《Reincarnated Monarch》Prologue

Kim Dongsoo leaned back into his chair, finger rubbing at his tired eyes as he let out a groan. A 28-year old working salaryman working in a 9 to 5 job for a heartless corporation, ever since he had graduated from university with his Bachelors in Engineering, he had spent countless long nights working overtime in a job unrelated to his degree.
Just as he submitted the report that his manager had been pestering him for over the last 3 days, he heaved a sigh of relief. He glanced out of the broad windows, observing the disappearing rays of sunlight through the metal skeleton of a building under construction opposite to his office.
Quickly shutting down his workstation and packing his bags, he rushed out of his office building, striding towards the rail station, mind occupied with thoughts of a hot shower and rest after a long day of work and desperately trying to please his manager for the upcoming performance evaluation.
As he crossed the street, he pulled his smartphone out of his pants pocket, tapping rapidly on the screen as he continued to follow the sidewalk.
Ping! With a crisp sound, his phone alerted him to a message from his manager, telling him how the report he submitted was not up to par. Sighing dejectedly at the thought of the upcoming late nights he would be spending to refine the report, he heard a second Ping! sound.
Realising that his phone had not received any alerts, he glanced around in confusion, just to hear a shout from above his head. His gaze snapped upwards, pupils dilating in horror as he noticed an object hurtling towards him at tremendous speed.
His eyes had just enough time to register that the object dropping onto him was, in fact, a glass pane, and the figure of a construction site worker sticking out of a 7th story window, frantically yelling at him to escape , before his world went red.

Through a veil of fog, his felt and saw the glass pane shatter, splintering as it crashed down onto his head. He saw his body crumple and hit the pavement, felt as something within his head shattered and blood, accompanied with shards of bone poured out of the side of his head.
Screaming at himself to move, he attempted to get up from the ground, but all he managed to do was roll his body to face the sky. As he watched the blood flowing from his broken head flow into his eyes and taint the sky red, his fading consciousness only managed to form one coherent line of thought.
“I… don't want to die”
As his eyes closed, he saw people crowding around his, their voices barely audible. Then all he saw was black, as his consciousness faded into oblivion and his life flowed out of his broken body.

Where Giants Fall
A fantasy LitRPG about traversing through worlds and slaying giants with nothing but a wooden suit and an army of treants. Nicholas Atkins didn't expect to wake up naked in the glowing woods. What he did expect was waking up to a hangover after last night's party- fortunately, that wasn't the case. Unfortunately though, he had worse problems to take care of than a headache. At first he blamed it on the alcohol; from what he recalled in Biology, glowing flowers didn't exactly exist in the realm of reality. However he was as sober as he could be, so next he blamed the drugs, but there was a problem- he didn't have the money to do drugs in the first place. When the fairies came, things became even weirder. Talks of climbing towers, magic tricks, and dinner were all on the table. Of course, dinner was the priority, but so was getting back home. However slowly, Nico realized that he might actually want to stay in this fantasy world. After all, he's had enough listening to Professor Paul's lecture on calculus- the swords and sorceries were just an added bonus. Still, staying in this new world has its own costs- and money is but one thing on that long, long list. Updated everyday except Saturday GMT+8 (Specific time varies by around 30 minutes). Authors note: I appreciate feedback! Part of the reason I am releasing my chapters here is to benefit from reader feedback. If you have the time, please leave a review! Brian has lost everything he has ever held dear. Everyone who cared for him has died, in the most tragic manner possible. He no longer knows what to do. He sees no hope for the future in a world where anyone he loves will die. What is the point in trying in this reality if it all leads to sadness? And then along came the Ingenium, the worlds first true Virtual Reality device. And The Jianghu, a Wuxia-themed Virtual Reality MMO, came with it. Brian doesn't understand it yet, but he feels that both are connected with his dead parents and Uncle Jie. With the intent of figuring out what that connection is, or at least forgetting about his tragedy, he enters The Jianghu.
8 132The Last Human
I am the last human alive. My world is filled with magic and steam powered mecha. I have none of that. I am fragile in this world and if I wish to remain part of the races on this planet, I need to find a way to get back to earth and find a bride. The odds are stacked against me but the one thing I do have as a human is resiliance. I will find the portal that my parents travelled through and I will return to their home planet. That is my only goal. That is my only legacy and I must succeed. To anyone who finds this diary, please make it known that I did exist. If my race has died out, I was here. I was King. I am Adam Carter. I am the last Human.
8 131An Extra-Ordinary Story about Ordinary People
In a different world, a different reality, where ordinary people occasionaly have extra-ordinary powers for no particular reason, we follow a number of characters, trying their best to live in this strange yet normal world. We have our first character, a currently nameless but sentinent creature who happened to find himself in the body of a strange fungus after an unknown incident that robbed him of not only his former body but of his memory, as well. Secondly, we follow Smith, a high-standing man who doesn't even need to explain which Smith he is, on top of the world, yet human enough to meet said fungus. And thirdly, we have another nameless character, who is burdened by the ability to summon things that he doesn't want. A charming gang, who will (most likely) meet at some point. --- All and all, it's a twist on the common super-hero world, where all super-heroes have somehow dissappeared, but not the possibility for new ones. The series that feature the mushroom-dude are the 123 ones, the stories that feature Smith are the ABC ones, and the ones that feature our newest character, the summoner-dude, are the abc ones. Neat, huh? Also, just a word of warning? The 123 ones are kind wierd, and you can skip the first few chapters and go straight to the ABC ones without missing too much. But I'd rather you didn't, since i really enjoyed writing them. In ABC and abc, the format changes to a more typical form, with proper grammar and stuff. So if you dont like the 123, I'd love it if you gave the ABC a chance :^) Anyhow, I hope you enjoy it!
