《Escapia: A VRMMO》Chapter 15: Zenith

Everyone was gathered around the table now. All eyes were on Haruto. After clearing his throat, Haruto began to speak:
"Yes, folks. You know what we're gathered here for. We're going to form a Guild and we're in it together."
Ren clapped her hands excitedly while Rem nodded in agreement. Daemon and Lockheart smiled at each other. Nyaru, on the other hand, was dozing off and opening his eyes once in a while.
Haruto continued:
"I will cover the cost of creating the Guild. In return, I will own the Guild's leadership. And I will not give any rank to anyone until our Guild reaches its maximum number of members. Even if you are my friend, you have to work in favor of the Guild to win ranks."
Daemon was taken aback, this man called Haruto was able to impress people in a short time, everyone was listening to him now. “The leadership ability really must be there,” he thought. He raised his hand in slight envy, and Haruto smiled and looked at Daemon:
"Ask Takashi."
"Do you have a plan for how to gather players in our Guild?"
"Simple. While I continue to trade, my Guild menu will remain open. My one hand will be on the confirm button when players automatically apply to Guilds. So we won't miss any members from my Guild."
Lockheart also raised his hand:
"What will our guild be called?"
"I'm glad you asked, Shinju."
Daemon suddenly looked up, hearing Lockheart's name for the first time.
Shinju...
Haruto lowered his head and clasped his hands:
"Zenith. Our guild will be named Zenith."
Ren raised her hand and giggled:
"Couldn't our name be something else? I want something a little simpler and nicer... I have a few suggestions: Sakura or Dragons."
Rem nudged her sister to silence her. She rolled her eyes and whispered in Ren's ear:
"Haruto is already forming the Guild and ready to spend the 50,000 Kud for us, let him choose the name himself."
Then she looked at Haruto apologetically and sighed:
"Sorry, Haruto. It's the usual Ren, you can choose whatever you want."

Haruto rubbed his head with a smile.
"Heh, heh. It's okay, Rem. I got used to it eventually."
Lockheart laughed at her friends' talking. Meanwhile, Nyaru woke up from the sound of laughing and opened her eyes. She looked around and began to listen to people.
Daemon, on the other hand, looked down at the ground shyly, not feeling as afraid as before, but still didn't feel like he belonged in this environment.
Haruto frowned at Daemon, then continued:
"Okay, now I'm setting up the Guild! What would our logo look like?"
Then he stared at Daemon with a smile:
"Takashi what are you saying?"
"H-huh? You want me to choose?"
Lockheart smiled at him at Haruto's delicacy. Haruto shook his head to imply "I got this!" to Lockheart. Then he turned to Daemon, Daemon contemplating what to choose as he stared at the ceiling of the shop, a few seconds later he shouted:
"I found it! Since our Guild name is Zenith, why don't we make our logo a yellow sun on an orange background? It would fit."
"I don't think it's a bad choice at all. What do you guys say?"
Rem and Ren shrugged, Lockheart replied:
"Okay, why not?"
Nyaru smiled:
"That sounds cool, brother!"
Haruto nodded:
"Okay then."
[_Haru_ created a guild: Zenith]
[Daemon got invited to a guild: Zenith]
[Lockheart got invited to a guild: Zenith]
[Rennie_01 got invited to a guild: Zenith]
[Remi got invited to a guild: Zenith]
[Xxx_N./y./a./r./u_xxX got invited to a guild: Zenith]
[Daemon joined Zenith!]
[Remi joined Zenith!]
[Rennie_01 joined Zenith!]
[Lockheart joined Zenith!]
[ Xxx_N./y./a./r./u_xxX joined to Zenith!]
Haruto clapped his hands.
"Very good! Now teleport with me to the Main Floor!"
Haruto took out the teleport crystal:
[Main Floor: Fields]
Everyone else followed Haruto too. He was teleported to one of the wheat fields on the main floor. Daemon looked around and turned to Haruto:
"Why did we come here?"
"Everyone will show each other how they fight. So we will know everyone's class. Who will go first?"

Ren excitedly raised her hand, while Rem rolled her eyes and replied:
"Okay, we'll do it first. First, we're both soulmage. But we use different elemental attacks. Ren is a pyro kind of soulmage and I'm a nature soulmage. Let us just show it to you..."
Ren drew out her long wand. She raised her hand, slowly spun her wand 3 times, and extended her hand forward, light blue particles started to come out of the wand. A yellow light hit the ground from the tip of the wand, and a small glow of fire appeared on the ground. Flames erupted from the area for a few seconds, then extinguished as Ren lowered her long ward.
Then Rem took out his long wand, quickly slammed his wand on the ground, and just away from Rem, green particles appeared and slowly green vines began to appear. Green bubbles were coming out of the vines. Then all of a sudden the vines disappeared.
Daemon was explaining soulmages to Lockheart at this time:
"Look, Soulmages are a class based on elemental damage. In Soulscapes, the surroundings were constantly glowing with colored lights, this is what the visuals of Soulmages' attacks were doing. Don't be too impressed by this though, because Soulmages have really low health. Even their health in this game is the lowest HP class."
Lockheart giggled:
"I think you are just jealous because your attacks don't have good visuals like these."
"Shut up and move on! It's our turn!"
Daemon turned to Nyaru:
"Nyaru, transfer MP to your sister with all your might!"
"Sure, bro!"
Nyaru opened her hands and a blue light engulfed Lockheart. The light was shining more than in previous transfers.
When Lockheart's MP Bar was full out, Daemon called out:
"Lockheart! Apply Agility Buff to me 3 times!"
"OK!"
Daemon drew out the Mythril and Volchr swords. And Daemon rubbed their swords together, smiling:
"WATCH ME NOW!"
Daemon sprinted across the field so fast that it was almost invisible. He circled everyone, the others following him only with the dark blue particles of his Ice Boots and the glow of his Volchr Sword. Daemon suddenly jumped in front of them and stabbed his two swords into the ground, landing to regain his balance.
Rem and Ren applauded Daemon.
Haruto nodded:
"Not bad at all."
Encouraged by his performance, Daemon glanced at Haruto and pointed his sword at him:
"Haruto, now let's see your skills, shall we?"
Haruto laughed:
"Nope, I don't have any, I spent my time merchanting in this game."
Daemon continued in disbelief:
"Come on, do you have skills that are too impressive to show us or something, are you going to reveal that you're stronger than all of us in Episode 14 or something?"
"Nope, I'm just not into... fighting."
"Oh, oh..."
Daemon put his swords back in inventory:
"Well, that's... disappointing."
"Strength isn't everything, Takashi. In this game, instead of grinding, I'm dealing with saving Kud and buying myself a house. Because we live in this game now, you know."
"Yeah, right."
Haruto continued with a smile:
"Now everyone goes back to their own business, we'll meet again at this exact location tomorrow, okay? We'll continue to get to know each other."
Haruto took out the teleport crystal and waved:
"Come on then, see you later."
Haruto, Rem, and Ren are teleported back to Floor 4.
Daemon looked at Lockheart in surprise:
"Aren't you going with them?"
Lockheart sat on the ground and watched the wheat flutter in the wind:
"No, I'd rather stay with you."
"O-oh..."
There was silence for a few seconds. Then Daemon continued:
"Wait, that doesn't sound that realistic."
"At the same time, I can't entrust Nyaru to you."
"Yeah, right. There we go."
"Hey, I'm just joking."
Lockheart looked at the uncertain expression on Daemon's face and continued:
"But hey... It wasn't that bad, was it?"
Daemon nodded and smiled:
"Well, I guess you were... Right? And I was..."
Daemon couldn't finish the sentence out of ego:
"NOPE, I'M NOT SAYING IT!"
Lockheart shrugged and chuckled:
"I guess, we can call this progress too..."

The White Rabbit: Book 2
In the Urillian Empire, the Empress Xandra rules three-quarters of the planet Xren from her home in the capital of the Earth Continent. Both the fire and water peoples have fallen under her might after a series of wars stretching back three centuries. Earth elves, under Xandra's rule, have spread throughout the planet and established colonies, and are, by all accounts, enjoying what seems to be a prosperous and happy existence. But not everyone in Uril is happy. The holy books speak of elves as the Chosen People of Thesis, tasked with guiding and protecting the lower races. For some people, this scripture has been interpreted to designate their life as one on the lowest rungs of society. Humans have been reduced to a slave class, and serve their elven masters under Xandra's rule, kept at bay by the constant fear of the dreaded Emerald Knight, and their own perceived weakness. Humans do not lead long lives, nor do they possess the wisdom, power, or magical acumen of their elven masters. But there is hope. A group of people have banded together to fight against Xandra, her Knight, and her empire. They call themselves the "Knights of Order" united under the principle idea that Xandra's reign has brought chaos unto Xren, and they wish to restore order. These Knights are led by a man named Xaxac Brigaddon, spoken of as a legend. They say that when the moons are full, some humans transform into powerful beasts. They say that Xaxac is the most powerful warrior on Xren, that in his youth he was enslaved and forced to fight other humans to the death in a bloodsport called "cage fighting", that he could not be touched and held the world championship title for three years running until he faked his own death and escaped his master to join the resistance. They say that he has friends in high places- noblemen, pirates, and the devil himself. They say that if you can find him, he can ferry you to freedom in places where the Earth Elves fear to tread. They say that he is immune to magical attack, and his eyes shine like the silver moon. They say that he is descended from Quizlivian Brigaddon, one of the humans who helped the demon Magnus escape a god. They say that if you want to walk the Path of Order, you should follow the White Rabbit.Come and watch the transformation from human boy to Knight of Order: The life and times of Xaxac OfAgalon OfLangil Brigaddon. Content Warning: This work is based on the real experiences of human trafficing survivors. Xaxac's origins are based on true events, and they are presented realisitcally; this includes but is not limited to: isolation, gaslighting, emotional and sexual abuse, and grooming tactics. This work is meant to hold a mirror up to society; it is based on the real of experiences of people who have experienced slavery and/or abuse. It is an adult work and probably should not be read by anyone under the age of 18. If you are a survivor of human trafficing and/or abuse, your feedback is welcome, but please do not read this if you think it may trigger your trauma. I did not write this with the intention of harming anyone, but rather to provide accurate representation for a group that does not normally get it in the hopes of changing the zeitgeist. I would like to see a world where more people understand what these experiences are like, so that real survivors do not have to deal with microagressions from an ignorant public. Reader discretion is advised. This book does not display these elements as heavily as book 1.
