《Reborn as a grain of sand》chapter 6: Boarding School

*Beep* *beep* *beep*
As the alarm slowly woke me and the sunlight pierced my eyelid's I started flailing around trying to hit the dammed thing. After about a minute of fruitless flailing, I gave up and opened my eye's and eyeballed the offending sunlight. Sitting up I proceeded to crack my back and turn off the alarm getting up out of my bed. I glanced around at my small depressing flat I momentarily debated whether I should go out to get some food or eat the same nutrient blend the government made after 2020 because of the food crisis. Weighing my options I decided I just got my pay check, so I might as well splurge.
Putting on my coat that had worn out year's ago I trudged out into the street. It was the coldest's part of winter so even though I was wearing a coat the cold still bit into my flesh.
Breathing into my hand's to warm them up I trudged down the street to the nearest supermarket.
Entering the building I welcomed the change of temperature and stopped clinging on to my coat so tightly. After getting some food and beer I noticed something flicker in the side of my eyes turning to the side a man pulled out a gun.
Before the man could even utter a word I pulled out a pistol and shot him in the forehead.
*Tsk* it seems that they found me.
Rushing outside the building a line of police car's blocked all exit's.
''*sigh* I guess this is the end for me.''
Getting on my knees and placing my hand's on my head I stared at them.
One of the cops came up to me I could see the tear's in his eye's.
He opened his mouth then closed it trying to find the word's he's looking for before he finally choked out the word's.
''Why.....why did you do this.''
Smiling at the cop I replied.
''to feel.''
The cop hit me with the bottom of his gun knocking me unconscious.
....................................................................................................................................................................................
*Ughhhh* I haven't dreamt like that in year's
Looking around It seemed that I was in some sort of bedroom but not like any room I've seen. The wall's the furniture everything was made up of plant's. The walls were massive vine's entangled together. And the light was a glowing flower in the middle of the ceiling. And the bed I was sleeping on looked............... Well regular...that's kinda disappointing.

As I was marvelling the architecture of the room the door on the opposite side of the room opened and Mirea walked in. Smiling at me she picked me up while humming the song from last night.
As we walked out of the room the sun blinding my eye's for a split second I blinked rapidly trying to clear my eye's. Looking around I have never been one to enjoy the view but I take a second to take this view all in. We were standing on a large branch wide enough to fit two trucks side by side. Also, the floor was abnormally flat.
And branching out from the side's were smaller branches forming spheres about a meter apart each. Looking back it seemed that we had just exited one.
Turning to the left we walked towards a missive tree trunk that loomed over us. Once we arrived at our destination I could not spot any door walking forward Mirea whispered under her breath some unknown words and her forehead started glowing a pale green from within. Shining through her skin outlining her skull.
The bark shuddered and the rippled while we walked forward and into the tree, it felt like mud resisting our every move and wrapped around us as if it was inspecting us. After a while, it seemed to be satisfied and loosened its grip releasing us and allowed us passage. Stepping through we entered the trunk of the tree.
As we entered a large room a bright light's shined from the ceiling almost mimicking the sun illuminating what looked to be a reception area. Walking to the reception table the first thing I noticed was that the receptionist wasn't human. She had no ears and had gray skin with large eyes with irises that looked like the stars in the sky. She was also extremely tall with long thin and fingerless arm's.
The only reason that I knew that she was female was because of her noticeable bust and feminine clothes. Walking up the counter Mirea spoke.
'' Hi, my name is Mirea I have my child here for the Mana boarding school of the gate crest''
The receptionist tapped at a piece of wood that lit up

''is that Mirea Grand Wood''
''yes''
The receptionist proceeded to pull out a card.
''please drop a drop of your blood of your son onto the card this will confirm who you are and bind the card to your son''
Well this is a dilemma I don't think I have any blood.
But before I could think of a way out of this the receptionist had pricked my finger.
And on instinct, my body melted some of my sand inside my finger and added Mana to it making it. Making a substance similar in color and Consistency of blood. Dropping on to the card it flashed a deep red two times before flashing a pale green. The receptionist nodded her head.
'' Please come this way.''
Leading us into a room she pointed at what looked like a baby basket but it seemed to be made out of plant's that pulsed a deep blue light.
''Please place your child in the basket I know that humans have a deep attachment to their offspring you can say your last goodbye's now if you wish.''
Nodding her head Mirea walked over to me smiling.
''See you later little guy stay safe I'm going to miss you''
Staring at her I watched as Mirea left my line of sight replaced by the receptionist. Waving her fingerless hand above my head I fell asleep.
..............................................................................................................................................................................
I have been at this boarding school for 3 years now. Most of that time was spent eating and sleeping and about a year ago I have grown enough to speak. For some reason there was an actual barrier that stopped me from speaking before. I have also spent a lot of time reading in the library and I discovered that my body was absorbing the leftover energy from the children next to me. And generating sand particle's. Because I am for some reason not able to absorb this worlds natural energy that sustains and boost's most lifeforms's. Resulting in Everyone growing at an accelerated pace and living longer. Then the people from earth. For example, a 4-year-old in this world has roughly the intelligence and the physique of a 6-year-old.
*doooong*
A bell similar to a Church bell shakes me from my musings and I close the book in front of me. I guess it's time standing up I nod at the librarian and walk down the hallway's that have now become so familiar to me. Entering the courtyard I walk past a small lake that led to a small classroom. Entering I could feel the gazes of several students' staring at my back while walking into the room that had fallen silent. A kid with long droopy ear's and red and blue hair stood up.
''So you finally showed your face scum.''
Not sparing him a glance I strode forward to my seat. The kid his face quickly growing red shouted.
''HOW DARE YOU IGNORE ME IT SEEM'S THAT I'VE GOT TO TEACH YOU A LESSON!''
sighing I spoke under my breath while shaking my head
''*sigh* what i corny line what are we in a manga.''
The people next to me gave me a strange look while looking forward to me getting beaten. The kid taking my mumbling as a weakness rushes towards me his fist glowing sickly dirt color. Stepping to the side I let his Mana infused punch go by. Stepping forward I watched as his face quickly changed into one of fear smiling at him I punched his abdomen the location of his Mana core and forehead at the same time disrupting his control and Mana. Making it rampage inside him. Effectively crippling him a weakness that few know about even to this kid's own species.
Falling to the floor he spasmed for a bit before going still. While the classroom went deathly silent except for a few gasps of surprise and the kid on the floor frothing from the mouth. Ignoring their stars I proceed to walk calmly to my desk.

And as their stories go, one of them will face the events that unfold in their distant past, as the other one will unveil its mystery predicted by its future. Is it a mistake to challenge fate, after all? *** The world-building is set upon on the universal scale, with dungeon and old-style fantasy. It has a progression that follows with the consistency of a dungeon setting, although it's not what you call a dungeon, but a function of a crystal. There's a lot to take in this novel, but that's all within my intention. I have always enjoyed challenging conventional ideas. The cover is not mine, it's just temporary.
