《Blackwood Company (A novel of grimdark sword and sorcery)》TWENTY-NINE—Magecraft

The warm Dow Serin shot felt good over Falan’s shoulders. They would eat the horses only if they absolutely had to. He was sure they would eat the meat raw that night. When they came upon camp—what they were calling a camp—Falan’s eyes widened in surprise when he saw the crackling fire at the base of a tall pine sheltering Leisa and her mistress from the snow on the ground.
He had almost forgotten the lady mage.
Smiling to himself, he thought about filling his belly with hot meat. Gorkis managed a small handful of frozen berries. Brassen returned empty handed. Jasen seemed relieved they were not eating horse.
All we need is a tent, he thought.
After everyone had eaten their fill—Sorela and Leisa ate more the Falan had ever seen women manage—he gave the two of them his and Serin’s bedrolls. The mage accepted gracefully. Brassen grumbling something about not being smart enough to steel some supplied before escaping. He still wore his fur-trimmed cloak, though. The man had less to complain about than he or Serin did.
The men-at-arms who hadn’t died or were executed were there with them. They too ate, and even all of them together—eleven in total—could not finish the meal. Good. They would have more for later.
“We are nearly there,” Lady Casen said, crossing her legs on Falan’s unrolled bedding. “I must find out what happened to Lord Warfink’s son. As soon as I—“She eyed everyone staring at her.
So that was her quest?
Falan had wondered, but did not suspect Lord Warfink’s son had gone missing. It made sense now.
The lady mage continued. “I will attempt to find out what happened to him, and as soon as I do, we will make our way back to Castle Warfink in Nalandor, provided the boy is not within expedient reach. As much as I want to find him, we are unprepared now.”

“What about our gold?” Brassen growled.
The mage eyed the fur cloaked man with a look of distaste. Wether it was due to the fact she thought him a barbarian or his want to talk of coin, Falan didn’t know. “I have already given you partial payment,” she said. “You will receive the rest.”
“Those bloody Nelothans stole it!”
“That is not my concern, Master Brassen,” the mage replied coolly.
The mage’s journey was nearly finished. She would discover her query dead and then they would get the rest of their gold.
And then Valamor...
Falan entertained the thought of possibly purchasing a plot of land once more. It was a long decline from lordship. He would survive. At least he had not lost his partial payment like Brassen. The scoundrel should be grateful he was still alive.
Without adequate shelter, much less a warm bed, Falan never slept. Under normal circumstances they would have all died of exposure—even with that fire and sleeping with the horses. But Falan had figured out the trick. When he had opened his eyes he found the lady mage drawing colorful symbols into thin air. Whatever she did, it kept them from freezing to death.
Falan had never seen magic before. He had heard of it often enough, being a Lord, but he had never seen it for himself... until last night. He was quite impressed to see a mage use her craft and wondered at the sort of evil one could divise with such unnatural powers.
It was time to get up and get going. They didn’t have far to go to reach the border—where the boy had gone missing.

8 81The Magitons
Book 3 of the Universe Series This novel continues the adventure from the previous novel, Ocean of Dreams. Each novel is meant to stand alone. Widhbo ( pronounced "wee bow") is a MC who will be in each of the six novels in the main series. The starship Sora had been hurtling through space using its FTL propulsion system toward the Dezba star system for over a decade since leaving the planet Beldora of the Hellsaxe system. The Sora had crash landed on Beldora over a century earlier carrying a couple of aliens from another dimension. The ship came from the Borrugal Realm, a band world associated with what was known as the Tor Galaxy, what we call the Milky Way. Human life on Beldora was never the same. Under the influence of the alien known as Widhbo, Beldora was catapulted from the steam age to the space age. The majority of the scientific advances on Beldora were attributed to the leadership of a brilliant man, Jejliard Castonea, who was secretly manipulated by the alien, Widhbo. When rapid advances in technology inadvertently led to a nuclear war, Jejliard decided to evacuate his family, friends and co-workers on the Sora. The plan was to find a new habitable planet and rebuild civilization until they could safely return home. Much to his despair, Jejliard’s family and friends opted to stay on Beldora to ride out the war underground. Even the other alien, Gengor, stayed behind. Borrowing technology stored in the archives of the Sora, Widhbo managed to transfer the personalities of those staying on the planet into digital storage units known as magitons which could survive indefinitely in cold, sterile space. Living crew members who elected to stay on board the Sora were also uploaded to ensure immortality for everyone in case their life support systems failed en route. Widhbo sought to design a cyber paradise for everyone inside their virtual worlds, but things never go as planned where Widhbo is concerned.
8 199Game Of Thrones: Season 8 - The Right Way
Game of Thrones has been an international phenomenon... until this final season. The last few episodes went completely off the rails and everyone slams critics for saying it was bad and challenged people to write it better. I humbly want to accept that challenge and I'm giving it a shot. Some of you may like my take on things and some may not.I will (hopefully) publish each chapter as I write them, every week to two weeks, in between my daily stories and time permitting.
8 182Ancient Mana Dungeon Core.
Yes the tags are necessary, they will make sense eventually too. Art is not mine, found it on pintrest btw the title on the thing apparently has no name, or at least no title that you can search, at least, but i found this: ‘ArtStation - [UE4] Lost Temple Ruins Jonas Axelsson’ (if your curious I was searching ancient temple game art when i found it don’t bother clicking the link on the thing that says facebook, it does not work) (i will not lie this is kinda my first publication so go easy on me). A while ago I fell in love with the Dungeon Core stories and decided: ‘Heck, why not make my own spin on things!’ and so i started brainstorming what to do and i kinda just found the idea for the story during it. This is the story of a guy named Michael Alex (not a typo that is the name I will be using for him) he was an avid fiction writer and reader who was just sitting on his couch playing a puzzle game on his phone called: Ruins of Drailmor Keep (a three in one deal: tower defence, Puzzle (mazes generally), and world building (namely building on the ashes of fallen empires and regulating certain things while the waves of enemies keeps coming back to burn it down and ruin it just like the curse would while ocasionally sending out your own monsters to get rare rescources)) when he gets an alert and well one thing leads to another and he died to a freak avalanche. He then comes into contact with the universe's will (basically something that *insert your prefered deity here* cooperated with to make the world (heaven, hell, the mortal world, yggdrasil, basically every "world" that has been made (in reality, mythology, games, books, cartoons/movies, and memes!) but also had a mind of its own at the same talk.) and Michael and the Universe’s Will talked and this story is about the outcome of said discussion.
