Chapter 8: Preparation
“Yo Lucas! How’s Elex? Enjoying yourself?” God grinned.
“Not much, why didn’t you tell me about the Divine realm?” asked Lucas.
“Because it is not yet time, you have something to do there in Elex.” God replied.
“I bet its something tiring and dangerous.” Lucas said.
“Exactly… But why are you here today?” God asked while he sat in a white chair.
“I just want to ask if you can give me some soul gems to rank up faster.” Lucas said while grinning.
“No I can’t do that. It will ruin the fun but I will tell you this, ask the headmistress of yours and ask her about the upcoming tournament.”
“What is the connection of the tournament and the soul gems I am asking?” Lucas said.
“Hahaha! Ask her not me. Also did you meet your other spirit?” God smiled.
“Yes I met her.” Lucas said.
“She is beautiful right?” God grinned.
“Yeah.. hey wait why are you smiling like an idiot?” (Lucas)
“Now now Lucas.. I know you are charmed by her, why not make her your wife?” (God)
“Hmm.. If it is possible I can make her my wif- no I cant do that she is a spirit.” (Lucas)
“Hahaha. It doesn’t matter” God laughed then he cut off the connection.
…………………………………………………………………
Lucas woke up then he was greeted by a sweet voice in his mind.
“Good morning Master!” Riviera said.
“Good morning too” Lucas replied.
‘Why is this girl’s mood changed faster than I expected’ Lucas thought.
“Master, why do I feel like you are badmouthing me.” Riviera stated.
“Nah, why should I talk bad things about a beautiful girl.” Lucas smiled
“Wha-?! Even you are my master I will kill you if you call me again beautiful!” Riviera angrily said.
“Ok ok, I will stop teasing you, little girl.” Lucas chuckled.
“You-!” Before Riviera finished Lucas cut off the connection.
“I should change first before I ask the Headmistress about the tournament and the Divine Realm.” Lucas said then went to change clothes and do everything else that needed to be done in the morning.

………………………………………
After Lucas was done, he wore a black long sleeves with gold linings and black pants. Satisfied with his outfit he set off to the Headmistress office.
After walking awhile, he remembered that he cut off his connection to Riviera, so he hurriedly connected himself again.
“Hey you! Why did you cut off the connection?!” Riviera yelled in his mind.
“Hahaha! I just felt like doing it.” Lucas laughed while he continued to walk.
“Don’t do that again or else… Nevermind what I said.” Riviera sighed.
After walking a few more minutes he arrived at the door of the office.
He knocked twice, “Headmistress Celia.” Lucas called out.
“Who is it?” A somewhat lazy but beautiful voice sounded.
“It is me Lucas Helios.” Lucas replied.
“Oh, come in” Celia said.
Lucas opened the door and saw Celia lazily laid on a sofa.
“Umm… Headmistress?” Lucas asked.
“Stop calling me headmistress. Just call me Celia when we are alone.” Celia said.
“Ummm…then Celia?” Lucas said embarrassed.
“Yes? Oh but first sit beside me and then we’ll talk.” Celia looked at Lucas.
“Ok.” Lucas sat beside Celia.
“So what made you come here at my office today Lucas?” (Celia)
“Its just that… do you have a tournament that will occur here in Aegis Academy?” (Lucas)
“Ohh… that one. Its called Soul Fight, 3 months from now it will be held here at the main branch.” (Celia)
“Ohh it is almost time already. So what is about it?” (Lucas)
“We have to pick 5 candidates from here. To pick we will have to do an elimination round then the top 5 will automatically be the candidates.” (Celia)
“Damn!” (Lucas)
“Also, in Soul fight we will battle other branches. These other branches didn’t put Aegis Academy as their name, they change it telling that they want to be an independent academy. But there are also loyal branches that uses the Aegis Academy’s name but we have to fight all Academies all over Elex.” (Celia)
“So how to join at the Elimination?” (Lucas)
“It’s easy, just go at the Registry office to register your name, but you should be at least at the Master Rank to join.” Celia said smiling.

“Then that will mean that I may be higher in rank than those instructors and you?” Lucas asked.
“No way. The instructors and me are higher than you think. I am already at the 9 th level of the Master Rank and those instructors are at 5 th level of Master Rank. They just hid their rank. You cant easily know a person’s spirit power if yours are lower than them but if you have a higher spirit power than them you can tell their spirit power even if they hid it” Celia said proudly.
“Awesome! So how to rank up faster?” Lucas inquired.
“Get missions at the missions office and those missions will give soul gems as a reward if completed.”
“Ohhh…. By the way, what are the rewards at the Soul Fight?” Lucas asked excitedly.
“This is why many want to participate at the Soul fight because the rewards are not just gold but also green soul gems.” Celia said.
“Wow! So where do you get these soul gems?” Lucas ask non-stop.
“We get soul gems from Divine beasts but there are no more Divine Beast here so we collected it and store it. And also in Soul fight every academy will bet 2 green soul gems each, so the participant who will win in Soul Fight can get half of the soul gems and the other half goes to their academy.” Celia said.
‘To think that I can get green soul gems. I must be lucky. I should start taking missions now… but something doesn’t fell right. It is impossible to just give away soul gems as reward. They said there are no more divine beast so how can they not run out of soul gems, they must be hiding something!’ Lucas thought.
“Um Celia, where do you get soul gems again?” Lucas ask.
“From divine beast but there are no more divine beast.” Celia said.
“Then where do you get the rewards for the missions?” Lucas ask again.
“From our treasury.” Celia said.
“Then it is impossible to just take out a soul gem in the treasury then reward it after completing the mission. Aegis Academy existed for many years it is impossible to have many soul gems despite the passage of time. You must have some other methods to get soul gems right?” Lucas said.
“Hahaha, you have a good mind there. So let me tell you this, even there is no divine beast here, we can get soul gems from Demonic beings too. This is why the amount of soul gems in our treasury isn’t dwindling.” Celia stated.
“So it means I can get soul gems from demonic beings?” Lucas asked.
“Of course but there is a difference from soul gems of Divine beast and demonic beings. A Divine beast soul gems is calm so absorbing it is easy but soul gems of demonic beings are wild so if you succeed then you are lucky but if you fail then you die.” Celia said solemnly.
“You said you use the soul gems of demonic beings as replacement of Divine beast soul gems. How can the students not suffer from absorbing it?” Lucas asked.
“We have special methods of refining it to make the soul gems of Demonic beings usable by students.” Celia said.
“So that is why.” Lucas said while imagining how to refine Demonic soul gems.
“You can also collect Demonic Soul gems then give it to me and I will have my men refine it for you but I will get one-third of it. Do you agree?” Celia ask Lucas.
Lucas thought this proposal give benefit to the both party so he immediately agree to it.
“Ok I agree.” Lucas said then went to leave.
“Then I will be waiting for the soul gems and also… rank up faster and prepare to make the other academy kneel before us and let them know who is superior. I will await for your future achievement.” Celia said to Lucas who is already at the door.
Lucas only nodded in response.
“This boy has boundless future, maybe I should take him as my husband.” Celia muttered to herself.
