《A generic love story: disturbance》Chapter 29

The next day, at lunch break, Takumi went to the rooftop. He easily picked the lock, and waited. Kyoya was told to meet him up here, away from others. Footsteps were heard, and a small shadow loomed behind the door.
It was Kyoya. But another student followed him out the door. Ueda Eirin immediately ran up to Takumi, fumed:
“You! What did you do to my specimen yesterday!?” The little girl retorted
“Eh… Excuse me but who are you? Kyoya?”
“Eirin. Ueda Eirin, first year of class 13! More importantly, do you know what you have done?!”
“Eh…?”
“Anou… Well you should`ve notice right Takumi? The rumors…” Kyoya said.
Takumi`s face paused. Then he palmed it, wailing bitterly. He was too worried about yesterday`s issue and failed to notice his surroundings.
“Shit! That`s why everyone was staring at us weirdly in class!”
“You stupid human! Give my specimen back his purity!”
“Haa… By the way Kyoya, who is this girl? Why is she calling you a specimen?”
“You… Don`t you dare ignore me! Don`t think that you can act big only because you are one of the (inaudible)! Take this!”
Eirin lost it and began pounding her tiny fists on Takumi`s chest. Kyoya had to interfere, after which they all sat down and had their lunch. The girl explained everything in her language, and Kyoya shrugged at Takumi`s baffled expression.
“Where are the croissants you said you would bring, Kyoya?”
“Ah… Uhm… About that…” Kyoya nervously tapped his index fingers against eachother.
Takumi understood it instantly, and gave Kyoya a meaningful nod. Seeing the smirk on his face, Kyoya swung his hands in denial.
“N-No! It`s not like that!”
“I`m rooting for you bro. Ueda-san, you are the first girl that can approach Kyoya. Kyoya don`t just cook and do chores, he is really strong despite his looks. I`m sure he will be a great…” Kyoya frantically covered his mouth.

“I know. His raw muscle power might be lower than that of yours, but his durability is nothing short of amazing. That`s why he is my specimen.” She replied after swallowing a gulp of water. Abruptly, she realized that Kyoya was being too close to Takumi. She grabbed his hand, pulled him away, before hugging his chest from behind. Placing her chin on Kyoya`s head, her eyes angrily gleamed at Takumi. Kyoya did blink, but he didn`t blush. Takumi scratched his head and assured her:
“Hey don`t worry, it was only an act. I`ll do something with the rumors ok?”
“No need, I don`t want any trouble. Rumors will die down.” said Kyoya. Eirin was fuming, but nodded.
Later, Takumi went home alone, since Kyoya was busy spending time with Eirin. Out of all the seats available in the late evening, someone decided to sit next to him. A familiar voice whispered in his ears:
“Hey, though you have those earphones on, you`re not actually listening to anything right? Mind sparing a moment to chat with me?”
Takumi turned over to give that person a surprised look. It was someone he knew quite well.
“Chisato senpai? Konbawa.”
“Haha, you don`t have to act surprised. Long time no see, Takumi-kun.”
“Uhm. Nice to meet you again senpai. How are you doing?”
The smile on her face froze, before a hint of sadness painted it. Exhaling gently, she talked:
“I`m not in prison yet. I`ve completely abandoned those horrible thoughts. I have been kicked out of the student council, but my life is pretty much the same. The story you made up literally saved it. Still, the sense of guilt lingered around every corner I go, and more than often would haunt me in my dreams.”

“What`s the matter? It was only a mistake, don`t throw away your life because of it.”
“Haha.”she let out a pathetic laugh “Sorry, after all I have done to you, now I`m here, not just asking for forgiveness, but also wanting to talk about my problems.”
“Hey it`s normal. I`m free. And you shouldn`t let it bother you, it didn`t even leave a scar, and my arm is fully healed now. I don`t hold any grudge against you, because I`m a nice person, but also a prideful one. Something that small won`t bother me, so you are belittling me if you still think that you are guilty, senpai.”
“Ara~ Such a smooth talker.” She paused to gaze away for a good moment, and then stared him in the eyes, as her own were filled with tears “D-Do you really mean it?”
Takumi took out a handkerchief and gently tapped it on her face. The smile he gave her was a frank one, and she knew it.
“Takumi-kun wa daisuki. Hontoni daisuki.” [I love you, Takumi-kun. Really much.]
This, although he thought unlikely, was not out of Takumi`s calculations.
“Sorry… But I`ve already have someone.” His face showed sympathy.
“Un~” -she wiped her tears- “I know that such a confession would never be accepted anyways, so I don`t mind. I wish you both the best of happiness…”
“Ah… Uhm…” (If only she was still here…) Tints of pink appeared in his memory.
Clearing her throat of sobs, she chuckled:
“Hehe, but if you would go around and molest girls like that, your partner isn`t satisfying your needs. Is Kyoya any good?”
“Wait! Hold on that was just an act!” He retorted “And I didn`t molest anyone.”
“Tehehe… If she refuses, you can use me instead y`know… I don`t know how to pay my debts to you, so my body would suffice right? I`m not a virgin anyways.”
“Very interesting offer. How about putting your hand to work right here?”
“E-Eh? You don`t mean… Then if you really want it… It`s just a service right? People sell these kinds of service everywhere right? It`s legal…” She blushed scarlet. [yes, handjobs and blowjobs are legal for sale in Japan. Anything beside penetration is good. Google it and you`ll see.]
“You were seriously considering it eh?” Takumi deviously smiled.
“Gr… Baka!” Chisato held her burning red face.
He laughed, and the atmosphere became more casual. Chisato tried to change the subject:
“Lately there have been many reports of pranks and vandalism, not just in our school, but also in public. People getting their seat ravaged, their pencil case burned; pins were left inside someone`s shoes, letters of threat,… Our council president is having a lot of trouble. Maybe your case was also a prank?”
“Eh…”
The wind madly clawed the train`s metal body as it steadily sped up, trying to slow it down. But to no avail.

Luck And Chronomancy
Time Magic is the best magic as everyone knows, although there are lots of unique Talents in the world. Most people only remember Haste because it is hard to get to higher Phases of Chronomancy. That is still enough to make the Talent iconic. A lucky enough Aleatory Talent can position you for greatness or leave you languishing in obscurity. The only true equality in the world is when that glowing message pops up at 8 years old. Even if it doesn't activate until you are an adult at 16 you still know. Sure you can find a new dungeon spawn and get another chance at a rare Talent, even this one, but you have to already be ready to delve into the *Far Wilds*, which is far easier with wealth or family power. This is the story of where my good fortune took me and the difference it made, even among a party of 7 others including an Arcanist. It is a journey of magic and monsters but also math, which some think is actually worse. Luckily I was born with Intelligence and Focus as my personal traits, and my parents were scholars. Of course Chronomancy can also be a frontline combat talent. Versitility well beyond other Elder Talents like Gravity, Abstraction, or Arcana. Might could have worked for me, too. I also met a runaway princess. All the best adventures have a princess. She hated being a noble and we didn't get married but it still counts. Besides she really filled out our front line. All that Leadership training came in handy. I still don't know where she's from. Who cares? How well Haste goes with giant hammers is what's important. I never learned much about anyone in the party, except the one I grew up with. I'm not a people person. I just wanted to optimize dungeon clearing time. *******Story Details******* No romance, politics, or traumatizing content, slice of life, or even dialogue. 1st person narration, like a guide/adventure log. 2000-7000 words a day, maybe 40-60% rpgish combat log with some reasoning on combat decisions, with the rest character Talent discussion and progression stuff. 8 person party with a decent variety in roles. Party members usually have 2 primary functions. Told from the support/control Chronomancer's perspective. Each party member will have 6 Basic/Background Traits, then 3 actual Talents with abilities. Capstone from their Educational Institution, Arbritrary as a gift from the temples, and Aleatory which is decided at birth, revealed at 8, and activated after adulthood at 16. Aleatory Traits ignore requirements and are random why is why they are so important. They'll gain new Talents from finding Dungeons to consume in the *Wilds*. Mature dungeons in cities can provide *Challenges* to raise the Phase of a Talent, up to 3 times from 1 to 4. Each character will get to roughly 8 non-Trait Talents. Attributes come exclusive from Talents, are required by Talents, and provide various effects as well. I designed about 220 Talents with abilities, 4 in each of 4 phases. "Traits" are just Attribute stuff. I'm not sure how many will be detailed in the story, more than 100 for sure. I used Talents because I want to be free of the legacy of tabletop. Half those rules are just because of the limitations inherent in a pre-computer ttrpg. This story mostly uses combat Talents, although like 1/3 of the 220 are for crafting and other society and economy stuff. If you really wanted to be a Thief you might take Intuition, Awarness, and Might for Basic Traits and Deftness, Manipulation, and Trickery for Family/Education. Then you'd pick Acrobatics, and Climbing for Educational Capstone and Arbitrary traits. You Aleatory Trait might be Shadow(Light/Dark) Magic, Umbramancy. A Bard might swap Dexterity for Charisma, Music for Acrobatics, and have gotten Illusion(Shadow/Sound(Air/Force)) for their Aleatory Trait.
