《Stardust》Chapter 3.24 - Mei - A Flash in The Past

It was only a matter of time until we’re going to get discovered by Escher. For now, the only viable thing we could do was to sneak around the school compound. The problem was, it’s not easy when the whole place was under surveillance. There were two Cyclops approaching to our hiding spot. The Cyclops didn’t check our hiding spot thankfully. They were just roaming around their patrol area. The other thing that concerns me was the surveillance camera that the school installed. There was a chance that the camera was used by Escher.
“What should we do about the camera?” asked White.
I answered, “Maybe I can take them down?”
“That won’t be good. They will notice that one of their cameras not working.”
“That will make things harder for us, huh? We have to keep the security level low. For now.”
“For now?”
I nodded, “Yes. Once we regrouped with our friends we can launch an attack against Escher.”
“But isn’t he our principal?”
“Was.” I said so to him.
White shakes his head and said, “He’s still a principal. Do you know how strong he is?”
“I don’t really know. But we did it last time.”
“You guys did what?” asked White.
“We fought the demons. You forgot about that?”
“Of course, I know that. But what did you guys even do?”
I really wanted to tell the whole thing to him but I just cannot. I don’t know why. Is it fear? Is it because I’m too afraid that he might not believe me at all? Or is it because I don’t want to cause something that I don’t know could happen if I tell him? Maybe all of it…
White then said, “I don’t know if you’ll believe me or not. But I was the one who actually ended the war. Not the Magnificent Three.”
“I actually know that. I found a record book from my library about that event.”
That was also the reason why I was able to remember all the things I did together with White. But that was all in the past. I’m a changed person. I have a duty I must uphold to. After all, what’s done cannot be undone. Not after what I did earlier this year.

It was the morning of the first day of school. I was just reading a book about a forgotten secret legendary guild. It sounded like I was exaggerating things but that was what I thought about this guild. It was a guild called Stardust. Their leader, who was only known as Cyclone among his guild crew did the impossible. They completely annihilated a dark guild. To be more specific, it was the number one dark guild known to mankind during that time. Additionally, they also took down a corrupt organization that consist of dozens of dark guilds under them.
I don’t know how they did it but they actually did it. A single guild took down dozens of dark guild. To make thing sounds more insane was that they took them down in a matter of a few weeks! Taking down group was one thing. But the whole organization in just a few weeks? How strong was that guild?
I continued to read about them until it was almost time for me to go to school. I looked at my watch and noticed that I was 30 minutes late. I was worried about that but then I decided that I couldn’t care less about it.
“Eh, I can just use an ancient spell to do something about this. No one will notice an ancient spell.”
Exactly, only a strong wizard was able to see an ancient spell. Most of the students and teachers at my school were still not at the level of being able to see those. I could do that however. It was all thanks to my ability, Forbidden Knowledge. I was able to learn and use some of the ancient spells and magic that exist in this library of mine. My ability was basically a library of my own deep inside my cognitive mind. What happened when White and the other entered the realm was actually not how they think happened. I actually transported them to my cognitive mind and not the Dimensional Bag realm. Even so, the Dimensional Bag realm looked exactly the same as my cognitive. No one will notice. I only kept it a secret just for my own safety.
Anyway, as I was making my way to the school I noticed a person was fighting in the construction site. They looked intense. One of them could run so fast that they could even make the time feel as if being slowed down to him. The other one was able to use a very tremendous and powerful fire elemental magic. It was interesting to look at them but I’m running out of time. I’m late for school.

And so, things moved on as usual at school with no one noticing me being late at all. I used an invisibility spell to make my way into the school area and made my way to the school square for the school assembly. Anyway, nothing happened until school was over. But it was then it happened.
I was on my way back home until suddenly I heard someone was breathing heavily from a few metres away from me. Somehow, I was too curious that I decided to find out who was it. I guess I was brave enough to handle anything. Especially when you are ranked as the number one student in the entire school.
So I kept looking until I saw a guy who was lying on the ground. Some of his clothes looked like it was burned. It was then I realised that it was the same guy who had that super speed ability. I tried to cure him with a healing spell that I learned.
“I appreciate your help, girl. But get away from here now. It’s too dangerous.”
“What are you talking about? You’re hurt.”
“That’s not the problem here. You must get away from here. I don’t want to involve another person in this thing. Not after I sacrificed something important for my bloodline. At least I finally did the right thing.”
“What are you talking about?”
“Look girl. I’ve done so many things in my life and I just redeem myself today. I’m not going to let another innocent die under my responsibilities again. Now go away!”
I ignored him and continued to heal him. Then suddenly, I felt another strong presence. It was targeting both of us. As it was about to reach us, I shielded the attack by creating a defensive field that covers both me and the guy that was hurt.
“You looked strong, girl. Who are you?”
“I’m the number one student of Soul Power High School, Mei Xue.”
Another voice begin to make his presence, “Another one of this, Flash?!”
“Darn it, he’s here.” said the guy who I assume to be Flash.
“He’s a bad guy, right? I’ll handle this.”
“No, girl. He’s far too dangerous. He is from a dark guild.”
“Dark guild? I’m not surprised by that considering I could feel his Infinitum from across the field.”
“You can tell where he is right now?”
“Yes. Observe.”
I casted a spell and threw it somewhere at a rock. The rock then begins to disappear and reveals the assumed bad guy.
“Gosh you are strong. I’ll give up for today. I’m not gonna waste my energy again. Not after that kid just ate the crystal.” The bad guy used his fire ability to fly away from the scene.
I tried to catch him but he was too fast for me and he got away just like that. Now that thing has escalated, I turned back to Flash were he then begin to speak something crucial to me.
“You’re from the school right? Then I want you to trust me on something. One day, this dark guild will make a return and they are not just going to hunt me. They even going to hunt you. But that’s not the problem here. You can fight, I can tell that. But there’s this boy at that school who will be hunted. Right now, he is not capable to fight them. I want you to make sure he is safe…and remember this keyword, Stardust. It will be important later on. Do not use that word lightly on anyone. Only say it to the one you trust the most. That keyword will be the key to us all.”
“Why are you telling me this?”
“I have no time to explain, I gotta go. See ya later, girl.” Flash then flashes away in a blink of an eye.
It was on that day where I was given a very important duty and that was to protect Cyclone White from the dark guild. There is a chance that Escher is a member of this dark guild. I’m not taking any chances, I must defeat Escher before he kill White.

Grey Worlds
A mysterious incident occurred on a otherwise normal science centered world where all of the children from the age range of eight to sixteen suddenly vanished. “Where have their kids gone and will they ever return?” The now childless parents never got to really ask that question, because a strange new element replaced their lost children. This element slowly mutated the various animals that they once ruled over with their technology to the point that they were immune to their modern weaponry. The barren land of savages on a continent far away from theirs also had their children taken, but they easily mutated just like the beasts and only grew stronger thanks to the incident. A revolution of animals eventually took place after the mutations started to cause the animals to understand just how badly the humans ruined their lives and planet. Humans were the slowest to figure out how to use this strange new element to evolve, while their opponents were evolving and growing stronger by the day they couldn’t even surpass their modern technology. When humanity was on the brink of extinction a long forgotten event finally ended and their children finally started to return from the various worlds they were summoned to! It turns out that the mysterious new element that they didn’t know what to call was mana and that it’s everywhere in some fantasy planets. The children brought back a increase in technology and techniques to grow stronger with, which caused the humans to finally be able to build safe havens for their race. They grew stronger and started to finally adapt to their brand new environment. This is the story of a orphan who was taken away from his world, before he could gain a sense of attachment to the world. Who only has his older sister to care about and how he ends up adapting to the new world in front of him.------------------Dog notes by doggo First 'five' chapters aren't what the story is really about and is more of a prologue. The reason why some are separated into parts is because Doggo originally posted them as a entire chapter. The main setting is Ghost's actual world and not any foreign world. So this story was already posted once to another site or this site three years ago… and Dog is finally ending that three year hiatus! The explanation on why Dog was on a three year hiatus would of been written in the review section, but rrl doesn't allow self reviews. I'd have to create a alt just to self review which they obviously don't want even tho I'd not give myself any stars so its going to be here instead. The update schedule is a chapter a week till Dog get a editor and then two chapters a week till Dog gets enough money to pay for Dog’s bills. The final goal is to release a chapter every other day. Dog writes 4k word chapters so they are about twice as long as some of the other authors so every other day is actually more like once a day. ------------------- The part that was supposed to be the 'review' which Dog wont bother editing out repeat infomation since it wasn't supposed to go here in the first place. The first thing Dog will go over is what changed for the first 5 chapters, so that anyone who still remembers Dog's little novel and wants to continue from where Dog originally left off can decide whether or not to reread it. Also Dog is moving over to qidan simply because dog like the app they have. Dog won't go premium even if Qidan tells dog to and will simply move back to royalroad or create a blog. The things that changed over the years are mainly two important things. The first is that Dog changed the first person point of view to a third person, because Dog read a really bad first person novel and it reminded dog of dogs own novel. Dog also changed the thoughts of the character to be - - instead of italics. Finally dog changed chapter 3 completely to make the mc not seem like a homicidal maniac and introduced a important character in chapter 3.What happened to do in the three years that dog was away? Was dog at college and now needs money to eat? Was dog off in space after successfully becoming a astronaut and has now returned home with a completed novel or two? The answer is actually quite plain dog graduated from highschool and was supposed to only spend a year at dogs owners house to choose what major dog wanted to go to college for.Dog didn't do that and is still stuck with dogs owners and is sick of being a neet. Dog wants to move and buy doggy food, but dog is antisocial and doesn't want to work a simple 9 to 5 job for the rest of dogs life. Dog is a reader before dog is a author and the reason why dog got into writing was because dog wanted to write a novel without all the things dog finds annoying. Dog spent the first year reading various novels and dropping various novels. Dog is all caught up and has to much free time on dogs paws. The first year that Dog took off was the very same year that qidan came out so dog was naturally overloaded with free chapters. But now that pemium exists dog naturally has to limit the amount dog can read. Dog is addicted to reading like my very own readers and can understand your frustrations for dog disappearing for 3 years.Dog decided that dog will go back to writing 2 years ago. Dog wanted a decent stockpile incase dog has any other emergency so dog didn't post for a year but then dog decided to change the point of view which took another year.Dog has a patreon page https://www.patreon.com/mclaindog but there isn't any tiers there or goals till dog gets a editor. My final goal is to release a chapter every other day, but as long as Dog gets a editor Dog will do two free chapters a week.Dog will probably also make a kofi for anyone who just wants to send dog a tip and can't afford to donate money monthly while maybe having bonus chapters if the tip jar gets filled.

Infested
One billion people from one hundred thousand universes have been dropped onto a singular planet five times larger than Earth. In the corner of their eye were three numbers: 1,000,000,000. 15. 10. Nobody could figure out what it meant until fifteen years after the initial transportation, as out of the blue, a message repeated itself in their minds for twenty-four hours. “Only ten can return. The rest will die. There is no time limit,” Following the global message, genocides ran rampant, with established friendships broken, families ripped apart, blood alliances betrayed, and leaders felled in seconds. How? [The Evgnomon] The Beholden; hidden throughout the realm were artefacts: weapons, information, tools from beings and societies of a higher plane. It was up to the humans to scour the land and take them by hook or by crook if they ever wished to go back. Whisked into this world as a mere babe, I suppose it was lucky I didn’t die in the chaos. But as I stare into the rotten, tattered pages of the accursed book laid upon the pedestal in front of me; and the unnerving gaze of our professor trained onto the back of my head silently pressuring me to become the avatar of grotesques unspeakable and undecipherable to the human mind. O, how I wish I did...
