《Escapia: A VRMMO》Chapter 4: Day-off

In the morning, the day had just dawned. The pure light of the sun reflected on the grass, creating a beautiful ambiance with the shadows. Birds were chirping on the branches of the great forest trees. Chickens could be heard in the fields. It was a fresh, beautiful day in Escapia today.
Daemon was also enjoying this good day by chatting civilly with NPCs. Daemon handed woods to the Child NPC.
NPC smiled:
"Thank you for woods, adventurer-"
Daemon was fed up with not being able to skip sentences from NPCs: "KID! Shut up."
"Oh, adventurer! I knew that you would help me as soon as I saw your face."
Daemon clenched his fist and began to tremble with annoyance.
NPC continued:
"My dad will be so happy when I return-"
Finally, Daemon lost his temper:
"LET ME SKIP IT! LET ME!"
Daemon furiously clicked the jump button but the button was bugging.
"Kuudere Dev! I'll feed you to the pigs, you bastard!"
"Dad will cut these woods and we will buy a brand new chair for our house. I'm sure you're wondering what kind of chair it will be, right adventurer?"
"Fuck your father, you little ni-"
[Daemon has been muted for 5 minutes! Reason: Too much profanity]
Daemon shouted until his voice stopped.
Daemon listened to the NPC's excitement about a stupid chair for five more minutes, then claimed the XP reward and leveled up to 25.
[Cooking system has been unlocked!]
Daemon muttered to himself:
"I can't do it anymore, enough is enough! Every time, without exception, I have to talk to these NPCs and collect nonsense items for them! I want to fight, I want to get stronger, I want to socialize. If my level is so high and I'm OP, why the hell am I doing a mission instead of establishing a harem with beautiful waifus?"

Daemon wiped took a deep breath:
"I have to have some fun today, or I'll go nuts."
——————————————————————————————
Daemon teleported near Lockheart, she was sunbathing under the tree:
"Hey, Lockheart! Wake up."
Lockheart opened his eyes regretfully. "Damn, he's going to ask me to grind again." she thought.
When she chose to team up with Daemon, she did it out of pity, but now she was trapped in this game. There was no other choice but to be with Daemon. But Daemon, besides being "neet"... was also very boring. All they did was kill some monsters and level up. The only change in Lockheart's routine so far has been to kill tiny cactus-hybrids in Desertium instead of killing wolfs on the Main Floor.
Lockheart stood up and yawned:
"What do you want?"
"I've unlocked the cooking system and I want to cook some stuff…"
Lockheart was glad to hear Daemon talk about something other than combat and quests.
She smiled:
"So finally you need my help, huh?"
"I didn't say anything like that-"
"Well, I have some good news for you then! I've been studying some in-game recipes. And I learned how to make a Chicken Sandwich!"
Daemon whispered to himself:
"And feminism marches on..."
"What was that?"
Daemon sighed:
"Nothing, nothing. Go on."
"So as I studied, we need a chicken, it's easy to find on the Main Floor. Then we need bread, you can craft this by collecting wheat from the farms."
"Ok is that it?"
"We need oil. Then a few spices: salt, black pepper, thyme, paprika. And finally some vegetables: lettuce, onions, and tomato. You can find those from an NPC in a random village."
"Ok then, I'll be right back."
Daemon took his Teleport Crystal:
-[Main Floor: Village]!
Daemon teleported into a random village. The calmness of the village gave him some relief, if only for a while. Daemon started walking slowly around. He first encountered a field of wheat.

[Daemon obtained Wheat x35!]
Then he entered the village. Whilst walking on the path in the village, he heard forging sounds from the blacksmith NPC shop, and the sounds of child NPCs running around. At this moment the wind began to blow, the gentle breath of the breeze blowing lightly on Daemon's face. As he continued walking down the path, a chicken appeared in his path:
[Daemon obtained Chicken x1!]
Just as he was about to leave, a boy NPC approached Daemon:
"Did you see my chicken, adventurer?"
Daemon patted the boy's head and smiled:
"I have no idea what you're talking about."
Daemon continued to walk peacefully. He felt relieved. This in-game ambiance had somehow taken over him. Everything was better when he didn't have to complete a neckbeard developer's stupid tasks and talk to a feminist.
Daemon arrived at the shop and bought all the other ingredients from the shop NPC and teleported near Lockheart.
Lockheart was laying down on the grass and talking to herself while waiting for Daemon to come back:
"He is doing all this just because I'm into cooking."
Lockheart sighed, then laid down:
"Maybe isn't so bad after all, even though, that doesn't change the fact that he is both an incel and a neet."
The peaceful smile on Daemon's face was gone in an instant. "I think I'm going back to my old self, goodbye peaceful me." He thought to herself.
Daemon appeared behind Lockheart:
"Did you just call me a neet?"
"Oh for God's sake, Daemon… Stop teleporting near me if you just gonna ear drop me like a creep!"
"I just teleported because I collected the things you said."
Lockheart replied:
"Ok, now we can start to cook."
Lockheart opened the menu and tried to find the "Cooking" button, but it was locked.
"Dammit! I don't have enough level."
Daemon rolled his eyes:
"Fine, I'll do it by myself."
Lockheart laughed:
"Daemon, I don't want to be rude but I'm pretty sure, a neet like has never cooked anything in his life."
"That's correct, but since this is an MMO, not a cooking game, I think I got this… Let's go to the village's oven and make this S Tier super delicious chicken sandwich-"
——————————————————————————————
[Daemon obtained E Tier Chicken Sandwich x1!]
"Daemon, I told you, it won't work when you put all things in the oven."
"But this is an MMO! Who would give a shit about cooking this much?"
Lockheart sighed and Daemon continued:
"But Lockheart, I learned an important lesson today."
Lockheart was surprised. "I guess he finally realized he's wrong and is going to apologize to me." she thought. She tried to hide her curiosity and asked:
"What did you learn, Daemon?"
"I learned that women do belong to the kitchen."
"Of course, you will never change, will you?"
Daemon replied with a sly smile, then sighed:
"I won't, Lockheart. I won't..."
Daemon folded his hands behind his head:
"But jokes aside, I felt pretty relieved today. And you know what? Even though the sandwich isn't S Tier. It's still in an edible tier. I think we should see this sandwich as a reward for our work and eat it."
Lockheart shrugged:
"Well, ok, I guess. What's the worst that could happen?"
