《Call it a Mission》Fixing a Hole – 14 – She was from a different planet

“What do you think?” he asked at the weekly meeting in the boardroom where the new guy was obviously not invited to.
Flores glanced back at him, pursed her thin lips, temporary resetting her worry lines. She'd certainly earned those.
“It looks like he’s a good bet,” the newly 40 year old latina said, the corner of her mouth lifting slightly. She’d worn red this Thursday. She always wore that color when she'd decided things were a go, although it had never been clear to him that it was a conscious choice. Even her rimless glasses seemed to have a red tint to them today. “I wasn’t certain after his testing, but given how he’s responded to the directory, he clearly subconsciously is still being at least unconsciously directed by the event that brought him to our world.”
“So what do we do now?” Nora wanted to know. “Do we tell him? I think we should tell him, at least something. It might be better if he had preparation. He has no apparent conscious memory of what happened to him, at least it didn't show up in the test. And I think he’s the type to want to help find a missing girl. He’s kind.”
Flores shook her head sending short brunette curls shaking.
“We continue with the plan as written,” she stated. “The approach needs to be natural, fluid. We upset the balance last time and it cost us our anchor, as well as the little boy we were charged to find.”
“Emily,” Benny replied. “And it’s not like we lost her, not exactly.”
No, Frank remembered. She quit. Had gone to the police. And when that didn’t work out, had sued and probably made out with the settlement she deserved.

“I disagree,” Nora insisted. “I think we let it go to late that time with her. She wasn’t ready and couldn’t handle it. I think we need to try it differently, in the other direction this time.”
Frank glanced over at her. Nora was acting like it was hotter than it was in here, with the top button on her shirt undone, and her cheeks a little pinker than normal. And she’d shown up five minutes late to the meeting. What was she up to with that ghost of hers? Didn’t she remember the last time she got too involved with a spook?
“It’s his life we’re playing with, not to mention his sanity,” Frank argued. “Minds are fragile things. And given how he tested, I’d say that caution is the best way to go with Gary. I agree with Nora. He thinks reality is more concrete than we know it is. Even so, I don’t we could have prepared Emily without scaring her off. You certainly almost did three times.”
“I think I have a good idea about what reality is,” she told him. “She was from a different planet. I mean, not a real different planet, not like...”
This was a bit unlike Nora. She wasn’t usually so argumentative. He wondered if she was being ‘swayed’ again.
He felt the need to try a test of his own.
“Someone whispering in your ear?” he replied. “We all know how ghosts tend to stretch the truth. And Harold…”
Nora’s eyes widened in indignation. One of her hands fisted.
“I know the difference between fact and fiction Frank,” she said. “And no, Harold isn’t doing anything. He’s a ghost not a poltergeist! I can tell the difference!”
He raised his palms to call off her outburst.

“I’m having no trouble with him at all. And even he knows Bigfoot isn’t real and Kennedy wasn’t assassinated by a bullet blessed by the archangel Michael.”
“That was an early draft, not to mention children’s fiction” he protested. “Candace and I have gone over it three times. Michael is barely even in the story at this point. And, hey! are you having your friends spy on me?”
“As if I can ever tell them what to do,” she retorted. “Honestly, I thought they were making those revisions up. Why’d you change it anyways? I thought it was kind of cool, an archangel I mean, for the story.”
“Candace didn’t like it,” he told her. “She thought Michael would go after him with his flaming sword, or at the very least have Raquel do it, not rely on Bigfoot’s dodgy aim. But you know, that then would have shown up in the autopsy. Apparently, CSI labs have a test for angel-guided bullets. What can I say, my muffin is getting pretty good at framing an argument.”

She used to be a bright child. She was just not fortunate enough to have a normal life. Ill and bed-ridden, she slowly lost affect and cut herself off from outer reality, as her only joy was to construct a complex fantasy world. And eventually, she met her demise. Nevertheless, her story did not end here. Who is to say that Death is our last path? For her, it was just the beginning. She had been given a second chance. Reborn as a Goddess in the very own world that she created, it was now only up to her to write her own story. ‘This time, let’s try to live normally.’ Warning: Slow Character Development, Frequent Hiatus About the releases: Do not expect regular releases. I can no longer stick to a specific release schedule, so the chapters will be released once the entire arc is done, which implies long hiatus periods between arcs. About the tags: Although there are game elements, there are absolutely not the focus of the story so this isn't exactly a LitRPG.

Emily was never very sane, the appropriate term would be 'intelligent psychopath', she just prefers mass murdering bitch. Emily beat a rabbits head in when she was 5, she spent her entire school life discreetly killing animals and humans alike, and went to university to get a psychology degree as a general 'fuck you' to the world. She graduated university and went off the grid for a year killing over 1000 people and labelled as one of the worlds most dangerous psychopaths. But all good things must come to an end, the police figured out her identity and Emily was reduced to waiting in alleys for unfortunate passerbys. But while in the middle of torturing some fuckhead who thought he was smart by trying to hit on her she was summoned by God, which isn't exactly the dream for Emily. He tells her that he will grant her 5 powers and send her to a new world to cause chaos, a world that Emily read about in books, a world that Emily could really ruin. Hi, this is my first novel because writing looks fun and I tend to be incredibly bored a lot. I don't know if I'm any good so please tell me what I'm doing wrong as a review Chapters will come out whenever I feel like a reponsible person PS: I am a very indescisive person so the synopsis will change a lot, have fun with that. PPS: I am terrible at writing synopsises. So I'm reading this a few years later and my god its shocking no one shot me in the head when I was younger. But uh, people have been DMing me asking if this story has stopped, which it has. (why was I allowed on the internet during my EdgeLord Phase, I don't know, but someone really should have stopped me) But thanks to all the people who read this, it really does mean a lot.

- previously known as Savior: A Love Story - When Tamashi sees a girl about to get run over by a truck, he does what any selfless person would do before thinking: he tries to push her out of the way. He closes his eyes and reopens them: to find himself in a vast void, stuck there with a being that’s nearly his own reflection. The only difference? That being’s hair was completely white. Side note: he’s also kind of an arrogant jerk. Tamashi wakes up to find that he successfully saved the girl: except, someone shows up and accuses him of murder. What the hell? This is the story of Tamashi, and his journey to redeem himself and to to find out the truth of the world he lives in. As it turns out, there’s more to society and the world than the eye can see.
