《A Celestial's Wrath》Chapter 6 - Loots

Swiftly, Yan Hao stepped aside. The Abyss Wolf shot by his ear and crashed into the tree with its bared fangs. Loud gnashing sounds of breaking wood came from it and it tore out a big chunk of the tree.

Without wasting this moment, Yan Hao jumped on its back. This was the only place where the Abyss Wolf wouldn't be able to use its fangs nor its claws. Yan Hao coiled his feet around its belly and clutched its neck with both of his arms, tightly squeezing it and trying to strangle the monster.

"Now sleep a little bit," uttered Yan Hao under gritted teeth.

The growling of the beast stopped and foam dripped out its maw. It clearly had difficulties to stay alive and was near its end. But how could an Abyss Wolf die this easily?

It began sprinting faster than a tempest through the forest. The surroundings became blurry and Yan Hao had to struggle to gasp for air.

Suddenly, the Abyss Wolf shot its head back and its horns bored into Yan Hao's shoulder and collarbone. Blood oozed out from the wound and stained his shirt in an ugly red.

"Don't scream!" shouted Yan Hao in his mind. If he would scream, then the possibility of attracting an entire pack of Abyss Wolves was very high. So, he had no other choice than to grit his teeth and endure the pain.

Right at that moment, the Abyss Wolf jumped up and turned around in the air, intending to land on its back.

"Not good." Yan Hao panicked and shortly thought about letting its neck go. But that thought didn't remain long. The beast was nearly dead and he just needed to squeeze its neck a little longer.

*Bam!*

Yan Hao felt the ground at his back and nearly instantly the beast fell with its entire weight onto him. Under its monstrous weight, it squeezed Yan Hao under it. Its entire body covered Yan Hao and took his ability to breathe away.

The impact of the Abyss Wolf pounding against his body let a gust of breath escape from his lungs as if the monster's body squeezed it out. The fur of it covered his entire face and he couldn't breathe anymore; he could only smell the stench of wet dog on its fur.

The Abyss Wolf wiggled its body and tried to break free from Yan Hao's grasp. It shot its ugly maw left and right and tried to snap at anything. Saliva drooled over its lips and foam bubbled out its maw. Slowly, the struggling became weaker and finally, it stopped completely.

As soon as it stopped, Yan Hao hurriedly rolled its body aside and gasped for air. Deep and heavy breaths left his chest heaving up and down.

"Urgh~, f*cking monster," Yan Hao cursed and pressed his hand against his wound. The wound was deeper than he thought and the blood continued to flow out. If it would continue like this, he would die for sure.

And only now did Yan Hao understand something. "The system told me that things from my world don't work here. But I'm sure that it meant that it wouldn't work on things of this Spirit Realm. A medi-pack would surely work on me, right?"

He pulled his bloodied hand away from the wound and reached to his ankle, pulling his pants a little up to reveal his ankles. A small, black leather pack was attached to it and three infusions stuck out of it, revealing their cap.

His hand, still sticky from the blood, pulled an infusion out and removed the cap with his thumb. A loud popping noise came from it and he drilled the infusion into his shoulder, near his wound.

A hydraulic noise of a substance being pumped into his body sounded out and the red hue of the infusion was fastly drained, leaving it completely empty.

"Argh~" Yan Hao gave a loud sigh, pulled the injector out, and fell on his back, staring up into the thickets of the trees.

Meanwhile, multiple lines came from the point of injection like some high-tech crossword puzzle. It spanned over his entire wound and the flesh began to restore itself in a swift manner which could be seen with naked eyes.

After 5 minutes, his wounds were healed and he sat back up. "Time to check my loot," said Yan Hao and stepped towards the Abyss Wolf lying on the ground.

He tipped onto the body of his bracelet and a metallic orb appeared next to his hand. Yan Hao grabbed it and pressed it against the body of the Abyss Wolf. When he pulled the orb back, a stack of six coins was pulled out from the body of the beast and stuck to the orb. It was as if the orb magnetically pulled the coins out from the Abyss Wolf's body.

As soon as the coins left its body, the Abyss Wolf turned into uncountable particles of light and disappeared into thin air. Nothing was left of it.

Yan Hao pulled the coins from the orb and sent the orb back into the bracelet. The six coins in his hand looked metallic and had a slight, white sheen of light.

The first coin had a symbol of meat on it and on its edge was written: "Abyss Wolf Meat"

The second coin was an Abyss Wolf Hide coin, and the next three coins were Spirit Iron coins with the symbol of an ingot on it.

Turning the coins around, on their back was written: Ordinary Coin.

"So this was only an Ordinary Beast," he concluded and turned his attention to the last coin, which was slightly bigger than the other coins.

It had a symbol of a dagger on it; and according to the words on the edge of it, the coin contained an Abyss Wolf Dagger of the ordinary grade.

A small chuckle made its way over Yan Hao's lips. "I'm really lucky. A weapon is exactly what I need now. I don't care if it's only of the ordinary grade. A weapon is a weapon."

He clicked on the First Spirit Realm orb on his bracelet and a holographic screen popped up. Yan Hao looked at the tabs and selected the Coin Inventory between the Book Inventory and the Ranking Site. With swift hand motions, he put all coins except the dagger one into the coin slot and watched them appear on the inventory page.

"Maybe I can make armor out of them or something. Better to store them than invest them immediately on the Home screen."

Pixel was slandering through the forest. He wiped the drop of blood from his cheek and rubbed it into his suit vest. Satisfied with it, he stuck his hands into his pant's pockets and shouted loudly, "Shuang! … Shuang!" ('Shuang' means 'to feel good')

"Where is she? And where am I?" thought Pixel.

Suddenly, he heard the piercing cry of a girl and turned his head to the source of it. Further away from him, he saw a beautiful girl sprinting away from something. Shortly after she disappeared from his sight, running towards the direction of Yan Hao, a colossal Abyss Wolf King ran like a bulldozer after her, tearing everything in its way apart.

It looked by far more terrifying than an Abyss Wolf and was definitely worlds apart in term of strength.

No matter if it was a thick tree or a bolder, it destroyed everything in its way and uprooted trees, leaving a path of destruction. Its heavy stomps left the ground trembling in fright and its bellows echoed throughout the entire part of the forest, scaring away all birds in the vicinity.

Pixel stared dumbfounded at it till it disappeared from his sight, and he muttered; "Doggie?" as he tilted his head to the side.
