《Who Cares!!?》Chapter 42

There was little distance between the two as Alex ran for his life, and the Hairy Hulk ran for Alex’s life too.
‘Man!! How did it end up like this?’
Alex was running in the hallway, desperately trying NOT to let the Hairy Hulk destroy the entire school and quite possibly kill a certain someone or everyone in it.
‘I am pretty sure it is your fault, Alex’
Jason was now scanning different parts of the school, one by one, in search of a clue that might lead to a hidden passage while Alex was busy running a marathon.
’SHUT UP!! and it’s not.’
Alex looked backed to check if the beast was still following him, and sure enough, the Hairy Hulk was determined to catch Alex and was rampaging towards him.
‘Now where to? That Hairy Hulk is going to destroy the entire place if this keeps on.’
Alex asked himself.
‘ALEX!!’
--Oh shit
Alex headed towards the gym hall.
’WHERE ARE YOU?’
The Hairy Hulk entered the hall, searching for Alex. Alex quietly crept into a corner and hid himself.
’COME ON OUT AND LET’S HAVE A CHAT LIKE CIVILIZED PEOPLE, OKAY?’
You’re the last person on Earth I would want to say that. Alex called out to him because, like a “Hulk” and a “Gorilla,” he had started SMASHING things.
‘Over here, you Hairy Hulk.’
Alex threw a basketball at him, which the Hairy Hulk caught. He then ran out of the gym and expectedly, the Hairy Hulk followed.
‘Jason! Hurry up and find the stupid place.’
‘Easier said than done. I am trying.’
Alex knew he couldn’t keep on running around the school forever. Someone was bound to eventually get hurt like this.
‘Jason, you said you had a vague idea where they might be, where is it?’

‘The North-East side, that is where I am right now.’
Alex thought what was in the north-east section as he ran.
--Come on, think brain, think.
He was wondering if there was some change.
--There has to be some specialized equipment that creates the serum from the chemicals. Hikaru must have created them in school if the serum loses its effect after 30 minutes, but the equipment couldn’t have always been there, meaning it was placed there recently.
Alex headed towards the North-East section as he kept on thinking.
--Where could he have made them? Suddenly it came to him. Wait, could it be…
‘Jason, search the chemistry lab there.’
--It only makes sense that’s the only place that was changed due to Hikaru’s accident. After his accident, the chemistry lab was closed for three days. All the chemicals lost in the fire were replaced, and all the damaged equipment was repaired. The people who repaired them must have been from Jira.
Alex was right. Hikaru actually caused the accident on purpose to destroy the chemistry lab for Jira’s people to come and place the equipment required to make the serum there.
Jason immediately headed to the chemistry lab and started searching. He had carefully checked the entire place but found nothing.
‘Alex, I searched everywhere. I do not think it is in here.’
‘Keep searching, it has to be there.’
Just then, Alex ran outside of the chemistry lab while the Hairy Hulk was behind.
‘I’M GOING TO RIP YOU APART!!!’
As the Hairy Hulk ran outside, everything inside the chemistry lab shook except one thing which caught Jason’s eyes.
A cupboard with a transparent glass door, its contents didn’t move an inch even though the cabinet itself shook.
Jason slid the sliding glass away and found that the materials were actually just another glass. Jason tried to slide it, but it didn’t budge.

Frustrated, Jason took out his gun and shot the glass a couple of times.
But not even a single scratch.
‘Interesting’
The glass was bullet-proof, but Jason had always enjoyed breaking bullet-proof glass.
He took out a small device and stuck it on to the glass. He then turned it on, and within seconds, the glass broke.
The tool was a frequency generator that matched the frequency of the glass, creating the opposite effect hence breaking it.
After the glass broke, there was a big hollow cavity and inside, equipment highly complicated and too expensive for a school.
Jason also found a tube containing blue fluid with an injecting gun. Beside it, another empty tube still had some red liquid in it.
‘I found the reverse serum.’
Jason grabbed the reverse serum and attached it to the gun and ran to finally join Alex.
He found Alex still running. Alex saw Jason and quickly went to him.
‘I found the reverse serum Alex. We just have to inject it.’
‘Great, but how are we going to do that?’
’WHERE DID YOU FIND THAT?’
The Hairy Hulk alarmingly looked at the gun, and it only proved it really was the real thing. The Hairy Hulk took a step back, scared.
‘Do not worry. During our last encounter, I was not fully prepared, this time I am.’
Jason took out a yellow dart and loaded his gun.
‘This is the most potent tranquilizer in the world. It can take down a raging elephant in 10 seconds’
Jason aimed at the Hairy Hulk.
‘He is no exception.’
Jason fired, but the Hairy Hulk dodged it. He was much faster and stronger than the previous time too.
‘That’s great, but only if it hits him.’
The Hairy Hulk saw that he could evade the darts. He gave a sly smile.
‘How many of those darts do you have left?’
‘Two’
‘That’s not much.’
’DIE!!’
