Inside the royal palace dining hall.

The king sits at the far end of the table while the prince Jacob is seated at the other end. There are plates set for other people who seem to be absent on this particular night.

"It looks your older sister and younger brother are not attending dinner this evening..."

"Yes well you know Elana always held up in her room and Chris left on another one of his explorations just yesterday."

"Shame... I was hoping we could have a nice old family dinner like when your mother was still alive."

"Yes, that would be nice father but unfortunately, it can not happen."

The waiters and maids bring in the royal family meal a meaty dish served with very little vegetables.

"Well then, since it's only us let's get stuck in."

The king and prince start eating their food.

"So Jacob, I was watching the [Grand combat tournament] today and I saw your champion. He was most impressive."

"Yes, he was... I especially like it when he killed your champion"

"Alright, I get he is better than I and the other kings gave him credit for but don't forget he still has to face the other four kings’ champions before he can win."

"That is all true father but you forget that your champion was supposed to be the strongest so now Kaito has nothing to worry about."

"I wouldn't say that my champion was the strongest compared to the dragon legacy she was nothing special. And now he is the final rounds of the tournament that means he will be in constant danger inside and outside the arena."

"I wouldn't worry so much he is tougher the most give him credit for."

Chimera Hospital/ Room 106 (Kaito's Room)

"Arrgghh... My entire body feels like it was put into a blender."

"Well, you should be happy considering what happened really the only reason you are even alive is because of your freakish healing abilities."

Yeah, thank you blood magic.

"So doctor Apollo, when do you think I will be able to leave?"

"Well, most of you injuries are healed so tomorrow morning should be okay."

"Alright, thanks. And oh, doctor I would appreciate it if you didn't tell anyone about the tattoos on my body."

"Don't worry about it boy! We doctors know how to keep a secret or two even if it's as big as yours."

Doctor Apollo leaves my room. I'm currently in the hospital after my battle with the puppet I fainted from rapid blood loss so they took me to the closest hospital where doctor Apollo used his magic to stabilize and heal all my wounds.

The reason he saw my tattoos is because my clothes were ruined so took them away and replaced them with a hospital gown.

I get comfortable in my bed and get ready for sleep when I hear someone shouting.

"Kaito!! Does anyone know where Kaito is?"

"He's in room 106."

"Thanks!"

The door to my room get's thrown open.

"Kaito are you alright? I heard what happened to you."

I sit open to see Alice's face full of concern for me.

"I'm just fine Alice, I just got a few minor injuries."

"Minor!? I heard that you got almost hacked to pieces in your [Grand combat tournament] match and that raises an even bigger question what are you doing competing in the [Grand Combat tournament]?"

"I'm in it to win and where did you even hear these things"

"I was walking down the street when I heard someone say your name then I heard all about what happened at the arena so I've been rushing around to each hospital in the city looking for you!!!"

She really cares.

"You didn't have to do that."

"I know I didn't have to but I wanted to."

"Thanks..."

"So want to play a board game I brought with me to the city?"

"Sure."

She pulled out a board game from a bag she is carrying around. It's similar to chess except replace some of the pieces with things from this world, while we are playing the game we begin to talk about a lot of things.

There is a knocking at the door a nurse walks in with a tray full of my food.

"Sorry to interrupt but it's time for dinner."

"Okay, we can stop."

The nurse places the food onto my lap then leaves. I think I saw her wink at me before she left. I start eating my food and to my surprise, it's not bad compared to the hospital food they serve back on my world.

GRRROOOOWWWWLLL

A large growl comes from Alice's stomach a look over to see that she is looking down with a meaning red face.

"Are you hungry?"

"Well... I didn't eat much because I thought we were going out for dinner."

"Alright then... Here."

I hand my tray over to her.

"What? No! I couldn't eat your food you still recovering."

"Don't worry about it, my injuries are almost fully healed and I don't eat much anyway so have at it."

She accepts the tray of food.

"Thanks..."

She starts to eat the food, I just lie back and close my eyes.I feel a tug at my clothes I open my eyes.

"Here, I saved you the pudding."

"Are you sure you want me to eat it?"

"Yes."

I take the pudding.

"Thanks."

I finish the chocolate flavored pudding. I start to feel tired.

"Alice, I'm a little tired so I'm going to sleep now"

"Okay, I'm going to pack up then go to an inn."

I lie back down and close my eyes to get some sleep.

I'm falling down a black hole everything around me is screaming in pain I try to cover my ears with my hands but the screaming justs get stronger.

I see someone ahead... It's a girl, she's made out of white burning light so I can't make out her face.

I reach her and wrap my arms around her she wraps her arms around me we continue to freefall holding each other. I feel at peace in this world.

The screaming has stopped, my heartbeat has slowed down and for the first time in my entire life, I have complete happiness. No memories, no purpose just her light.

"You're all alone..."

The girl starts to turn to red then disintegrates in my arms the screaming returns. Only much stronger, so strong my ears start to bleed.

All my bad memories return to me at once like a tidal wave but I don't feel at peace instead I just feel empty complete soul-crushing emptiness. I don't know why but I start to cry and sobbing eventually I curl up into a ball and free fall like that alone crying and pathetic and I don't even know why.

I wake up drenched in sweat breathing heavily I look around the room the food tray is gone along with the board game and bag, I guess she went home.

"Hmmm..."

I look down at the side of my bed and sitting on a chair with her head resting on the bed is Alice.

I don't know why but a smile creeps onto my face. I get out of my bed carefully to not disturb Alice.

I pick her up gently then place her in the free bed next mine I place the blanket over her. Then I return to bed but I can't get to sleep as that girl’s words are still ringing in my head.

Hello everyone who reads my novel I would just like to congratulate you all because you have reached the end of VOL 1 I know I did a few more chapters than most but who cares now I'll be back with VOL 2 in about a month or maybe less I'll see how I go well then see ya
