It is now spring, the season of new beginnings.

The Royal Magic Academy also begins its new term in spring.

Teenagers from nobility, who were fifteen years of age, all enter the Royal Magic Academy as long as they carried even a whiff of magic abilities. Though in the minorities, some commoners who bore strong magic powers were also granted scholarships to attend the academy.

The Rosenbells were no different.

Starting from this spring onwards, the twin children of the Rosenbell Household will officially begin their higher education at the academy, just like their brother, parents, and grandparents before them.

Julius and Friar Rosenbell had already moved into their dorm rooms over the course of the winter break, so they had been in the capital for over two months already. By the time the new school year started, they were already familiar with the layout of the academy. On the other hand, Frederick Rosenbell, their elder brother, being the heir, had already returned to their fief, preparing to take over their father’s tasks.

The orientation ceremony for the first year students of Royal Magic Academy was about to start, but the event committee members and teachers were running around in a rush.

“Have you seen him?!”

“He’s not here!”

“I’ve checked his rooms; he wasn’t there!”

This was because the leading man, the freshmen representative and most talented first year student Julius Rosenbell was nowhere in sight. Everyone had been searching for him high and low, yet not even his shadow could be seen.

“He’s still not found?!”

“Ah~! Just where could he have gone?!”

The boy in question was standing in the middle of a small garden full of white flowers.

Since the place was rather isolated and private, no one was able to spot him. Rather, they had not even thought about checking the place since they were too frazzled.

Julius stood quietly, staring at the flowers, deep in thought. He could faintly feel a dull ache in his heart that caused him to frown.

He lost his bearings for a brief moment, but that short moment was all it took for him to completely raze the garden to the ground. In the blink of an eye, the beautiful, small patch of white flowers were cut into half by a sharp blade of wind he sent out, making for a rather messy but beautiful sight.

“Hey! What are you doing?!” A feminine voice cried.

Julius turned to look at the voice emotionlessly, seeming as if he had done nothing wrong.

“The poor flowers… how could you do something like that!” The girl kneeled next to the fallen flowers, virtually in tears. She whipped her head to glare at the boy.

Julius ignored the fuming girl after glancing at her dismissively, walking away from the crime scene.

“Hey! Wait right there!” The girl shouted. “I said wait!”

Julius continued to walk without sparing her another look. However, the girl did not seem to want to let him go quietly, instead reaching to pull his arm.

“Apologise!” The girl firmly said.

“…” Julius halted his steps, then slowly but intimidatingly turned his head around. The cold look on his face and the aura he emitted truly resembled the Viscount’s. The girl’s hold on his arm slightly faltered, but she still did not let go.

“Apologise?” Julius tilted his head, his voice dangerously low. “To the flowers?” He smirked coldly, his tone incredulous.

The girl trembled, feeling a slight feeling of fear emerging, “Y-yes! The flowers were alive, and they had feelings too. Apologise to them, now!”

“Ha.” Julius sneered, slapping her hand away roughly.

“Hey! Wait!” The girl held her reddened hand with teary eyes. Seeing that the boy really had no intentions of looking back, she stomped her feet in anger and bit her lip.

“That crude boy…” She sniffed, holding in her tears. She looked towards the flowers, her gaze softening. “Don’t worry, I’ll fix you up…” With her eyes closed and her palms held together in a prayer-like pose, a light emitted from the girl. When she opened them up again, the small garden returned to its condition before Julius decided to destroy it, looking as if nothing changed.

“There, there,” the girl mumbled, caressing the petals of the flowers extremely gently. “All better now.”

And so, that was how the first commoner student of Royal Magic Academy in five years, the florist girl Lily, met with one of her future suitors, the top scholar Julius Rosenbell.
