Chapter 25 · More people

It took a while for me come back my senses and close my mouth. Lucky it seemed that Bane friend hadn't seen me as I was standing in the back corner of the living room.

They were deftly odd people. A girl in dark nuns robe came first and hugged Bane coming to the same height. She had plain features with brown hairs and eyes the kind of person who you could walk past a hundred times and not think about. A large chain hangs from her neck with an odd golden symbol of a wing and sword crossings.

Next was a man in a grey hoodie and black jogging bottoms. Coal black hair with a deep blue highlight didn't seject that he was a guy to hide from attention. His dark eyes stood out with white iress that zipped over the room looking over every corner including the one I stood in. He didn't comment. He stood in the doorframe before slowly steeping in. I felt like a small gust blew in from the doorway.

Odd I didn't feel a gust before in the hallway.

Last was a half bird half human person. I say that because he... she... it was covered in rich red and gold feathers and a small shiny amber beak were the noes and mouth sat. They wore a simple t-shirt and jeans. They wore no shoes and instead a pair of talon scrapped on the floor. They had hand and also a set of wings on its back.

"Good to see you got a nice place this time," the bird person said. Their voice sounded like a whistle and with a few odd clicks after every few words.

"What's that met ta mean. My last place was fine you just didn't like it because it was underground," Bane replied with crossed arms

"Dear, it was infested with mould. I must say this is a much better nice view too," the nun lady commented now standing inside the flat.

The guy just walked to the window almost next to me and nodded his head. His eyes didn't move to me and stood still like a statute. Just looking out.

"I guess it's a little better. Still, the last place was cheaper but now I have Zoe to help with paying," Zoe said walking to the kitchen and grabbing some drink "oh yer. Jade stop creeping around."

I slowly shuffle out of the corner saying meekly "umm hi."

"Jades the new roomie. Zoe friend. Jade this is Susan, Steel and Tiki," Bane explained pointing first to the nun, then the guy and then to the bird last.

It was the bird person who walked up first. "Nice to meet you as Bane said I'm Tiki," she clicked grabbing my hands from my side and shaking it in both of hers make me flinch. I tried to pull it back out of shock.

I mean who just grabs someone. She has a weird grip those and I couldn't pull out of it. Not only that but it the feathers on her hands felt super weird and not what I used to.

"Tiki dear you're scaring the poor girl," Susan warmly warned. She quickly almost pulled Tiki off me and reached out her hand "lovely to meet you. So nice to meet a new person these days."
