《Fighting Spirit (MHA)》Chapter 6: The USJ Part 1

Stepping onto the bus that was going to take them off campus, his bat over his shoulders, Katsuki just took one of the first available open seats.
A couple minutes later, everyone was seated and the bus was on its way.
Turning to Aizawa, Katsuki decided to ask a question.
"So how far is it to this 'facility' teach?"
Aizawa didn't even look up from his papers where he was sitting at the front as he answered.
"It's only 2 and a half minute drive. The facility we're using is still on campus, just more distantly located from the main building."
Spending a minute just looking out the windows, Katsuki once more appreciated just how massive the UA campus was. Buying up all this property must have cost a fortune.
Finally, the bus stopped in front of a massive dome structure.
As the bus pulled to a stop, their robotic bus driver spoke up.
"We have arrived at your destination! Please disembark from the bus in an orderly fashion so the bus may depart. Should you require further trans-"
Aizawa silenced the bot by hitting a button on its body.
"All right, everyone get off."
As soon as everyone had gotten off the bus, Mina spoke up as they all watched it drive away.
"Um, Mr.Aizawa, how are we getting back to school?"
Ignoring their looks, Aizawa kept walking as he answered.
"I have another bus scheduled for the end of the class period. And in the case of an accident, I am able to call for a bus at any time. Now get moving. You're wasting time."
As they stepped towards the front entrance, they noted the astronaut themed hero waiting for them.
"Hello everyone! I have been waiting for you."
Katsuki idly adjusted his grip on his bat as everyone gushed about the new teacher. Apparently they were a big rescue hero. Ochaco in particular seemed very excited.
"I love thirteen! She's one of my favorite heroes!"
Thirteen recaptured the class attention, rubbing the back of their helmet with one hand.
"Let's head inside without delay everyone."
Stepping through the entrance, the class all marveled at the massive facility laid in front of them.
From their vantage point at the top of the massive staircase, the class could see several different areas spread out in front of them.
"This place is huge!"
"Look at that massive waterslide!"
"Are those all actually collapsed buildings?!"
"Look at those domes!"
Taking this as an opportunity, no small amount of pride in her voice, Thirteen introduced the facility.
"A shipwreck, a landslide, fires, hurricanes. All of this and more to be found in this training ground I designed. I call it, the Unforeseen Simulation Joint!"
The rescue hero posed on one foot, pointing towards the class.
Sighing, Aizawa walked over to the still posing Thirteen.
"Thirteen, where's All Might? He was supposed to meet us here?"
Thirteen stepped closer to the eraser hero.
"He got delayed this morning due to unexpected circumstances."
As Thirteen explained, she held up 3 fingers in some kind of signal.
"That's the height of irrationality. I guess it can't be helped. Shall we get started?"
Thirteen waved her hands.
"Before we do, I have one or two points."
Then she thought for a second.
"Or three. Actually four. Five, six wait seven…"
The class sighed as the number of points kept going up.

Finally Thirteen seemed to find her footing.
"As I am sure many of you are aware, my quirk is called Black Hole. It can suck in and tear apart anything."
The class nodded along, Ochaco piping in.
"And you've used it to save so many people!"
"Yes, but it is a quirk that can very easily be used to kill. I have no doubt there are several of you with similar abilities."
Thirteen's voice turned deadly serious.
"In our super-powered society, the use of quirks is heavily restricted and monitored. This system may seem stable, but we must never forget that all it takes is one wrong move with an uncontrollable quirk for people to die."
"During your first test with Aizawa, you all learned to make use of your hidden potential. During the battle trials with All Might, you all experienced the danger that your abilities can pose to others. This class… will show you a new perspective!"
Thirteen gestured towards the facility.
"You will learn how to utilize your quirks to save lives. Those of us who have chosen to become heroes, our abilities are not meant to just do harm. I hope you all leave here today with the understanding that as a hero, we are all meant to help people."
Thirteen bowed at that point.
"That is all! I thank you for listening!"
Everyone in the class applauded Thirteen's speech, Katsuki included. He could definitely respect that kind of determination and drive.
Aizawa interrupted while checking his watch.
"Great. Now, first off-"
Aizawa was interrupted by the main facility lights sparking and turning off, leaving the dome shadowed and illuminated only by what natural light came through them roof.
A moment later, an odd swirling sound emanated from the main plaza.
Katsuki gripped his bat tighter as a purple mist formed in the center of the facility, expanding outwards into a dark circle.
A moment later, a hand could vaguely be seen reaching out of that cloud.
Aizawa quickly put on his goggles and called out orders.
"Huddle up and don't move! Thirteen, protect the students!"
Looking towards the disturbance in the plaza, Katsuki moved his bat to the ready position as the mob of villains advanced on the stairs.
Before he could do anything however, Aizawa loosened his capture gear.
Panicking, Momo turned to Thirteen.
"Teacher, what about the trespasser sensors?"
Thiteen seemed somewhat panicked as she got into a combat stance.
"The USJ has them, of course, but normally all teachers receive an alert should the sensors trigger. My communicator hasn't received anything…"
Half and half spoke up at that point.
"So it's likely that one of the villains have a quirk that could disable the sensors. They picked an isolated location, with few heroes present, so they can't be as dumb as this attack suggests. It's very well coordinated and planned. They must have some kind of objective."
Aizawa cut off any further discussion.
"Thirteen! Begin evacuation and attempt to contact the school. Kaminari, try to use your costume's integrated transmitter."
Kaminari nodded.
"G-Got it!"
"Thirteen, I'll leave it to you."
At that, Aizawa directly leapt down the stairs, making several members of the class gasp in shock.
Deciding teach probably had things in hand for the time being, Kasuki rushed with the others towards the door, pulling ahead fairly quickly.
A brief glance over his shoulder showed Aizawa wrecking face.
Thirteen led the group from the front.

"We need to hurry up and evacuate, double time!"
Just as they were approaching the door, a massive shadowy figure manifested in front of them, cutting off their exit.
"I will not allow that."
The group slowed to a halt, facing the villain in front of them.
"My greetings. We are the League of Villains. It may be presumptuous of us, but we have invited ourselves in to this bastion of heroism, UA High School…"
Katsuki analyzed the villain as they kept talking, unwrapping the ribbon he'd asked to be added to his bat.
'Shadowy body, obvious eyes…'
"…to end the life of All Might, the symbol of peace."
The shadow visibly looked around.
'No clear form, seems to shift his own shape…'
Katsuki started slowly spinning his bat via the ribbon, one end wrapped around his hand.
"We were under the impression that he would be here today…Did plans change?"
'Metal brace, wait a sec, metal brace!'
"Regardless my role remains unchanged-"
Taking advantage of the villain's distraction, Katsuki cranked his shoulder back and slung his bat on a direct course for the villain's body whizzing through the air.
Katsuki clicked his tongue when he didn't hear the impact he'd hoped for as the bat struck the paving stones beneath.
Giving the ribbon a yank, Katsuki pulled the bat back to his hands, catching it by the handle.
When the dust cleared, the class saw the villain visibly shift back into position as he spoke again. Katsuki started winding up for another sling.
"That was a bit close. Yes, students you may be, but you are still the best of the best. Perhaps I was a bit complacent."
The villain seemed to flood outwards and engulf the students.
"My job is to scatter you all and torture you to death!"
Katsuki heard some of his classmates shifting as he tried to rush the villain, only to suddenly find himself falling through rain filled air into a cityscape, wind howling in his ears.
Before he could hit the ground, Katsuki threw his bat towards one of the nearby buildings.
Suddenly Katsuki's ribbon jerked and turned his fall into a swing.
Adjusting his posture, Katsuki managed to hit the wall feet first and brace.
Looking down at the ground beneath him, Katsuki spotted one of his classmates getting surrounded by villains in the middle of the flooding street.
Giving the ribbon a firm yank, Katsuki managed to force his bat loose and dropped towards the street from a far more manageable distance.
Hitting the ground, Katsuki started rushing towards the encirclement as he heard the bat impact the ground behind him.
The villains all turned to look at the loud impact, but before they could react, Katsuki gave his ribbon another yank, sending his bat flying towards him.
With a twist he promptly buried it in the gut of the nearest villain as he rushed towards his classmate.
This close he could easily tell that it was the rockhead that talked to animals.
Keeping his bat in a firm grip, Katsuki went back to back with his classmate as the rain poured down on them.
Keeping an eye on the villains, Katsuki started a sitrep with his classmate.
"You good?"
Katsuki saw him nod out of the corner of his eye.
"Good."
The villains surrounding them suddenly spoke up.
"Well if it isn't two fresh faced-"
Deciding to take the initiative, Katsuki rushed the encirclement, spinning up his bat as he did.
"TALKING ISN'T A FREE ACTION ASSHOLES!"
Slamming his bat into the first villain who let out a scream on impact, Katsuki quickly yanked the bat back into his hands as the villains closed in.
In close distances like this it was much harder to get the bat up to speed between impacts, so Katsuki needed to focus on hand to hand with rapid attacks.
Finishing off the three villain's that had rushed him, Katsuki noted a villain trying to get the jump on Rockhead.
Winding up, Katsuki chucked his bat at the villain, making them grunt as the bat nailed them in the side then crumple to the ground in pain.
Making sure the coast was mostly clear, Katsuki turned to his classmate.
"You doing okay?"
They nodded and Katsuki twitched. Struggling to remember, Katsuki thought back.
"Your name was…Koda? Right?"
"…yes…"
Katsuki surveyed their surroundings, spotting a group of villains rushing down the street towards them from what seemed like the entrance.
"Alright, here's the plan. We need to get out of here as fast as possible. If these morons plan to throw down with All Might, lets not try to correct them while they're acting like fucking idiots."
Katsuki pointed in the opposite direction of the main entrance.
"You start running that way. I'll beat up this group of villains and catch up.
No dome like this has just one entrance since that would be a major safety hazard. Best bet is the opposite side has something like an emergency exit. That should leave us near the outer edge of the USJ.
Once we get there, we start looking for exits or maintenance doors. We need to get outside the jamming radius and call for backup as soon as possible."
Rushing the charging villains, Katsuki just hoped they could get a message out before the situation got even shittier.
After putting down the villain squad, Katsuki sprinted to catch up to Koda.
A few moments later he caught up, scanning the streets as they approached the edge of the dome.
When they finally managed to reach the edge, they soon found what they were looking for. The glowing green 'EXIT' sign a beacon of hope.
Going through it, they found themself on the deserted outer edge of the main USJ dome near the stairs. It didn't seem like the villains had thought spreading out to this area worth it.
Moving along the outer edge of the USJ, they quickly noted a few supply lanes that seemed to be meant for trucks delivering materials.
Running down the sides, they soon managed to reach the cargo doors that would let trucks into the USJ, only to have a slight issue.
The doors were shut with a card reader that took a teacher's ID card to open. Looking to the side however, there were the emergency doors.
The only issue was the warning written across the push bar in red Kanji.
'If pushed, alarm will sound.'
Looking over at Koda, Katsuki spoke to him.
"Okay, here's the plan. You rush out these doors as fast as possible and get into the trees.
Once there, you ask as many of your bird friends as possible to swarm towards the main UA campus. Got it?"
Koda signed towards Katsuki.
'But what about you?'
Katsuki swung the bat over his shoulders.
"I'm gonna move around the outer edge and look for the rest of the class. They probably got dropped in the other zones. I'm gonna go looking. You ready?"
Koda nodded shakily.
"On 3."
