《Programmica Magica》Chapter 7: The Wall

The second floor seems very similar to the first floor, but there are actual rooms now. I’m not exactly sure their purpose, as the contents have long since been destroyed or taken by adventurers.
Some seem to have been bedrooms of sorts, some seem to have been restrooms, and one looks like it was a rather large cafeteria. There even seems to be something that was an elevator of sort, though it’s completely blocked off. This is just a guess, though, since all that’s left is whatever was made out of the facility wall’s material.
There’s something that’s been bothering me. I had noticed the Magica in the first floor was a bit odd, almost flowing through the hallways and ending at the stairs I ended up taking. I had written it off as something not really notable, but it’s much more severe in this floor. It seems as though the Labyrinth is sucking all of the Magica near it. This must be built on a place where Magica flows through naturally, considering the massive amount of it moving through.
I fight a few more slimes and get a bit better at using my beam, but there’s yet another thing bothering me! What is it with this Labyrinth and the surprises? I came across a few stairs, but the Magica doesn’t flow down them, continuing to flow down the way I’m walking. I have to find out where this Magica is flowing to, so I continue to follow it.
Interesting. A new monster! It looks to be a spider the size of a large dog. As it attacks, I realize it’s completely harmless to me. It’s trying to inject venom into me, but since I’m an android it’s completely worthless. A single beam to the head takes them out, but they’re rather fast. Perfect for me to do some target practice with my beam!
The enemies consistently grow more and more in number as I continue to follow the Magica. The only real danger are the slimes, but as long as I’m attentive, they shouldn’t be an issue.
I come across a large room, seeming to have been an auditorium of some kind. I wonder what its uses were for…
Ah, there’s a hive of those spider things here.
I slowly back away. More trouble than it’s worth.
It seems pretty uneventful as I continue to follow the Magica, then come across the set of stairs that the Magica flows to.
As I step down, I come across a room similar to the first room just at the entrance. However, standing there are two beat-up androids… Androids? Brother! Sister!

The moment I step to in front of the room, their heads look up, their eyes going from lifeless white to having bright purple irises. It’s interesting. It looks mechanical, like layers of lenses atop one another. Are my eyes like this? Their bodies also begin regenerating, just as how mine did when I woke up.
Ah, they’re looking right as me.
They’re… not moving.
I take a step into the room, and they immediately raise their hands, several circles of Magica appearing behind them.
Magica? They can use it?!
I take a step away, and after a few moments the circles disappear.
I’m not ready for this.
I can’t feel fear, but my body immediately told me to run.
I take a few more steps back, and begin thinking.
How did they use Magica? Are they a part of whatever system is denying me access?
I run a simulation on the Magica they were using. It seemed to be 3 separate circles, but I have no idea what they were. They looked completely differently from Malos', and I can’t find anything like it from his memories.
This is a bit of a wall for me…
Since it seems as though they won’t chase me outside of the room, maybe I could train myself on them?
I spend a few… days? practicing on the spider nest with my beam. After some time, the simulation for the Magica finishes, and it works?
It works!
The first spell seems to be a Magic Missile-esque spell, the second seems to be a spell to increase my speed and durability, and the third seems to be a spell which is meant to bind the opponent.
I use the spells on the spiders. At first, they’re firing wildly and impossible to control. They even explode on me a few times. Eventually, though, I slowly gain some control over them. It’s imprecise, but I can at least aim it properly now.
I confidently return to the room, and take a step in. After my second step, both my arms are blown off in an instant. I fall backwards out of the room. My siblings are too strong!
How can I do anything here?
I let my body regenerate, then decide to go down one of the other sets of stairs. I can return once I’ve grown stronger. For now, I am far, far too weak.
As I head down the nearest set up stairs, I’m immediately attacked by a rather large snake. Just like the spider, its venom can’t hurt me, but its large body is able to throw me against the wall.

I use the durability spell just in time, preventing any damage. I then layer the Magic Missile with the binding spell to stop the snake in its tracks and blow off its head.
Oh? That’s quite a lot of Magica coming from its body…
Nice.
It seems it wasn’t over 10%, but it’s a lot more than the slimes or spiders.
As I delve further into the Labyrinth’s third floor, I come across a few different rooms. Some seem to be laboratories, considering the long tables jutting from the floor, made of the same material as the walls, and on top of more that seem to be restrooms, there also seems to be a rather long room. It almost resembles a firing range or a storage room. I come across a few of these.
There’s also a few new monsters. A wolf made of rock, a snake that can shoot venom, and a sentient mushroom that shoots out tons of spores. I feel bad for these venom-based monsters. Sorry that I’m immune!
As I’m walking down the hallways, I notice yet another flow of Magica, much weaker than before, but it’s enough to catch my attention. Along the trail of Magica I come across a few monsters.
Two large doors block my path at the end. Past them seems to be powerful Magica, more so than mine, but not nearly as much as the androids.
I push open the doors, and there’s a wide, circular room that looks similar to the entrance room. In the middle is a giant pile of rocks. I think I see where this is going.
As I step into the room, the doors lock behind me and the rocks form themselves into a giant golem. Yeah, I called it.
Alright, let’s do this!
The golem slams down where I was just an instant ago. I cast a few durability and speed spells on myself, and Magic Missiles and binding spells onto the golem. I manage to stop it for a moment, but it quickly breaks out. The Magic Missiles only did a small amount of damage to the rocks.
As I go to cast another spell, the golem casts one itself. A sandstorm fills the room, blocking my vision. The Magica of the sandstorm blocks me from seeing the golem’s Magica, and as I adjust my eyes, I see the massive arm of the golem right next to me, swinging towards my torso.
Ah.
I go flying across the room and land against the wall, falling down to the floor. Ow!
I go to stand up and… where are my legs?
Ah, shit.
They’re where I was hit originally.
I cast a few more speed and durability spells on myself so I can crawl away from the golem about to hit me once again. I lift up my hand, letting out a blast to its hand, blowing it off. I let out a mental victory dance… until the rocks begin moving and reform. Really? I wish I could do that!
My body does its best to regenerate as I continue to crawl, barely able to escape. This is really a life or death situation! Shit shit shit shit.
The golem casts another spell, pulling in the sandstorm onto itself, making it larger. Ah, wonderful.
I continue to blast the golem when I can, slowing it down slightly. As I blast its neck, I see a small, glowing orb. Is that the core?
I blast twice, but the golem blocks it with his arms. Damnit!
My legs finally regenerate enough to be functional. I quickly stand and begin running, finally able to dodge the golem properly.
The golem continues to attempt to attack me, now using spells to shoot rocks at me.
Every time I try to shoot at its throat, it blocks every time.
I have… an idea. It’s a stupid idea, but it’s an idea.
I let the golem hit me again, and my body splits in half. I grab onto its arm, using the momentum to fling myself behind it, using a few, full-power blasts from my hands to then fling myself forwards.
I land on the back of its head, grab on, and blast at its neck as rapid-fire as I can with my other hand.
The golem attempts to reach for me with its gigantic, stone hands. As it slams down on me, I finally reach the core, blasting it into smithereens.
The rocks plummet to the ground in a moment, as well as me.
Ah, victory.
A massive amount of Magica flows out from where the core was.
Magica increased +118. Estimated value: 128/708.
Wow, I was a lot closer to death than I had thought. I only had 10 Magica before defeating the golem. This regeneration takes a lot out of me…
My mind quickly drifts into darkness as I lay there.
