Chapter 12
An Alternative to magic?
It had been an overall 6 days after the incident, it passed like seconds. There was no shame and humiliation from defeat, just an utter feeling of emptiness. I seriously can’t do magic?
I had been contemplating on what exactly could I do now. Only if there was some sort of cheat way I could use to fight. Cultivating the bodies full potential, qigong?
Qigong was using breathing techniques to cultivate qi, right? There must be some sort of familiar art to that in this world. I scanned the archives and libraries to find any sort of exercise with a resemblance to qigong. Nothing.
What could I use to give myself an advantage. I had been walking near the mining colonies, I was busy collecting minerals and materials.
“Um, Master if I may be of assist, may I help you gather materials, I have a material identification skill?”
Lehtrious, he or rather she had turned into a young woman in her teens.
“Whatever, and you can drop the formal stuff, seriously it’s starting to bother me.”
From these days and onwards, I couldn’t really use Lehtrious, so she’d turned into a sentient human.
Man… *sigh*
Anyway, her combat abilities were still active and working, so instead of fighting she worked as a sort of bodyguard.
Lord Oscaster was upset, but more over that I haven’t had any contact with Elizabeth or Chandrelle.
Well I couldn’t help it, I literally never see her, and when I do she gives me the ‘cold shoulder’.
Uh, whatever. I still haven’t found any alternative to magic. If I don’t, there will be nothing to do in this world apart from reading books.
“Okeydokey, Hitora-san, I’ll talk like this!”
“Um, what’s with the honorific?”
“I can read into your mind and see what you’d like to be called, and you though using honorifics were cute, so I did so…”

She gave me troubled and embarrassed face.
“uh…? Whatever, did you find any minerals or anything, so far I’ve only got some common yrtis, which is some sort of metal, did you find any useful materials?”
“I found something, very interesting, it’s a sharp object, a sort of stone called trius, a stone which can be used to launch at high speeds, almost like a projectile…”
Projectile… I could make a gun!
All I would need is some sort of similar materials to a potassium, sulfur, nitrate and charcoal to make gunpowder, a fuse to light the gunpowder, and the gas and pressure exerted on the projectile would spin it towards it to an enemy.
I told the plan to Lehtrious.
“Hmm…Hitora-kun, this might be hard to find the exact materials, but soon enough we will find it!”
“Please…drop the honorific…”
“Iya. It sounds cute, right!?”
“This sounds like a poorly translated Japanese web-novel.”
