《Lord Universe Creator》Chapter 7 "Ryu"

“Not good!” Joe immediately crushed the talisman in his hand and was turning pale from seeing a frightening view displaying in front of him.
************
Luc took a step forward and slowly released his origin energy within him. The amount of origin energy Luc had emitted caused his originally calm aura to become emitting crush mountains, however, the aura being released was only a minuscule amount but to the five-man group they felt like their bones were going to break under such immense pressure, in fact, they can already feel their bones cracking. They felt as if they were in the deepest part of the vast ocean. Upon facing such pressure bearing down on them, the five-man group was tightly clenching their fist to the point of blood dripping out.
‘What an overbearing aura!’ The five-man group had thought while tightly clenching their fist. They were covered in sweat from circulating their qi and mana under the constant increasing pressure from Luc’s aura. It was like trying to stay still within a raging storm at the sea. Just difficult.
Seeing the concentrated looks on the faces of the five-man group, Luc sneered. The way how Luc was portraying himself was like the Heavens itself sending heavenly punishment to those that had done gone against the wills of Heavens. The white glow within Luc’s eye was revolving intensely and if one looked at his eyes they would feel as if there were countless of swords pressed against their skin.
The surrounding natural Heavenly Yuan around Luc formed into a cloudy mist that enveloped a mile circumference. Although everybody cannot see the natural Heavenly Yuan surrounding them rotating like a tornado, with Luc as the eye, they did feel an incredible suction power towards Luc’s direction. But when the invisible natural Heavenly Yuan was condensed into a form everyone eyes widened, because they had never felt such pure and concentrated natural Heavenly Yuan before. Little did everybody knew that they were bearing witness to a man that was going to shake the four continents.
Luc slowly lifted his arm up and out in front of him with an open palm, the cloudy mist condensed into millions of droplets. Millions of the raindrop made from condensed natural Heavenly Yuan slowly revolving around Luc and was increasing its speed until it was rapidly rotating. If one was to look up into the sky, the view was like shooting stars flying across the starry sky endlessly. The natural Heavenly Yuan droplets now looked like white beams of light flying around Luc and company. Changing from an open palm to a pointing gesture millions of white beams of light froze in place for a split second before rushing towards the five-man group like a sky filled with arrows. Although it may have seemed like everything took awhile to happen, in truth, it only took the time one needed to breathe.

Facing the millions of white beams the five-man group had an extremely ashen-faced as if they had just seen a ghost. No, in truth it was even more frightening than seeing a ghost. Joe was standing there with a bewilderment expression of how frightening Luc was. Joe had looked down on Luc but was still caution but only until now he realized how much he had looked down on Luc. Not only Joe but Bo as well, facing the millions of white beam, Bo could tell what type of attack Luc had unleashed based on the white beams intense aura being emitted. Sharpness. Although everyone was in shock, the one in shock the most was Bo. It could be said the higher one’s pride is, the harder they crash.
Bo took pride in the fact that he was a genius in the path of cultivation, he was always ahead of his peers, he was even looked up to, and his greatest pride of all was gaining enlightenment of sword intent at the age of 14. However, everything came crashing down on Bo when he saw how far Luc had gained enlightenment of sword intent. He was always ahead of everyone and always looked up too, however, just now a person that looks younger than him had surpassed him in every aspect in cultivation and sword intent. Bursting out from anger, Bo had lost his cold and calm demeanor. Pulling out his sword from his sheath, Bo circulated his qi throughout his body to the maximum, which made him felt like he was about to explode from such intensity. Bringing his sword above his head and swinging it downwards and unleashing his sword intent towards Luc, but compared to Luc’s sword intent, it was as if an ant wanted to fight against an elephant. The difference was as vast as the Heaven and Earth.
When Bo’s sword intent collided against Luc’s sword intent it immediately disappeared, more like devoured and became a source of energy to Luc’s sword intent. How can Luc’s sword intent be like those of Bo’s when he was the one that created the universe? However, the hope that Bo had to destroy Luc’s sword intent was futile, and instead he was shredded into pieces, even his blood that flew out seemed like it evaporated, his soul was not even spared and was completely devoured from the wave of sword intent giving him no chance to enter the cycle reincarnation. Just the intense approaching aura from the wave of sword intent itself was enough to shred a cultivator at the 2nd level of Qi Condensation Stage into nothing.

Upon seeing Bo being shredded Joe was scared, however, his thoughts were still clear and immediately crushed the talisman in his hand while quickly ramming it onto the 4th young master Taric Bellavard’s chest without care of his force with the circumstance at hand. Instantly upon impact, 4th young master Taric Bellavard could be seen flying in the air like a kite that had the string cut for a moment while being engulfed in a thin purple light before vanishing into thin air.
Joe breathed out an air of relief, because if there were any mishaps to the 4th young master Taric Bellavard then his family wouldn’t be under the protection of the Bellavard family anymore. Just thinking about this, Joe felt glad, however, his gladness quickly changed into remorse. Being at the age of 38 Joe married the most beautiful women he had ever saw that gave birth to his two beautiful daughters that were twins and had recently turned 3. One could say that he was pretty much content with his life; however, he was guilty at this very moment. Guilty of leaving his beloved wife that was going to have to raise his two beautiful daughters without a father. He was grateful to have a wife that never cared about how he looked but his personality, that’s how she fell in love with him in the first place. No matter what, he always knew that his wife was out of his league yet she fell in love with him and not some noble. Her beauty was enough to make nobles want her as a concubine, however, she chose him instead of bathing in splendors and golds. Although she had chosen him as her husband, there were many nobles that wanted to lay hands on her and would go through any means just to have a taste of her beauty that could cause nobles to kill for her. This was why Joe had no other way out and could just sell himself as a bodyguard for one of the super-power houses so he can gain the protection of his family. Doing things he doesn’t want to but must, in order for his family to live a peaceful life he is willing to do anything. Luckily, his cultivation talent was higher than the rest of the participants to become a bodyguard in the Bellavard family and was selected for the 4th young master, Taric Bellavard.
“AHHH!”
A scream could be heard, looking towards the source of the sound, it was the burly, bearded-man. He was hit by the aura emanated from the wave of sword intent, one can hear the sound of flesh being ripped apart and blood gushing out before quickly vanishing into thin air. Upon seeing the burly, bearded-man die in such way, Joe could only smile wryly and close his eyes that contained sadness and embrace death as he was hit by the wave of sword intent aura.
The wave-like tsunami sword intent had not yet dissipated there but continued downwards towards the ground, immediately piercing through the ground like tofu the sword intent seems like it could continue forever. The intense sword intent Luc had unleashed was sent 20,000 miles under the ground before expanding and slicing up half of the Demonic Forest into nothing, only to leave 20,000 miles deep concave into the ground. This area later became uninhabitable from the intense sword intent that remained there for years to come, and only to leave a made up legend of an intense battle of the god-like experts.
A gasp escaped from a female in a golden gown that outlined her perfectly curved body.
“How strong is this young man?” Diana said with mix emotions as she felt the extremely dense sword intent that Luc had used to destroy have of the Demonic Forest while looking around at the vast and now plain concave land. However, just right after she had spoken out those words her vision started to turn black and the last thing she saw was the back of a handsome young man in golden robes.
‘Just who is this mysterious man?’ Her last thought went through her head as she fell backward unconscious, just before she fell back completely a young man in golden robes had caught her and swooped her off her feet to place her gently on the ground.
“What’s your name boy?”
With just the time it takes one to breathe Luc had already appeared in front of the red-haired youth and was looking at the black snake on the youth’s bare chest as Luc seems to be in a middle of thinking about something.

2/17 NOTICE: I'm putting this on hiatus, possibly permanently. I didn't want to spam with an "update chapter", so hopefully here and in the story blurb will get enough eyeballs. There are a couple reasons for ending SSA for now. 1) I wrote the next chapter but wasn't happy with it. I've been less and less satisfied with SSA's quality the more I thought about it. Part of the reason is... 2) I am seriously thinking about trying to publish some novels to help pay the bills, since I don't have my other source of income anymore. I have never asked for anything from SSA readers, no money, not even a review or rating. SSA is written for fun to amuse myself, primarily, and I would kind of feel bad actually charging someone money for something as unserious as that. I don't think it is good enough to ask anything in return. To use an analogy from music, SSA is more like a jam session with a bunch of friends. You're just chiling and having fun playing some music. I mean, if you are Mozart or even Eminem, your jam session is good enough to sell, but for an amateur beginner like myself, haha, no. If I want to publish something, I feel like I need to go the proper route of practice and rehearsals, which might be more similar to a classical concert performance. With SSA, I work from worldbuilding notes and a loose outline, but what you are essentially getting is the first draft with lots of so-called pantsing. Pushing out a web novel like this also means it is very difficult to go back and improve things without breaking everything else downstream. I wanted to try this "jamming" approach, as it was a good way to teach me about another aspect of writing, but to move forward, I think I need to hone my "classical" techniques, which emphasize rewriting, or at least, revising outlines. 3) While I intend to try to make $$$, my actual current goal is to "get gud". I've spent a lot of time recently trying to understand the self-publishing industry, and I'm pretty sure I can make some money by using short-term strategies with my current amateur skill level. But I've seen too many authors come and go/burnout, and really, the only way that I think I can enjoy writing and still make money on a long-term basis is to become a better writer. And the next step for me, which I haven't done much before, is to spend more time on rewriting and outlines. That is pretty much antithetical to the way SSA is developing. I've always been kind of 20/80 plotting/pantsing, but I want to spend a lot more time outlining before I even start writing. SSA jam sessions don't really fit my goal anymore. If you're curious about what's next, read on... Among other regrets, I regret not finishing SSA. It's the first story I've dropped, but then again, it's the first web novel I've attempted, so I suppose that's not a surprise. I don't think traditional web novel formats suit me that well. The whole SSA story I had loosely planned (beyond a first book or major arc) is way too large as well. Big story = good for neverending webnovel with Patreons, bad for penniless and fickle writer like me. I am currently outlining a complete trilogy to another story in great detail. I want the story to end concisely, and I also want the chance to really spend a lot of time on the full outline to spot pacing problems, character issues, lost themes, and so on. I'll still share this story on RR. What I intend to do is finish book 1, flash-publish the whole thing here for a few weeks, then publish on the big Zon. Repeat for books 2 and 3. The upcoming story will be about crafting heroes. The backdrop is an isekai-like setting, where elves will summon humans to their world as heroes, but the whole hero crafting business is still in its infancy. The elven mage researchers are figuring out how to imbue heroes with power, while the heroes are trying to figure out how to use the powers that they gain. Humans are the best hero templates because they are blank and have no intrinsic magic. Or at least that what the elves thought. The human MC has his own secrets... There will be some similarities with litrpgs, but I would call it more a progression fantasy or gamelit story. For example, the stats are very low, at least initially. Say we have a stat called Str. Going from Str = 1 to Str = 2 is a huge deal. Also, going from Dex = 0 to Dex = 1 is an even bigger deal. I guess you could call it a "low-stat litrpg", haha. Also, the heroes won't be gaining stats simply by killing things or leveling up. You can't increase stats arbitrarily, either. There will be rules to how stats can increase, and how they work with each other. The elven mages will be figuring out these rules in order to craft stronger and stronger heroes. Some inspiration will be from cultivation magic systems, but there won't be overt cultivation, at least for now. A theme I really want to explore is the idea of interactions. That includes things like hero crafter vs hero, tactics vs strategy, skill synergies, racial interactions (dwarves, elves, etc), and son. Yeah, so hero crafting. I'm super excited about this project and venturing into publishing. If you want to check out the upcoming story, you can follow my RR author profile to see when it drops here. Finally... THANK YOU TO EVERYONE! I'm very sorry that SSA is stopping, but I hope at least some of you will find the next story at least as enjoyable, if not more. Thanks to all the readers who gave SSA a shot. Big hug or solid fistbump to all of you, whichever you prefer! I hope this message is not a downer but an upper, because I am psyched!! -purlcray -------------- BLURB: Talen, youngest Master of the Koroi, makes his way to the Empire's capital to salvage his clan's fate. But the bustling city has few opportunities for the traditionalist. For the old sword clans are fading. With the rise of alchemy, gold can purchase strength that ordinarily took years of training to cultivate. Sword artists, once rare and accomplished, are quickly growing in number, especially among the wealthy noble class. Even with such alchemy, though, no one has advanced to the rank of Grandmaster in countless years. Talen's true dream is to walk the path of a sword artist to the very end while fulfilling his clan duties. And then the Swordgeists return, fabled founders of all sword arts, gods who had touched the world long ago and vanished. These myths turned into reality warn of a coming threat. Alongside this warning, they issue an invitation to the Sword System Academy, a path to power beyond the mortal realm. But first, they will hold an entrance exam... Story notes:Sword System Academia blends elements of western and asian fantasy such as xianxia and litrpg. I took parts from different genres I enjoyed and twisted them into my own creation. There will be an explicit system, both of the litrpg kind and the hard(ish) magic kind, but it is embedded within an academic structure that will develop over the course of the story. This is my attempt to design a unique type of system, the System Academia.
