“Welcome to the red legion you fucks. From this day forth you are fighters, warriors and soliders. Nother you get is free anymore. The right to sleep. The right to eat. The right to bleed. The right to cry. The right to hope .The right to die is now like everything else something you fight for.
The right to fight is something you freaks need to fight for now! This is war gentleman. War! Not something you want! Its war! And war is war! What is war! It's a fight unlike any other!
Welcome to the iron fields.”
If you fight hard enough you win. It's not something I believe. Its something I have to believe.
This was my introduction to war. All I had to go on as I was launched into conflicts I didn’t understand or comprehend the need for. All I knew was that you needed to fight.
The man who spoke was my captain.
If you asked me what was the hardest part of the war was… when your toes get wet. I knowledge it's not what you would expect but war is not like anything someone can understand. My squad,my brothers, fellow soldiers like me watched as my captain took his own life because he feet decayed due to him not properly wiping the blood of his toes and it going old before getting a broken toenail infected.
Commande didn’t care about a toe infection and sent nothing to help so we slowly watched as first he lost his ability to walk, then sleep because the pain was too much. Not that we slept much anyway due to the constant holy bombardment.
We moved out dug a hole and sat in the hole killing anyone and anything that got too close. I can’t tell you how many time I mistook a wounded friend for an enemy and put an arrow through his head. Captain was the one who confronted me the first night. 91 went in and by next more their was 13.

It didn’t take long for us to realize that running in for a glorious battle wasn’t how things went.
My captain was someone I respected more than anything. But it still pained me to no end when I watched him die by his own blade. By then our company surgeon Victor the drunk had cut the sickness from captains body. But it just meant we delayed the time until his new stump git sick and there wasn’t much anyone could do.
See we were criminals. We had all done something so that made us expendable meat walls. And what I did was worse than stealing bread that 70% of the rest was convicted for so I was elected leader when he died. And god I cannot describe the hell that power gave me.
But if there was anything else. It would be the smell. Some guy cut his nose off and blocked the hole to stop the smell of the millions of corpses that we often used to sure up our defence.
That guy died drowning in a few millimeter deep pool of blood after getting knockout there was nothing I could do. Another guy was shot with a fancy arrow and slowly all the blood in his veins became clear. I don’t really know how he died but I can guess from the consent screaming it was painful. But once more, I could do nothing.
a few guys that came as reforments had some sickness with then but that killed those guys off in about two days before any of us could get it. Once more I could do nothing.
Another time it rained melted iron drops. The rain was heavy enough that most people would be caked in it before they hit the grounds. I learnt that day why they called this place the iron grounds. A month later any evidence of that happening was hidden by a few piles of corpses on both sides and a steady stream of blood that ran down from the mountains.

It did that a few times actually. It was a spell invented by a group who call themselves the hand of the snake and run around wearing black robes and praying. I through that the red queen hated god and that's why we were at war in the first place. Well they always said speak and she will hear in the red church's so I guess that it's only some gods that she hates. It makes sense their are some guys I hate as well so it makes sense that she would hate some to.
But those ‘serpent hand’ are monsters as is their rain. It sick. Once I saw one of the armoured enemy guys get hit and he screamed and struggled as his own armour run into the item of his death. Apparently even a few drops can be lethal because it's hot enough to melt the entire suit of armour much less the flesh inside.
I heard a rumour that the rain used to fall faster that it simply went straight through the armour killing them instantly in most cases but that wasn’t enough so they started to build it in such a way where it's still manly lethal but takes ages to actually kill and even if you get some lucky survivors they will be cripples for life.
I kill three people over the course of 9 months.
79 people by the end of the tenth
621 by the end of the twelfth.
Anything beyond that point is a blur I can only recall in my worst nightmares.
If you asked me why these people died?
Isn’t it obvious… they didn’t fight hard enough that's why.
I did that why I, Lock survived. Why did captain die because he gave up and killed himself.
Why did the noise guy die. He stopped fighting the smell and gave up. Why did the arrow guy die? He didn’t fight to doge hard enough that's why he died.
Why did the enemy die? Because I fought harder than them.
THEY DIDN’T DIE BECAUSE I WAS WEAK! Ok… it's not my fault. It can’t be. I can’t carry their screams with me anymore. I simply can’t. Its too much to ask of a man.
It can’t be my fault. It's not because I am weak.
It's not my fault again. It can’t be.
Please?
….
You need to fight for everything you want.
That's the difference between happiness and sorrow . You have to fight for happiness.

Beneath No Sky: Chronicles of the Atmospheric Sector
After bringing themselves back from the brink of annihilation, humanity's future seemed bleak. However, it's remnants, throwing aside the old order and donning a new mantle of progress aimed to rise above their ancient disputes and go forward as one. Once the Earth reached it's natural limit, and colonies around Terra and Luna had shown promising results, humanity finally decided to make the move to the stars. Believing this to be the start of a new age, they eagerly poured across the solar system and further beyond, greeting what space had to offer with hope and optimism. It was misplaced, however, for humanity's traditional quarrels soon resurfaced and engulfed a now interplanetary empire of many races. As the Earth Empire burned and an intense depression overtook the once optimistic people, some held out hope. They theorized that their problems were born of an inherent sense of home and, in order to rid humanity, now comprising of the Terrans as well as all the other known species of the galaxy, of this burden, decided to move far away from civilized space, into uncharted depths, to start anew. Some 200 years have passed since then, and those hopeful ones have finally found a place to settle on. Firmly planting their flag in paradise, they called this untouched land "Eden" and declared the beginning of a true new age, the age of After Eden.Trouble, however, seemed to still be hounding them, as barely three years after its founding, Eden finds itself at war with a seemingly uncommunicative and uncompromising enemy that far outclasses the odd pirates they were used to facing. A new era of peace, marked by an immediate conflict. Time will tell if Eden, the Grand Experiment, truly is as great as it's supposed to be. ---------------------------------------- This is a sci-fi, character driven, military space drama. Sustaining the King's Life
On a secluded mountain situated upon a kingdom known as Feuersturm, resides a seemingly trifling cabin with an unlikely duo as its inhabitant—a witch, and her apprentice who presumably comes from a clan sought after by slave traders. Faustina is a sixteen-year-old girl who fled the slave market with the help of a sickly witch named Eula, who later on trained her as an apprentice for the span of seven years. Plagued with a mysterious disease for several years, Eula died despite the efforts Faustina had exerted to cure her; in her last breath, she left an odd request behind. "Sustain the king's life. This is your duty. Do not adhere to the prophecy." To which the odd plea shadowed a bizarre series of events, a consequential sentence, similar to that of a premonition. The same night the phrase was muttered, the chain of events followed: A warlock's intrusion to their home, with a peculiar yearning to resurrect Eula from the dead... and the king himself, asking for Faustina’s aid. ** 1-2 chapters a day (GMT+8) ** (The artwork belongs to me.
