《NO STRINGS ATTACHED》CH. 58

Shen decided to leave Lera and Verena arguing while he went towards the twenty fallen men. Atem went with him skipping like a little boy.
Atem: What should we do~ Oh, what should we do~ With you~
???: The Gods won't forgive you for this! Heretics! You shall burn for eternity after you die!
???: The Order will hunt you down till only ashes are left of you!
???: Death to heretics!
Atem: So, what do you plan to do with them~?
Shen looked around and saw an anthill not far. He walked to it. There weren't many ants in there...But since there was one, there would be more around. He turned to Atem and told him:
Shen: You can get them to come over here, right?
Atem: But of course!
Shen: Do it then. I will round them up first.
Atem: Yes~!
Shen walked back to the twenty men and created fireballs. He threw them at the men until they were naked. And slightly burnt but not dangerously. Just painfully. Then, he began to move them creating a corpse mountain with each man with another man's thing in his mouth. It was two birds with stone as it prevented them from speaking (at least a bit) and was both embarrassing and disgusting to them too. Dying with their comrades dick in their mouths wasn't a pleasant death option.
This was far from enough as Shen called up to Tempest this time.
Shen: Take out some of the sugared booze.
Tempest: ...Do you really want to waste it here?
Shen held out his hand without another word and Tempest reluctantly gave him what he wanted. An entire baril of booze that had been made with extra sugar. Shen began to drop the liquid on the bodies of the men. They were still very much conscious of what was happening.

Once this was done, he turned to Atem who was humming in happiness. Behind him were thousands and thousands of ants. Some more were probably hard at work creating new homes for their colonies. If you can control the minds of men, you could no doubt control those of ants and it proved useful in such weird situations...
Shen: Alright, Atem, you can do it now.
Atem: With pleasure~
The order was sent to the minds of the hives and soon the bodies were covered by ants. They weren't going to die painlessly. The trio kept on watching the poor men being devoured alive by thousands of ants.
Meanwhile the girls were arguing.
Verena: Lera! Why didn't you tell me you were going to revive the Great God!
Lera: How was I supposed to know that was Shen?! Why didn't you tell me?!
Verena: Everyone knows who the Great God is! He is the Great God after all!
Lera: I did not!
Verena: You were there when he was! Before he left!
Lera: Yes I was but I don't remember him being a Great God!
Verena: He was our vampire tribe's Great God!
Lera: Then why did you not react when I told you!
Verena: You didn't tell me you were bringing the Great God back!
Lera: I said I was bringing Shen back!
Verena: I did not know the Great God's name!
Lera: How could you not know the name of your God?!
Verena: The Great God is the Great God! Mom never told me more!
Lera: It ain't my fault then!
Verena: It is! You knew he was our revered one! You had to! Mom told me you followed him everywhere!
Lera: He never considered himself your God!
Adeline: W-well, p-please, both of you...
Verena & Lera: You shut up!

Cynthia: ...What's this about Great God anyways? And what do you mean vampire?!
They all turned towards Cynthia. That's when Lera remembered that both girls weren't aware of all the story. Cynthia had her memory of it wiped clean. Right, she was not on the side of the three demon emperors...
Lera: *cough* It's nothing. Why don't you go check on the men, Cynthia, while we settle this?
Cynthia: Uh? Well, it beats listening to your screams...
Cynthia went to the men's group only to find them grinning at the sight of twenty men being devoured alive by ants. Many ants. It was disgusting to say the least and she wasn't ready for this kind of sight. She fell down on her knees and began to vomit violently.
Atem turned around at the noise and as he saw her, he hurried to create a barrier around Shen, Tempest and the dying ones. Then, he rushed to her side and held her hair out of her face while he pat her and nursed her.
'Atem: What a blunder! I let her saw an unsightly sight!'
Atem: Cynthia, are you alright?
Cynthia: What the fuck was that, Atem?! They..- They- They were being devoured by ants! For fuck's sake! Ants!
Atem: Ok. Take a deep breath-
Cynthia: I'm not taking any deep breath! What the fuck was that Atem?!
Atem: ...Shen's idea.
Cynthia: For fuck's sake! What's wrong with you all?! How could you do this to people?!
Atem: Let's take a step back, ok? How many people have they killed? How did they kill them? Painlessly? I doubt it. They didn't seem to be that kind of gentlemen.
Cynthia: And because they are devils, you have to be one too?!
That was such an unexpected reply that Atem froze for a moment. She wasn't wrong. Just because some people did bad things didn't mean that you had to do bad things to them in return. The moral thing to do would have been to simply kill them. There was no need to force them to suffer... He could have taken the grown man's approach but ended up doing something childish.
An eye for an eye was not the way to do things if you were trying to be a good man. He wasn't. But he wanted her to see him as one. To like him as one. Since there was no way she would love the real him... So, he answered her:
Atem: You are right. I am sorry. I drowned in my hate and failed to see the right thing to do...
Cynthia: ... Stop it now!
Atem: ..Yes..
He touched her forehead and she passed out. Then, he gently took out some cushions and laid her down. Finally, he went back inside the barrier to enjoy round 2 of the show.

(Synopsis) Domhain - a world split between five nations and five unique magical gifts; home of elves, dwarves, goblins, trolls, and humans, each of them so different but in reality more alike than anyone would like to acknowledge. Twenty years ago, the humans, weakest of the five, secretly acquired powerful magic and set out for war. The united forces of the other nations stood no chance. Humanity prevailed, proving itself as the new leader of the modern world. Now, Domhain is at peace but tensions are rising again. The humans want more than their territory back. They want it all. And they want revenge. But this time, the elves hide a dark power, and will stop at nothing to wipe the humans off Domhain forever. War is inevitable. Thousands will die. Ph. D. In Sorcery
Follow Anastasia, the unlucky physicist turned wizard, as her reality gets turned upside down and she is plunged into a world of gods, magic, swords, and adventure. Short and sweet description, anything more would be a spoiler and I detest those. Now, what you can expect from reading: This is my first time writing, or better said allowing someone else to read that mess so don’t raise your expectations too much. Still, I will try to keep the story flowing, while also devoting as much time as I can to editing. In my opinion, the story is written at a faster pace than normal with time skips here and there. I will do my best to not allow the faster pace to ruin the story by using those time skips to raise the skill of the main character. I am mainly looking for feedback while I test myself in new and unexplored waters. I did put a lot of thought into worldbuilding and the magic system, it is something that has been mulling inside my head for years before I sat down to write anything down. First and foremost I am an engineer and not a writer. I will try to do my utmost to make the world logical and consistent, but sometimes I might not express that in a way that’s clearly understood. I have a rough outline with several possible endings, but the story will change and evolve as I do. But in case I have to stop for whatever reason, the story will get an ending. It will be done even if I have to send coded messages from a bunker. I am a big fan of the Dresden Files so you can be certain that everything mentioned will in most cases be used, with a few red herrings sprinkled in the mix. But that also means I will enjoy putting the main character through the meat grinder while I eat popcorn and laugh from my evil lair. Physics, and to be more precise electromagnetism, quantum field theory, general and special relativity are very interesting topics for me that I research in my spare time. That means that the premise of the story will be using that research to bring logic to magic. Stupid I know, magic is magic, but to me, there is no reason why there shouldn’t be a concrete set of rules there. But it is still magic and that allows me to play with some things that shouldn’t normally be possible. I will focus on evolving the main character and having her react as anyone normal would, from my perspective. There will be scenes of battle, gore, and sexy times, but I will not go into too many details, counting on your imagination to fill the gaps. There will be plenty of combat, even battles ranging from a few dozen, a hundred, and thousands of participants. I could go on but there isn’t much to say that would convince anyone to read, either you thought the title was cool or you liked the poster. Or not, but after several days in photoshop, that’s the best I could do. And the title was originally Sorceress with a Ph.D. The new one makes a little less sense but I like the ring of it more for some reason. I just hope someone enjoys what I write as much as I do. In the end that is the reason, I am doing this, because I enjoy putting my thoughts on paper and seeing the outcome. Credit for the art: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/e0o8nw

The Garbage Man
2021/10/20 - Taking this down for a complete rewrite. I like the plot but the writing on the first attempt is... Garbage :/ Jack was just waiting for the storm to pass. It wouldn't. What it did was take him on the journey of a lifetime. A lot of lifetimes, in fact. This is a cultivation/wuxia story at its core. May contain young masters, martial arts and magic. * 14/08/2020 - Rough editing done on the published chapters, hooray! Now to resume normal - edited! - releases.
