《Dark Chronicles》CH 50 Castle siege pt 1

At the destroyed courtyard where Kaito and Vega had their fight last night. City guards surrounded the crater collecting whatever evidence they could while trying to keep the public out.
A man looking in his 40's wearing a long brown coat with plate armor underneath looked deep at the crater like he was trying to decipher a great riddle.
"Detective Duncan?"
"Yes."
"The search team has gone over the entire crime scene; all they could find is this snake mask."
The city guard passes the man a sealed bag containing the snake mask once used by the man named Vega.
"Were there any bodies found?"
"No sir."
"Great, dismissed."
"Yes, sir."
The man named Duncan returned his focus to the crater after the guards had left.
"Just who could have done this?"
Across from the crime scene high up on a rooftop overlooking the whole courtyard stood two people. An old man with gray hair tied back, the man was dressed in a black tuxedo with a trimmed gray beard, next to him a young lady with purple hair; she wore a black assassins armor with a silver face plate covering her delicate features.
"So this is where Vega met his end…?"
"Yes, he was completing a contract on someone called Kaito."
"Do you think this Kaito could have killed Vega?"
"No, Vega was the 6th most wanted criminal in the world Kaito, on the other hand, is just some punk who has semi pass-full skill. If I had to guess whoever did this, I would say is the same person who wiped out the RockFist gang."
"So who did this is powerful enough to kill one of us but that doesn't explain why they would protect this Kaito person and Sister Trish's orphanage."
"If I had to guess I would say that before Vega and his men could get to Kaito, this unknown person came out of nowhere and attacked Vega."
"What about the whole Sister Trish’s orphanage and what they have to do in all this?"

"My best guess would be that whoever is doing all this said that to just throw us off their track."
"I don't know. I still think we should follow up on it."
"Really? Why?"
"Just call it intuition."
"Fine, I will ask the mistress to send a few people around to watch the place."
"Thanks, Aldwin."
"Don't mention it, Pandora."
Well, it seems Sister Trish has put my money to good use. She has fixed the place up and even paid someone to build a wall around the orphanage with a front gate.
I was hiding in the shadows of a nearby alleyway watching the orphanage just in case someone like that guy with the snake mask comes by.
Luckily, nothing happened while I was away at my match. I see all of the kids playing on the new playground that Sister Trish bought. I get a funny almost happy feeling inside my chest.
Nighttime has fallen and everything’s still fine with the orphanage; the children have all gone to bed and now Sister Trish is just cleaning the yard.
Three shadowy figures appear out of the darkness of a nearby street and make a charge towards the orphanage. Before they can get close, I've already invaded their bodies with my blood and stopped them. I force them over to the alleyway I'm hiding in.
"Now you three, I can kill you anytime. I wish you're going to tell me where your base is."
I release partial control of one of them so they can talk.
"Screw you, we are noble assassins of the White Devil order!"
"So what? That title will not save you now."
I kill him instantly seeing as how he has far too many pride for me to work with.
"Now then, you two, what you just saw was me kill this guy. See how he's on the floor all dead? Now then tell me what I want to know or you die like him, your choice."
"We will never tell you anything."
"Alright then, let's see how you respond to torture."

I twist one of the assassin’s arm into a spiral shape, then I burst his eyeball by boiling all the blood in it. He tried to scream every time I broke something new but no sound escapes his throat because I shut off his vocal cords until I need him to talk. I could see the fear in the other one's eyes.
"So, gonna to talk now?"
"Never..."
Wow, what a fucking cliched line.
"Alright."
I flick my hand like cutting the strings off a puppet the body of the assassins falls to the floor lifeless.
"Since this is your last chance, I'm not going to kill you now so that means even if you don't tell me what I want to know I'm just going to keep on torturing you until you talk. So, where is your base?"
"It's underground inside the nobles district I can lead you there. Just please don't hurt me!"
"Thanks for the info; Now is there any more people coming after this orphanage?"
"No, we were the only ones sent here."
"Good, now here's what's going to happen: I'm going to release you; you're going to show me to your base and if anything is suspicious you will die slowly, understood?"
"Yes."
I release the assassin from my control. I follow her out of the slums district and through a secret tunnel that was built into the wall, we continued walking through the nobles district then we went down into the sewers of the noble district. When we finally stopped, we were just outside a wall with torches along it.
"I'm guessing this is the entrance.
"Yes."
"Open it."
The assassin places their hand onto a single brick, pushing it in then does the same thing to six more bricks. That section of the wall moved back then to the side and what was left was a passageway lit by torches.
"This leads straight to your base?"
"Yes."
"Perfect."
I kill the assassin. I walk into the tunnel stepping over the dead assassins body, there were a few detection enchantments along the way but they were easy to get rid of. I walked out from the tunnel to see a castle. It was made from pitch black material there where massive towers along the outskirts of the main building. I could kind of make out people moving around inside the compound.
My night just got a lot more interesting.
'Drake is there any kind of protection placed around the castle?'
'No, but there is a large magical signal coming from within the castle.'
'Can you pinpoint it?'
'Yes, if I were to get closer to it.'
'Okay'
Time for me to get castle raiding. I form a few smaller version of my sonic blood bomb, I aim them at the base of the towers I shoot them off.
BOOM!
BOOM!
BOOM!
The towers crumble, closing off some exit from the castle and killing a lot of people. I continue to rain down the bombs onto the castle, I can hear screams coming from the castle. I don't really care about it, it just gives me a place to aim my next bomb.
Inside the main chamber. A beautiful woman is resting in her chambers listing to the explosions going off around there; hoping no one will find her and the people inside this particular chamber.
"Aldwin, what is going on out there?"
"From what I hear from the survivors mistress: we are under attack from an unknown enemy."
"How many are there?"
"We do not know mistress; all we have seen of the enemy are the explosions caused by them."
"Well find them, send out as many men we have left."
"We cannot mistress. The bombs have sealed off most exits and our forces are scattered, we have no way of retaliating, mistress."
"So what are you telling me to do just sit here and wait until the enemy decides to end me?"
"No mistress, I'm am saying we just have to wait until an opportunity shows itself to us so we can counter attack."
"Fine… Where is Pandora?"
"I have not seen her since the explosions started."
"WHAT? Has anyone seen Pandora?"
The room was silent except for the continued explosion sounds.
"Dammit first Vega and now Pandora. Why is this happening?"
