《Blue Moon Emperor》A STRANGE WORLD

On being pulled in by those rainbow-ish lights, Xing Peng was taken to the otherside of that pale golden door. Xing Peng looked around and found himself in a small sealed room which was completely filled with those rainbow-ish lights that he had previously seen through that keyhole.
Only then did Xing Peng realize, wasn't he f*cking trapped now? Previously atleast he could roam around endlessly but now he just had to be a smart @ss and try to peep into the keyhole of a very suspicious door and get himself trapped. But Xing Peng couldn't really blamed, given that he spent years upon years roaming around aimlessly and he suddenly found a ray of light, anyone in his position would obviously follow that ray of light!
But the main question was who could be so ingenious and free enough to set a trap out here in a place which was void-like and aimlessly huge?
Xing Peng roamed along the walls of that small room but he couldn't find any sort of secret door or something which would activate and get him out.
After trying for a while and getting no results, Xing Peng just lay in the corner of the room silently and pondered about this room.
Previously due to his excitement in finding a pale golden door out here in this aimlessly huge bleak space, he had recklessly approached the door and peeked through the keyhole and ended up here. Perhaps if he was more careful enough, this wouldn't have happened to him.
So was this room really a trap as he had previously thought?
But how could this be? How could anyone have such a huge grudge against someone, that they would even go as far as trying to trap their soul for all eternity? If so, then that must be one hell of a grudge.
Feeling frustrated, Xing Peng had tried to bang onto the door from inside the room but the door obviously didn't budge. He had also tried to peek through the keyhole, praying for a miracle that he would somehow be dragged out. Which obviously didn't happen.

As Xing Peng laid near one corner of the room, he soon noticed there was a strange change occurring. Those originally rainbow-ish lights were becoming increasingly dark red in colour, as Xing Peng watched the change happening he was frightened.
what's happening here exactly? if anything bad happens now, wouldn't that mean i won't be able to escape?
When all of those rainbow-ish lights had been converted into dark red lights, they suddenly made a move and aimed at Xing Peng.
Xing Peng knew this was coming, it would definitely not be anything good. But being stuck in this room, he couldn't really escape.
Soon those red lights covered Xing Peng completely and in the next moment he felt immense heaven-shaking pain. Even though he was a soul now, the pain felt very much real. It was like being kicked in the nuts repeatedly.
"f*ck, i knew it. My fate has f*cked me over" shouted Xing Peng indignantly.
Xing Peng lay on the ground writhing in pain. After a good long time which seemed like a century to Xing Peng had passed, those dark red lights turned white and shot into the ground in front of Xing Peng. Those lights formed a sort of teleportation formation which Xing Peng had read about previously in novels.
Without thinking, Xing Peng immediately jumped into the teleportation formation. He didn't care where it would lead him to, At least wherever it would lead him to would be many times better than this place!
Well this time Xing Peng's hopes were fulfilled. When Xing Peng came to the other side of the teleportation formation, the formation mysteriously disappeared as if it didn't exist. But that was not important, the important fact was that Xing Peng found himself in a strange world.
He knew this was definitely not Earth, because he could see lot of lush greenery around him and those plants and trees were definitely not included among what he had studied during his botany lectures or rather he was sure these plants and trees could definitely not be found on Earth, he just had that feeling.

As he was enjoying the scenery, he suddenly noticed that his left-leg had mysteriously disappeared.
"what's going on here really?! Strange occurrences have occurred ever since i died! Let even a dead man have some peace." cried out Xing Peng.
This was really no joke, his left-leg had faded out into nothing and Xing Peng found his right-leg was also fading out.
Xing Peng knew that he was a soul, so how could he fade out for no reason at all?
Then it struck him! I am a soul! In many of other reincarnation novels he had read, the main character would find his soul already set in a new body as if everything was pre-arranged. But the same was not the case with Xing Peng, he was a freely-loitering soul. But this could perhaps be his chance!
If he could possess someone then he could be considered as reincarnated, just how cool that was.
And because he was a soul which had support of no body, he was slowly fading out due to the "laws of heaven and earth" or so it was called in that one novel he had read.
Xing Peng didn't remain on the same spot, he immediately floated towards a nearby town he had spotted near the horizon.
As he reached the town, Xing Peng didn't notice how aesthetic the town looked as it co-existed peacefully with nature. This was because Xing Peng's lower-half of the soul body had already completely dissipated into nothing on his way to the town. Xing Peng knew he was short on time, he looked around the town but all he could see were women around.
"oh god why are you doing this to me!" muttered Xing Peng nervously.
He was a solid omega-male and had lead his life as a male, so obviously he wanted to reincarnate as a male.
Xing Peng furiously searched the town but found no males.
"This is truly a harem-like town" laughed out Xing Peng depressingly. If it might have been some other men then they would have been more than happy to spend their days in a town filled with women.
But sadly Xing Peng wanted to find some young talented men so that he could try to take over their body to reincarnate. Although Xing Peng knew that if he carried out his plans and "reincarnated" then as per the novels he had read, the original host soul of the body would be killed off, he wasn't a bad person but to survive he had to take such measures.
"it seems like fate wants me to be reincarnated as a woman."Xing Peng sighed.
Xing Peng had only the head-part of his soul left as the rest of his soul-body below his neck had already dissipated away, he clearly didn't have much time left.
Xing Peng looked downwards and saw a young girl sleeping below a tree, which was around a huge patch of grass. Xing Peng looked pitifully at the girl, sighed. Then he slowly approached and entered inside her mind.
After Xing Peng had successfully entered her mind and was prepared to battle and kill off the host soul but after entering the mind, his soul immediately merged with the body like a fish inside water.
"this could only mean...that the body was soul-less before i occupied it, so this lass was already dead from before."muttered Xing Peng as he felt himself merging with the body.
Soon Xing Peng woke up in a new body and stretched his limbs, as he was doing so the memories of the lass kicked-in.
As Xing Peng went through the memories, his eyes couldn't help but brighten. It wasn't because he found out that the lass was possibly murdered but that this "lass" wasn't a lass at all!
It was in fact a boy who was in his teens and that he was often mistaken for a woman. Given his smooth jade-like skin with no facial-hair and that long hair which he didn't cut, served to only make one misunderstand his gender.

The Patchwork Realms
Athos is a good dog. He likes frisbee, bacon, and his family (SmolFriend, Mom, and Dad). He's not so keen on falling through an interdimensional portal to a fantasy world where floating boxes tell you that you've just been given status as the 'Supreme Exemplar' of your species, a powerful package of abilities that includes human-level intelligence. Sure, being smart is nice but less so when it comes with the need to survive in a land made from bits of different dimensions stitched together like patches in a quilt. A thousand species, a thousand lands, sorcery and super science rubbing elbows, wars and intrigue everywhere...it's exhausting for a good dog who just wants to go home! Note that this is a work in progress with lots of fiddly numbers so I will occasionally need to go back and fix errors, and this might affect events of earlier chapters. I'll try to keep this to a minimum and will post a note whenever it happens. [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]
