《The Legend Of Drog》Chapter 2: Sect Admissions

"The sect's admission tests are still a few hours away …" Drog's stomach grumbled in the middle of her sentence and she said, "You are hungry?"
"Yes," Drog said as he nodded his head.
A sudden realisation flashed onto her, "We did leave before you had the chance to eat… Very well let's go get something edible"
"Yes, Big Sister Ri." Drog nodded in acknowledgement and followed her as she led him through the city and into the small shop.
The shop they entered had a counter and six tables. At the counter - a middle-aged lady worked while four of the six tables were occupied by other people.
Big Sister Ri with Drog following closely along approached the counter, "Excuse me, can you give me two meat buns and two green teas."
"Right away, miss." A middle-aged lady bowed her head.
Two breaths of time passed. "Here are your two buns and two green teas" The middle-aged shopkeeper lady put both the meat buns and two teas on the counter.
Drog looked at the counter and saw steam rise up from both the teas and meat buns, "The mean buns look delicious." He thought.
Big Sister Ri took and passed the two buns to Drog, "Carry these, let's go to a table." After passing the buns she took two jade cups and together with Drog walked over to an open table.
They both sat down at the opposite sides, Big Sister Ri put one cup on Drog's side of the table and one to her own side, "Can you pass me a meat bun?"
Drog extended his hand and passed one meat bun to Big Sister Ri, "Thank you, Drog." She said with a smile.
Drog looked at the other meat bun in his hand; his stomach grumbled and he bit into it. "Delicious!" He mumbled. After chewing and gulping down a bite - he was surprised by the taste of the bun. Drog couldn't believe that a meat bun could be so delicious. It was ten times tastier than the meat bun, he ate before transmigrating into this world.
After wolfing down the meat bun – Drog sipped some of the tea and he once again was surprised by the taste, from the buns to the tea – the food he ate in this continent was far better than the food he ate on earth.
Drog leisurely sipped the sea. "Drog?" He raised his eyes from the tea and met the eyes of Big Sister Ri, "You really have changed Drog."
Sweat poured down his back and he asked as calmly as he could, "How so?"
"You seem like an entirely different person."
Drog shook his head, "I just grew up." He sipped the tea one more time and thought, "Even if I wanted to act like the original Drog, it's not how I am. I should just be myself."
Few moments passed and Drog finished his tea entirely, his eyes moved to Big Sister Ri and saw her looking at him. "You took your time, didn't you." Drog scratched his head in response and laughed lightly.
"There is still an hour until the sect admission tests - before it, I will walk you through the process. Pay attention."
Drog smiled and nodded, "Yes, Big Sister Ri."
"There are three selections, you have to pass all three selections to be admitted to the sect."

"The first selection is a physique test which will test your physique."
Drog frowned at her words, "Physique?"
"Yes this is the test solely to find any children with special physiques and if one possesses such a physique they are admitted to the sect immediately. But don't worry everyone receives a pass for the test - no matter what." Drog nodded in acknowledgement.
"The second selection is, the will selection."
"What is will selection?" Drog showed a confused expression.
"One of the elders of the sect will unleash some pressure; you will have to endure until half the testees remain."
"The final selection is the talent selection. Your talent will be categorised into one of the ranks, you just have to have E rank talent and you will be considered as passed."
"What are the talent ranks?"
"They go from F talent to A rank talent"
Drog still confused asked, "What does it mean to have F-rank talent or an A-rank talent?"
"Your limits" She stated calmly.
"My limits?" Drog repeated her words.
"That's right, the more talented individual will cultivate faster, have better comprehension and would reach higher heights."
"So If I am tested as F rank talent?"
"It basically means you won't get anywhere in your life, and you will be labelled as trash."
"That's really harsh but I guess that's the rule of this world – the rule of every world. It's the same as on earth but on earth - the trash is the one who doesn't fit into society." Thought Drog.
Big Sister Ri stood up as she dusted her clothes off, "Let's go, the tests will be starting soon." She said, "I hope you pass Drog."
Drog nodded his head, "Thank you, Big Sister Ri." He thought, "I will pass. After all, I have already decided to become the strongest under the heavens."
They soon arrived, at the area where tests were being held. It was a huge courtyard with a platform in the middle. "From here you are on your own Drog, good luck." Drog in response nodded his head and went forward into the crowd of children.
In few breaths of time, an elder came up on the platform; he addressed the children in a loud voice, "Welcome to the admission of Sword sect! The selections will now commence! One by one please go to the building behind me. Inside you will find the elder – he will be testing your physiques."
With the words, the children one by one started entering the building behind the platform. Drog had to wait for three entire hours before it was his turn.
He entered and he saw a big open room - in the middle of this room stood a man with a white beard. "Your name?" The elder asked.
"My name is Drog."
"Perform a punch for me, Drog!" The elder said with a smile.
Drog nodded and with one motion, he punched; as he had practised martial arts in earth he knew how to both throw a punch and a kick or so he thought.
SWOOSH!
"Perform a kick!"
SWOOSH!
"Run a few laps!"
Drog did as he was told once again.
The elder nodded, "No special physique, you may go through the door and into the next room."

Drog nodded and walked through the door; into the next room. The room that he entered was very large and full of children but there was no elder present. The children present had already formed small groups and they conversed with each other.
"I guess I will have to wait." Drog thought. He walked to the corner of the room and sat down. He didn't wish to talk with the children as his actual age was twenty-one. As he sat he looked at the children gathered and in the crowd he saw one group of children. These three children were exactly the ones that killed the previous Drog – Go, Ro and No. Go and Ro were six years old while Ro was the same age as Drog five. Drog just shook his head and averted his gaze from them.
Four more hours passed and the elder appeared in the room.
"The second test will now commence, currently there are two hundred of you and only a hundred will remain. Let's begin!"
The elder without waiting for anything unleashed pressure upon every single child in the room.
Three children immediately fell on to the ground - unconscious.
Drog blinked his eyes and thought, "I don't feel anything."
With each passing moment, more and more children fell to the ground while Drog remained completely unfazed. Three more breaths of time passed and even more, children fell to the ground. When forty children fell down, Drog still kept standing tall without any change in expression. When the eightieth child fell, Drog just slightly frowned. The reason why he was so calm, was because of his past life. One needs to have a strong mental fortitude to survive in the modern world. And for this reason, the mental pressure they all received during this test, was like a normal day for Drog. In no time at all a hundred children had fallen down.
Looking around the area Drog spotted his three bullies. They were all breathing deeply as if they were exhausted by the test. Drog just shook his head and turned his eyes towards the elder.
"Congratulations to you all that passed. You can all start heading out of the building. The last selection will be held outside and will be a public event witnessed by all." The selection was made public for several reasons. One was that the spectators could witness the birth of the genius and two it was a show of power for the Sword sect.
They all headed outside one by one; when Drog left - he saw a huge crowd formed outside and it was quite nosy. Drog looked through the crowd but he didn't see anyone that he could recognise. He was specifically looking for his Big Sister Ri but as he didn't find her, he turned his eyes away. But even when he didn't see her, she was standing in the crowd - watching.
Once all the children were outside, the elder looked over the gathered crowd and the children, "The public martial talent examination will now begin!" He spoke in a loud clear voice.
The crowd started murmuring between each other. They were all curious to see what kind of disciples would be joining the sword sect.
"I doubt there is anyone here with D-rank talent and above. After all, all these children are all orphans" He thought and sighed inwardly, "Let's get this over with."
"Arol, come up," The elder loudly announced.
After the elder's call, Arol walked through the other children and rose up the platform. The elder drew out a blue stone, "Place your hand on this stone, Arol. Let's see what kind of talent you have."
"Yes, elder." Arol nodded.
The crowd all looked at Arol, they all watched in silence as Arol put his hand on the stone. A moment passed and the stone showed no signs, "No talent! Trash!" The elder said.
Arol's face twisted and he bowed down his head in shame. He walked down the platform with his head down and as he walked the crowd showed no reaction. They just waited for the second child to go up, they didn't even glance at Arol as he walked down. He was already labelled as trash in their hearts - he was no longer worthy of their attention.
...
The children started going up the platform one by one and they were either accepted or rejected. Anyone that at least had E-rank talent would be admitted, so it was really not that hard to pass; only one child out of ten would fail and those that failed would be labelled trash for the remainder of their lives.
Ten breaths of time passed after Arol's examination and the elder called out, "Go!"
The child quickly ascended up the platform. The elder extended the testing stone, "Place your hand on it."
Go extended his hand and placed on the stone. "E-rank talent, you pass!"
"Thank you, elder!" He bowed his head.
The crowd like to all the others that passed the examinations clapped their hands and whistled. Go as he went down this stage - felt really good about himself.
After the child went down the elder called, "Ro!"
Ro walked up to the platform, on the way there he passed by Go and Go whispered to him, "I am sure you can do it, Ro" Ro nodded and a smile appeared on his face, "Yes, big brother." Ro referred to Go as his big brother because Go was the leader of their group of three.
Ro walked up the stage, "Place your hand on the stone."
The child nodded and obeyed. A moment passed, "E-rank talent! You pass!" The crowd showed the same reaction as they did to Go - they clapped their hands and whistled. Ro smiled and walked down the stage.
"No, come up!"
He quickly walked up and placed his hand on the stone, "E-rank talent! Pass!"
The crowd cheered once again and No descended down the stage. He met up with his two friends and they started to chat with each other.
...
Ten breaths of time passed.
"Drog!" The elder loudly announced. When the name sounded – Drog's threes bullies looked at each other; confused expressions plastered on their faces. They didn't expect to hear the name – Drog.
Drog under their confused expressions walked up the platform.
"Place your hand on the stone and let your talent be decided." Drog nodded and under Go, Ro, No, Big Sister's Ri and everyone else's eyes placed his hand onto the talent testing stone.

Old description (Without spoiler) John Sarvod, user of the most powerful healing spell [Heal], the rare ability to heal and recover all injuries, is the only human that lives in the Elven Tribe. Though he was gifted with [Heal], he could not cast any magic other than his one and only [Heal]. Aside from his current training to become a royal scribe, he is known to all elves as the ‘Healer of A’vetheas’ and had gained a certain amount of respect from them due to how much he works. But life for him in the Elven Tribe, A’vetheas wasn't never always like this. Because he was human, and that the Elves have isolated themselves from the outside world, his presence initially was not welcomed by the elves that thinks highly of him today. It was all thanks to the Elven Queen who brought him in, and the Elven Princess, Raina Valindra Eridi, that he could reach this day. But things changed when the Raina that he so adored used the teleportation device for a small date with him, where they met with danger that the [Heal] that he relied all this time could not save him from… In his desperate attempts to save Raina, John ended up committing a taboo of the elves. As for his punishment when he returned to A’vetheas? That was just the beginning of him, continuing the path that he had inevitably taken prior to the life he had before he lived in A’vetheas. This is a story of a not too average person end up becoming something that he could have never imagined. A monster? A demon? A god? Only time will tell. It is just a matter of time that John Sarvod would embrace his true self. Content Warning because I want to have flexibility, and maybe it gets overwhelming at times. I have a backlog already, this story won't be dropped. Edited: romance tag to action tag, story has more or less of both, but yeah. There's slice of life tagged in because my story progresses not too quickly (by my opinion) I like to take things slow, I suppose. :3
