《Escapia: A VRMMO》Chapter 11: The City

Daemon, Lockheart, and Nyaru teleported to Floor 4.
Daemon was annoyed. Because after fighting in the dungeon yesterday, everyone fell asleep from exhaustion and they missed the Floor Boss event. At the same time, the effect of Siren's curse was still on Daemon, so Daemon's head was throbbing.
When they teleported to Floor 4, all three were near a bridge. There was a river under the bridge, and after a certain place the river flowed into a void, this place had a way smaller map than any other floor, since it was just for one particular place with an entrance. While being Impressed, Nyaru and Lockheart were looking down the bridge as Daemon motioned for them to be quick. When they crossed the bridge, a city appeared in front of them. There was a stone park road, brick houses, and small gardens next to the houses in this city. Lamps hung above the roofs of the houses. Houses were slightly more modern than Floor 1, and unlike Floor 1, there were players around instead of NPCs.
Lockheart looked at the Daemon curiously:
"Why did we come here?"
Daemon rubbed his head and stared at Lockheart's necklace, the Siren's Core. The necklace was glowing with a blue aura, which slightly discomforted him. Daemon answered, trying to focus on the question:
"I will sell the Mermaid's Staff, which we brought down from the dungeon yesterday, to a soulmage for 8000 Kud."
Nyaru asked:
"What does Kud mean, brother?"
“Kud is the main currency of Escapia, named after the Kuudere Dev. You can trade items and stuff with that."
Daemon continued walking down the stone path, with Lockheart and Nyaru following after him.
5 minutes later, Daemon stopped in front of a bar:
"Here we come!"
He opened the bar's door and motioned for the others to come. This bar had a medieval bar feel. There were wooden stool chairs on the floor, people talking to each other, and clinking glasses while pretending to have a real drink even though they couldn't get themselves drunk at the game.

Meanwhile, a short-haired girl with pink short hair and pink eyes and glasses sat next to Daemon.
The girl was wearing a big purple hat and a purple chemise:
"Oh, hey Daemon, here you are!"
"Hey Sakura, how's it going?"
Sakura continued with excitement:
"Good, good. We're preparing for the girls-only guild I told you about yesterday. We'll be the best guild when we reach level 50!"
Sakura opened her right hand and hit it with the other hand:
"We're going to show other players the definition of 'women empowerment and how women being united can be much stronger!"
Daemon continued the conversation, pretending to be sincere, trembling:
"Oh, yes! In a game where men and women have equal stats, doing something like this shows what kind of person you are, Sakura!"
"I do not understand?"
Daemon changed his tone to hide his emotions:
"I mean, congratulations!"
The waiter handed the NPC, Daemon, and Sakura a glass of fake drink:
"Cheers, Sakura!"
"Thanks, Daemon!"
Nyaru was walking around bored as Sakura and Daemon clinked their glasses, and Lockheart was chasing after her.
Daemon rolled his eyes at them, then continued:
"Anyway! I brought the staff you wanted, did you bring 8000 Kud?"
"Let me see."
Sakura clicked her menu, then clicked inventory:
"I'm sorry! I only brought 7000 Kud."
Daemon clenched his fist, pretending to cough to hide his anger:
"Oh, bad luck I guess! Anyway, give me 7000 Kud and I'll give you the Mermaid's Wand!"
"Ok!"
Sakura clicked on her menu, from there she sent a trade request to the Daemon. Daemon pressed the "tick" symbol and the transfer was done.
[Daemon obtained Kud x7,000]
Daemon found Lockheart and Nyaru at the bar and grit his teeth:

"Come on, we're leaving!"
Lockheart and Nyaru came out ahead, and before Daemon left the bar, Sakura smiled and waved:
"See you Daemon, let's talk some later!"
"Yeah, yeah sure."
As the door closed, Daemon said to the girl through his teeth:
"Go fuck yourself."
Daemon yawned and turned to Nyaru and Lockheart:
"I guess we are done here."
Nyaru frowned and turned to Daemon:
"But brother, we've just arrived, let's visit the city a little!"
Daemon yawned again and continued
"Come on, can't we just lie down under the trees on Floor 1?"
Lockheart rolled his eyes and took Nyaru's hand:
"Sorry Nyaru, your brother Daemon is a neet so he doesn't enjoy that kind of thing. Neets only like to sleep, manga and visual novels! Repeat. What were they?"
"Sleep, manga, and visual novels?"
Lockheart patted Nyaru's head and smiled slyly at Daemon:
"That's right, sweetie!"
"OK FINE! We can take a little tour of the city, okay, are we happy now?"
Nyaru jumped with joy:
"YAY!"
Daemon, Nyaru, and Lockheart toured the city holding each other's hands. Inside the city, there were blacksmiths, restaurants, bars, grocers, tailors, and everything else infused with medieval style. As he continued walking, dust was coming out of the stone paths. Nyaru noticed this and started to walk away kicking the ground, as Lockheart ran after him:
“Nyaru, walk straight, you will fall!”
"Fine!"
——————————————————————————————
It was late afternoon when they had returned to the bridge and left the city. Lockheart and Nyaru were laughing and having fun with each other, while Daemon was out of breath:
"Why does Escapia have the stamina of her real-life body?"
When Daemon wearily reached the end of the bridge, everyone pulled out their teleport crystals and shouted:
"[Main Floor: Forests]!"
Daemon found the nearest tree and rested his head on it. Meanwhile, he started to think about the guild system. Daemon was level 49 and when he reached level 50 the Guild and Career system would be unlocked. With the career system, players would be able to craft in-game items (food, ore, outfits, equipment) with materials themselves. Each player would go to choose a tendency to craft some of these items. That's why Daemon had to be on good terms with others.
But the most important was the Guild system. With the guild system, the Daemon would be able to join large in-game communities and do quests for that guild. There would be wars between the guilds, the players within the guild would support each other and there would be ranks. The Guild System was the Yakuza System of MMO!
And Daemon was both excited and nervous about it. He had to choose his guild well.
