《The Legend Of Drog》Chapter 11: After 10 Years!

"Because you awakened your soul dantian, you now possess another type of Qi – divine Qi and because you have this Qi, you are now able to cultivate and execute soul martial skills, not only that, you also are now able to infuse the divine Qi into your other martial skills," Liu Ri said.
Drog tilted his head in confusion. "What are soul martial skills and what is this divine Qi?"
"For the first part of the question… soul martial skills are the skills that use divine Qi instead of normal Qi and these skills are vastly different from normal martial skills, once you learn the skills of both types you will know the difference yourself." She thought, "That said teaching him a soul skill would do more harm than good, I shouldn't teach him any soul skills until the heaven realms are within his reach.
"For the second part, as your normal dantian has Qi, your soul dantian has divine Qi. When you utilize divine Qi you will see an increase in skill's strength… let me give you an example. Let's say you are using an F-rank skill. Executing this skill with divine Qi instead of normal Qi would make the skill become a B-rank skill."
Drog frowned, "What about normal Qi? Are we supposed not to use it after awakening soul dantians?" He thought, "No, that can't be. The core of a martial skill is normal Qi. It is used to cultivate martial skills, it wouldn't make any sense not to use normal Qi when executing the skill…"
"What would happen if one used both Qi's to execute a martial skill?" he asked.
Liu RI's face showed surprise which was not seen by Drog as she was talking to him from the pendant. "He really is smart," she thought. "That's right, you should use both Qi's together when executing martial skills."
"I was right?" he thought.
"You see, it will not increase skills rank from F-rank to B-rank as when divine Qi is used alone but rather increase it from F-rank all the way up to A-rank," she said.
Drog nodded. "I see," he said with relief. Drog was relieved that normal Qi wouldn't become useless to him over time. He believed that everything that he put in the time to achieve would never become useless.

"Is this divine Qi like normal Qi, will I be only able to use 5% of it as my talent is of the lowest grade?" he asked.
"Yes, you will only be able to use 5% of your total divine Qi." She thought, "His devourer took the form of a dragon, this alone will put him ahead of others cultivators of the heaven realm. The quantity of divine Qi he now possesses is an absurd amount and it will only grow as he traverses the realms of heaven, even 5% of his soul dantian Qi will make him jump through bottlenecks and foundation strengthenings."
"You said that I will know the differences between martial skills and soul martial skills once I learn both of them but can you give me examples of what kind of martial skills and soul martial skills there are?" he asked.
"Martial skills in general whether they are martial skills or soul martial skills are categorized into ranks and they go from F-rank to SSS rank."
Normal martial skills can be put into 5 categories: Weapon Skills, Fist skills, Leg skills, Movement skills and Body Cultivation Skills… I won't tell you anything about soul martial skills as its meaningless to do so at this point."
"Just tell me!"
"I won't, it's meaningless to you at this point. Listen, you will not encounter anyone who can use divine skills for a very long time and I mean a very long time." She thought, "It might take him more than thousand years to reach that point."
"No knowledge is meaningless, just tell me!" he retorted.
Liu Ri sighed, "Don't make me repeat myself!"
Drog narrowed his eyes and after a moment of silence sighed and thought, "Well its fine, I will learn of it by myself, I doubt that there are no records of soul martial skills."
Drog looked around the shack and noticed that there was nothing in a ten-yard radius around him. "Weren't there more things inside this room?"
"There were but once you awakened your soul dantian your body has caused an explosion and everything around you in ten yards radius were destroyed."
Drog nodded, "I see." He stood up and frowned. "These rags are too short for me, half of my legs and arms are showing," he thought.

"Drog, you should go and find a sect to join."
"I am going to the sword sect. I have some unfinished business there."
"Is it that Go?"
Drog nodded, "Yes, he has a lesson that is ten years overdue." He thought, "Now that I think about it, I don't even know where the sword sect is… I don't know but Big Sister Ri should. I should also be able to find adult sized clothes in the village."
Drog walked back to the village.
"Nothing changed… how boring," he thought as he looked around the village. "I should go find Big Sister Ri, I will get both the information and clothes from here." He walked back to the old building where he, Go, Ro and No used to live. Drog pushed the door open and when he did, he heard a THUMP! sound, the door fully opened and he saw a little boy on his buttocks several steps from the door.
The little boy's eyes teared up and he started crying and weeping sounds echoed through the building.
"What happened, Jin!" a voice came from inside the house and a moment later a woman appeared. She on the ground saw her weeping son and she wanted to scold whoever made him cry but once her eyes fell on the youth in front of her, her body froze and she uttered a single word, "Drog?"
"Long time no see, Big Sister Ri."
Big Sister Ri stared at Drog in shock, she was so shocked that she forgot about her crying son. She took a step forward and mumbled, "Drog is it really you?"
Drog nodded, "Yes, it's me." She walked several steps closer and she in another few moments walked past her own son. Drog remained – unmoving. He only looked at her with a smile.
When she walked past the boy, the boy saw her in front of him and he hugged her leg, "Mommy!" he called out. Only now she reacted, she glanced back and saw a little boy hugging her leg while crying. After a breath of time passed, she furrowed her eyebrows and shouted out, "Jin, shut up!"
The boy reacted and weeping sounds stopped. With silence returned, Big Sister Ri looked towards Drog but before she could say even a single word, he said, "Can you get me some bigger clothes, Big Sister Ri?"
Big Sister Ri nodded, "Yes… I can." She shook her head, "No, Drog where the hell were you! Where were you for the last ten years!" she shouted out.
"Big Sister Ri is that your son?" He thought, "Or just some brat that is just overly attached to you. Well, it has nothing to do with me either way."
"Don't try to change the subject Drog, where were you for the last ten years?!"
"I was here and there."
Big Sister Ri frowned, "Where specifically? And why did you run away?"
"Big Sister Ri can you first give me clothes that would fit me first?"
She nodded her head, "Alright, once I give you your clothes you better tell me what you did for the last ten years and in great detail."
Drog raised the corner of his lips and thought, "One goal is accomplished, now to get the information about the whereabouts of the sword sect."
"Jin let go of my foot." She said after looking down at the little boy hugging her foot tightly.
"Mommy," he softly said.
"What is it, Jin?"
"I don't like him!" he whispered.
"He is my little brother, he is really nice and won't do you any harm."
"I don't like him!" he firmly whispered.
Big Sister Ri shook her head, "Let go of my foot." He nodded and did as he was told. Big Sister Ri walked over to the other room and soon reappeared with a white martial artist robe. "This is my husband's robe, take it."
Drog smiled and took the robe from Big Sister's Ri's hands and quickly put it on.
"Tell me where were you for the last ten years?"
"Why don't we sit down first or do you want to talk as we stand?"
Big Sister Ri nodded, "Alright, let's sit down."

Tales from the Triverse
Tales from the Triverse is part detective drama, part fantasy adventure and part space opera. I’m influenced by the likes of Iain M Banks, Isaac Asimov and ND Stevenson and work including The Wire and Gotham Central. It begins with an incident two hundred years ago which crashed three parallel universes together. Portals open up in 18th century London, sending England down a very different path. We pick up events in the 1970s, with the Metropolitan Police having established a new department to handle portal-related criminal activity. The story is about intolerance, immigration, multiculturalism and power. It’s about what happens when incompatible viewpoints are weaponised to seed discontent, and the efforts of some to create a fairer world. In the tradition of the best science fiction, fantasy and crime fiction, I’m using the setting to examine themes that matter to me in the real world. Who is it for?If you like science fiction or fantasy, or a mix of both, this is for you. It’s my first foray into crime fiction, but I hope if you’re a fan that you’ll enjoy yourself - especially if you’re looking for something a bit different. I write fiction that is optimistic, progressive and empathetic. Bad things can happen to good people in the stories, but the overall arc tends to be hopeful. Note that if it were a movie, Tales from the Triverse would be a 15 certificate in the UK.
