《Reborn as a grain of sand》chapter 3: first contact

I laid there until night came that point I didn't know what to do. I could enter the forest but something was telling me to get more powerful before I entered, so I rolled away from the forest and started to add sand to my core. Since' it was taking to long to grab sand I tried to make hand's out of my aura. That didn't work it was too complex right now, so I tried to make a shovel. And eureka it works. Since the shovel wasn't really that big I set to the task of scooping up sand. About half an hour later I had maxed the amount of sand I could control. I was about the size of a small rabbit.(errr what's up doc)Now that I had a lot of sand I decided to try to shape myself to look like a weasel. Tried is the keyword here as I ended up looking like a long tube with slightly long stub's for leg's. I tried to move but I found it very difficult it took awhile, to learn, but I was able to get to grip's with how to move, so I kept on practising to the point where I could now run with ease. By the time I was done it was day again. I looked at the forest it just so happened that a massive snake with wings was thrown out of the tree's landing a few feet away. Hissing at the tree's a massive mouse walked out of the forest into the open. But that did not shock me as much as the fact that this mouse was walking on two very heavily muscled leg's.
NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE ima gone. I speed away from the fight as fast as I could into the sand and only slowed down when the forest was out of sight.
OK now, what. I don't need to eat and time isn't a problem so what should I do. I guess I will just have to go forward until I meet someone since I have nowhere else to go.

I wasn't sure at first but I think I see something in the distance. Probably a mirage.
Huh? I don't think it's a mirage. It looks like structures lots of them. It almost looks like a termite hill but bigger and more numerous. As I move closer to the termite hill's I see what look to be humanoid beetle. I wonder what's inside the termite hill.
A flash of inspiration struck. I Flattened my body on the ground and semi-submerged myself in the sand this way I look like normal sand.
I slither toward's one of the hills where three guards are standing guard. One of them looks in my general direction I freeze and mentally cross my fingers and hope that he doesn't see anything wrong. The beetle guards start clacking the mandibles and all turn toward's my direction. I was just about to run when I hear a screech behind me I turned to see a goblin?
It has all the characteristics and look's of a goblin jagged teeth ugly look's. But its skin it's sandy yellow like the desert. I shall dub them Sand Goblin's I know I so creative. As I look behind me I realize that there are more than one sand goblin.
''clack clack clack''
The beetles rush forward clicking their mandibles and cut down the goblin's behind me with their mandibles. One of them rudely steps on me they do not look happy. Taking a chance I slowly make my way to the hill entering the beetle's lair. There are three paths I go down the last one to the right changing back into my weasel form. I walk down the tunnel to find what I think is a larva room. There are hundreds of larva in little alcoves in the walls.
Dammit I hear footsteps nearby. I look around for a place to hide there is no space to hide except an empty alcove I jump into the alcove and change my shape to look like a larva. The beetles enter the room, but they look different to the beetle's outside. Instead of the mat black look that the guards outside sport. The beetles that have entered have a dark brown look on them. They are also smaller one of the walks to me and pull out what look's to be a sand goblin arm and pressed it in my face. I know I need to act the part of a beetle grub, so I open the sand where the mouth should be and bit the end of the sand goblin arm the sand just shifts around the sand goblin arm and left no damage. I think for about this problem for about a minute....the beetle is looking at me strangely I try to bite the arm but this time I try to condense my mouth it works. I bite down on the arm of the sand goblin rip a chunk out of the sand goblin's arm. I look at the beetle I want to kill this beetle but I know that I'm not strong enough to kill this one...yet but the larvae, on the other hand, Hehehe I wonder what would happen if I absorbed one. I'm about the same size as the larva, so I should not have a problem with absorbing the, unlike last time with the fruit. I think the only reason I could not absorb the fruit last time was because in my size in comparison to the fruit I was tiny. It was like a baby trying to eat a 3-course meal by himself the result is obvious baby go boom.

After the beetle was done force-feeding me and walked away. I set to ''digesting'' the food I used the black aura to digest the arm. After it had turned into energy I set to the task of absorbing it.
I felt the familiar feeling of my ability's being improved but to my surprise, I felt something more than just energy being absorbed. I absorbed the knowledge of how to shape the sand to make myself look like a sand goblin. This would be useful after I have finished my meal. I turn my attention to the larva I wait for the beetles to walk away before I make my move. I turn into my weasel mode and walk towards the nearest grub once I get to it, I try to absorb it with my aura but something I didn't expect happened. You see I have noticed that all life has a neutral aura and it surrounds all living things but When I tried to absorb the grub its neutral aura repelled my aura. Well I guess that means that ill have to kill you first.
I harden my body and sharpen the end of it jumping up into the alcove where the grub resided I spear the grub though the middle. It wiggled and thrashed for a bid before it finally stopped moving and died. This time when I activated my aura I digested it without a problem.
OK now to absorb it. Immediately I felt the energy start to fill me I felt myself expanding but unlike last time I could absorb it all. I was left in pure bliss and was rudely interrupted when I heard crashing and shouting in the next room, so I ran into a corner and relaxed turning into a pile of sand I felt like my control of the sand had increased, so I tried to spread myself out to form a mini beach in the conner success.
''screeeeeeeee''
What the!
A beetle ran into the room screeching and on fire before an Arrow slammed into its head ending its existence.
As it collapsed right in front of I watched as two humans walked out of the shadows and into the room.

How to Raise Your Dungeon
A dungeon core awakens for the first time. It knows nothing, it has nothing, but it can hear something. Voices, whispering, talking, and sharing. For now, they are distant. But it believes, if it proves itself, they may provide it with wisdom and direction. And so its slow but steady growth begins. Polls will come when the dungeon specifically wants to choose between a number of options, and believes it will receive an answer. However, it will "hear" any comments made on the most recent chapter, and these will shape its behaviour. It trusts you implicitely. This story is an exercise in stretching my creative muscles, so with each decision made, the options and opportunities open to the dungeon will change- some closing off forever. The dungeon will face threats periodically, and its fate in these encounters will be heavily influenced by your advice, though it will of course do its absolute best even without advice. It hardly wants to die. Heavily inspired by There Is No Epic Loot Here, Only Puns, though my approach to the concept is somewhat different from that work.

Law of Divine Gates
What is transcendence? There are those on countless planets who believe creation ended with them. The notion that they are God's chosen people, and nothing else existed beyond them became a firmly rooted ideal. An arrogant assertion you say? Well there you have it, ignorance is something mortals never have a lack of. This is not transcendence, to transcend is to explore the limits of existence, to constantly grow, and lay claim to all the universe has to offer. Transcendence is to not be constrained by ideals, or the planet of your birth, to transcend is to leave behind your Mortal shell, to challenge heaven's law, and formulate your own. Heaven would see mortals bowed in servitude until the end of their days, to reincarnate, and begin another lifetime of worship, giving praise to the gods. A young demon accidentally stepped through the gateway of endless possibilities, will he succumb to heaven's authority?

The Blackgloom Bounty
In the dark days before the end of the first millennium, Scotland (or Scotia as some called it) was a leaderless hodgepodge of tribes, clans and warring factions all bent on the same thing--domination of the land. Wizards, sorcerers and magicians still plied their trade, though much of their power had given way to the machinations of men and their war machines. To the south of Scotia lay the realm of the Saxons ruled by Ethelred the Unready and his ruthless minions. To the west, Ireland had just come of age. Everywhere else the constant threat of a lightning swift Viking incursion loomed over the land.Growing up in this lawless world is a displaced Daynin McKinnon, heir to an ancient familial keep on the island of Rhum. He and his grandfather Ean scratch out a living amongst the Saxons, careful never to divulge their clan heritage. That all changes when Kruzurk Makshare chooses Daynin as the ideal prospect to help him bring down a vile sorcerer named The Seed of Cerberus, ferreted away in his impregnable fortress at Blackgloom. Little does Kruzurk know that in so doing, he will launch young Daynin, himself and others on a vast, dangerous quest that no one could have foreseen. *****One Hollywood producer has dubbed this three book fantasy epic from Jon Baxley as, "BRAVEHEART meets THE LORD OF THE RINGS." Real places, people and events flesh out this fast moving, multi-faceted semi-historical series but fear not fantasy readers. There's more than enough of the magical, mystical mayhem you have come to expect from great fantasy. Romance readers, too, will enjoy the 'spice' in these characters--and there are a lot of them--both human and otherwise. And if you're into Viking lore, this series certainly is for you. When someone asks the author about his series, he answers with, “There were far more surprises in this tale than I ever expected and it's not over yet! This volume and the next two contain hundreds of pages filled with rollicking good times, fast moving action and a page turning adventure you will not soon forget."Books In The Scythian Stone Saga:THE BLACKGLOOM BOUNTY Episode 1 - 500 pagesTHE REGENTS OF RHUM Episode 2 - 800 pagesTHE SCIONS OF SCOTIA Episode 3 - 800 pages
