《Autumn Winds and Crimson Waters》Baguette Fight

"You're an imbecile." said Lsantha. "An absolute imbecile. Do you want to get slapped? Cause that's how you get slapped."

Poised low with hands on the table, the girl locked her sight on the lad across from her, eyes fixated in a death stare.

"Hard." she continued.

The boy suddenly made a dash to the left, and Lsantha pounced after him like a cat after goldfish. He swerved. Dodged right and feinted. Lsantha missed and the standoff continued with the two sides on opposite sides of the table.

"With a baguette."

In the corner, Monik spat out his drink.

The boy - Rel, didn't look back at the noise. All this time, he maintained eye contact with Lsantha across the table. He grinned.

"Look at that, you've made Monik spill his drink. Is that what you want, huh? To make innocent 3rd graders spit out their drinks?"

"I'm fo-" Monik began, but succumbed to a coughing fit.

Rel wasn't about to let this chance go. "Look at that, Monik can't even speak properly now. You've actually gone and made Monik unable to speak. That's what you want? That's what you actually want, Lsantha? Is it? That's sick and cruel and unbefitting of a lady of your status. Unbefitting, absolutely unbefitting. Is that what you are, Lsantha? For the 2 years that I've known you, I've never known that you are such a wicked person. Is that your hobby, Lsantha? Do you secretly like making people choke on their drinks?"

She pegged an apple on him. Rel ducked hurriedly and scrambled to run the other way as Lsantha chased after him again. They ran clockwise around the long table, Rel barely managing to stay on his feet. If he trips, it's all over.

Bam! Lsantha slammed her palms on the wooden surface. She stopped. Rel stopped. Neither of them broke eye contact.

"Give me back my bracelet, or I'll skewer you like the ugly swine you are." she threatened. Her voice was dangerously low.

Rel was having too much fun. He winked and blew a kiss, and Lsantha twitched.

"My, my, Lady Lsantha. Who knew that you could use such language! How rude, how shocking! Why, Lsantha, every day you come with pretty make up and tidy shoes, and yet inside you are such a dangerous woman? Is that really true? Do you really like making poor Monik spit out his drink? Monik never wronged you, how could you, Lsantha, how could you do this to him?"

Without warning, Lsantha ran right. Rel did the same. They dashed around the table, Rel desperately trying to stay on the opposite side of her. He could feel the stare drilling into his back like oil fire burning away at his robes, but this was too funny.

"Oh, no!" Rel cried in mock terror. "I'm being chased by a lovely lady! Whomever shalt besought thoust poor innocent soul?"

Lsantha finally had enough. She flipped the table over.

Rel yelped. He scrambled towards the next table.

Before he could however, Lsantha picked a baguette off the ground. She swung it. Hard.

It hit Rel square in the back his legs and before he could grab onto anything with his flailing arms, he tripped.

Lsantha was on him in an instant. It was over, they both knew it was. Despite all this, as the girl yanked him up by the front of his shirt, Rel flashed a stupid grin.

The slap was satisfyingly loud.
