The two noble princesses stood there looking down at me with hateful eyes, as if I was the scum of the earth. But if they hated me that much, why would they save me?

Footsteps resounded across the great halls of the palace (I suppose).

I tilted my head and saw a short looking old man, with a grey beard, and noble outfit. His face was calm and gentle. Unlike the two knights standing beside him, they had hateful glares.

“Hello, I take it you’re the man that saved my second daughter?”

“Um…, yeah?”

He bowed down.

“I am truly grateful.”

What?! He should know about what I did to her?

Because even his guards know of which.

Just what is this guy? Well I should at least be grateful right?

“But you also, laid a finger on her, an eternal shame that you have place on this family – and on top of that you are a peasant!”

Anger gleamed from his face.

“Thus, why I am sentencing you to a life service of serving me! As a soldier!”

What? A soldier?

“Seriously a soldier, I don’t even know how to fight?”

“since you did horrible things to her, it is only right that you become a knight worthy of status and marry her! Otherwise It will be a eternal shame!”

Huh? Marry her. She’s very beautiful, but she’s a b*tch!

And become a powerful knight. That will be hard won’t it?

Well it will be better than being a peasant who does nothing but, kill goblins right?

“Well we shall commence your training!”

I was taken to training halls.

It has been a month of training. I am the worst of the knights.

It seems the sitatuion of the Oscaster clan is desperate, they haven’t had many great warriors in years. This contradicts the statements of oscaster’s daughter Elizabeth. Only her and chandrelle and the hidden 15 have great powers.

I wake up in the morning, than I get ready. I come in my common clothes and start with a quick run, the instructor arrives, so do the other students.

We get our equipment.

They all give me dirty looks.

“Hey looks it’s the loser who gets to take Elizabeth!”

Yes that was they’re names, Elizabeth the one I will have, and Chandrelle the older one.

I sometimes see them, rarely though.

Most of the time I’m with these sweaty guys, that just make fun of me.

I learn some knight manouvers and [skills]

[skills] are pretty much attacks, and skills. Pretty self explanatory? Right.

I only know a few skills.

Anyway today we learn magic skills. We have to focus our energy into these stones, if they all light up we have a higher aptitude and ability to use magic, and thus learning is quicker.

It’s my turn.

“Looks whose here, the dog, Aldus!”

“Light them up…phh, I bet you’ll get one!”

I focus my energy. Focus. Focus.

I close my eyes.

Gasps and looks of surprise greet me.

All the various crystals/stones, are lit up and floating.

What?

I’m good with magic.

“HUH!!!!!!!!!!!”

The two instucturs nearly feint from the sight of this.

“No one has been able to do that in 1200 years!”

“A once in a life time ability has been given to the dog”
