《In Another World with Doraemon's 4D Pocket》Chapter 1 - The Purpose for Being Here

"What the hell? Is this real?" Cary said as he inspected the small gadget with the bamboo rudders. He found a small white button on the base of the device and pressed on it, the rudders rotated at an enormous speed which almost pulled him off the ground.
"Oh shit! It's real!" He pushed the button again to turn it off. This time, he put it on top of his head. By some magic, the cup-like base of the copter suctioned itself on to his head. He pressed the button again.
"I'm...flying!" Cary was ecstatic. This was a childhood dream coming true. He floated off the ground and flew to the skies above.
"Yahooooooo!"
He tried doing spinning maneuvers on the sky, which he failed to do gracefully for a lack of experience flying. After playing around for a short while, he turned his attention to his surrounding area.
"Am I in Alaska? Where the fuck am I?"
There was no sign of civilizations no matter where Cary looked. It was a snowy wonderland filled trees with no leaves and mountains in the far distance. It was indeed like Alaska or any similar national parks in the north.
Cary also saw that snow was starting to fall, and he felt that the speed of the flakes was starting to increase slowly.
"A snowstorm is coming!" Cary muttered. He flew back to the ground. He ignored the cold for a while because he was so excited about playing with the take-copter. But now, he was starting to realize that he felt cold....extreme cold. Cary was only wearing his security guard uniform and that was certainly not enough to stand against Alaska-level freeze.
"Fuck!" He hugged himself to stay warm. "Wait, maybe I could use that?"
Cary inserted his hands again inside the 4D pocket. But this time, a hologram shot out of the white pouch.
New user recognized. Granting access to the library........
"W-what?" Cary was jolted surprise by the hologram.

"Was this in the original series?" Cary said as he looked at the hologram. He started scrolling through all the options.
"Holy shit this is real! It's really everything inside the 4D pocket!" Cary said with excitement. He pressed one of the options presented to him.
Gadget selected. Please retrieve it now.
He put his hand inside the pocket again and unlike before where he could feeling nothing for a while, the gadget was already ready for him to pull out now.
"Anywhere Door!" Cary said in an exaggerated manner as he retrieved an entire pink door out of the small pocket.
A small hologram shot out from the door.
Anywhere Door Function: Say where you are going, then you can open the door and arrive straight at your destination.
He set the door on the ground and opened it while saying "home!". To his surprise and utter disappointment, the door was locked and it did not budge open.
"What? Maybe I need to be more specific?" Cary then said the full address of his apartment and tried to open it again. To his dismay, the door stayed locked. A hologram shot out again from the pink door.
Error! It has been detected that you are not in the same dimension as Earth. There is no map data about this location. To fill in map data for this location, explore and move through this location. A connection with Earth is currently impossible.
Cary dropped to the snowy ground below, out of energy. "Is this really another world?" He said weakly.
Cary felt the snowstorm was now finally coming. He could not stand to be under this cold for any while longer lest he will freeze to death. He inserted the pink door back inside the 4D pocket and chose another gadget.
"Camping Capsule!"
Camping Capsule Function: Insert the pole of the capsule into the ground below. The size of the capsule will automatically grow tall and you can ride the elevator to enter the capsule. Inside the capsule is a spacious modern room with a comfortable bed a restroom, and a shower.

He stabbed the ball-like capsule into the ground below and took several steps back. The capsule grew in size immediately and reached high to match the height of the tallest trees around him. An elevator lowered itself to his level and he rode on it to reach the top. After stepping inside, the interior was even more luxurious than he thought. An entire bed and a bathroom with all the necessities you need to stay comfortable in the wilderness was there.
Just as Cary entered the camping capsule, the snowstorm outside was starting. Howls of wind and snow ravaged through the lands, but the capsule's integrity was not rattled the slightest. Cary went to the bathroom and gazed at the mirror. A biracial man, seemingly half-black half-Asian could be seen. He trimmed his hair very short and his physique looked healthy, a part of why he was suitable to be a mall security guard.
"Is this really not Earth?" He muttered.
He already entertained the idea of this being a portal fantasy situation where he was not on Earth anymore. Heck, something as ridiculous as Doraemon's 4D pocket was in his possession. But confirming it was true felt...sad to him.
"The main characters of those stories always accept their situation quick, huh. Those guys are always people who had nothing to live for, but I still have my dreams."
Cary was thinking about his parents, his family, and his dream of becoming a film director. Were those things simply out of his reach now? But what can he do?
"I may be able to come up with something, even a method to return if I have Doraemon's gadgets," Cary said to the mirror. Indeed, nothing is out of reach if he utilized the tools he has right now.
But why me? Why this world? And the fuck Doraemon's 4D pocket? He thought. It was indeed a very odd combination. The main characters of other stories would get something like a stat screen where they could level up or something of that nature. But Cary? gadgets from a children's show.
But why did I suddenly re-read Doraemon anyway? He pondered. The world was extremely depressing before Cary left. People were divided, a pandemic occurred, and nations were left in turmoil. Hate was cultivated by evil individuals to ponder their base while attacking their opposites. It was a world under fire, and Cary as an individual felt powerless to stop it, stop the suffering and pain.
Doraemon from his childhood represented hope, the ability to change your fate, and other people's circumstances. Throughout the manga, Doraemon the futuristic cat robot did not just help Nobita or his friends, they went on adventures together, helped entire civilizations or groups of people. It was a message of empathy and caring designated towards the future generation. Those were all in Cary's thoughts, this simple children's entertainment represented the goodness that he wished was available to everyone in the world.
And the idea that all these gadgets would be invented in the future that would get rid of all suffering, poverty, hunger...Cary pondered.
Was I sent here to be this world's Doraemon? He thought. It was a ludicrous sentence to even think about, nevermind said out loud, but it tugged on his mind. Cary was not the type to misuse the power these gadgets give him, that would do a disservice to the show he loved so much as a kid.
"But I don't even know what type of problems can I solve here? Or even if there are any civilizations or people in this world. I could be stuck here alone." He said. But saying that, it made his short-term goal clear:
"Find other people!"

Transformers: Heroes
Heroic Decepticons Alternate Universe. A century ago, the eons-old war between the Autobots and the Decepticons suddenly and inexplicably came to an end. Since then, many have gone their separate ways, whilst others still hold onto the bitter memories of war. Now, as Autobots and Neutrals join forces in a new directive to capture every Decepticon still left alive, it appears that the Autobots will finally get their chance to even the score, and defeat their enemies once and for all. But when they become the target of seemingly random, yet terrifying attacks, some begin to realize that the enemy may be much closer to home than anyone could have ever imagined. Author's Notes: While it helps to have a little bit of prior knowledge about the world of Transformers, you don't need to be a Transformers fan to enjoy this story, or even a Decepticons fan! One thing I can say for sure is that it is unlike any Transformers fan fiction you've ever come across. This story aims to explore one possible set of motivations in depth in a setting of ongoing conflict between the Autobots (and, more recently, the Alliance - a collaboration between Autobots and Neutrals) and the Decepticons. Although this story takes a lot of things from the G1 cartoon, it is by no means strictly G1 toon oriented and introduces characters and/or ideas from other continuities (Sentinel Prime, Jhiaxus, Thunderblast and Rook (not the Autobot Rook - the other Rook!). Set primarily on Cybertron and Alternity City, it also deviates from certain key elements common in Transformers canon. For one thing, the general consensus that all Autobots are good and all Decepticons are bad is challenged, and a new meaning to the motivations behind their conflict is offered (which is a recurring theme in my Heroic Decepticons Alternate Universes). Some personalities have been altered from their canonical profiles as a necessity (Megatron being the most obvious example) and developed to a much deeper level than the original cartoon allowed. I hope you enjoy and thanks for reading.
