《NO STRINGS ATTACHED》CH. 52

As he was internally being saddened, a loud chuckle was heard from the crowd behind him. A sound he recognized. From a most disgusting being. The crowd parted like a receding tide to clear a path for the monstrosity that kept chuckling. Only a rusted helmet with patched cracks was seen of the man who was hiding everything inside a mantle far too big for him. The mantle of the night's color was trailing all over the ground surrounding that being.
As he approached Wurm, one could see two tiny red lights from inside the helm. The being walked right in front of the man. They were face to face, surprisingly of the same height and similar physical build. This being was another of the five legends.
???: Wurm, could it be that you are also interested in this one? Are we going to be working together again after so long?
Wurm: Der...I have no plans to send myself on a fool's errand. And I rather never ever work alongside a repulsive being like you.
Der??: My name is not Der!
Wurm: No one can fucking pronounce your name anyways. I'm leaving. Have fun playing the fool.
Der??: Are you afraid? Now that a real fight opportunity comes, are you not going to take it?!
Wurm turned around and answered with a very cold tone:
Wurm: If I can't be paid, it's not a job. I hope you die this time.
Der??: Ahahah! Coward!
The reptilian humanoid left without turning around while the strange helmed being laughed madly. He spread his hands and said:
Der??: Come on! Are there no longer any strong men here?! Who dares to come fight alongside me, the impervious, Derjnedbezirozfn!
Many mercenaries were excited by the quest at first. Now they were even more excited as they might be able to build a connection to one of the five legends. This could be their first steps towards becoming legends themselves! Leaving their own names behind in the History!

At that time, there was another reptilian, smaller than the legend that had left, who was also getting excited at the prospect. He was the son of Wurm and, hoping to prove his true worth to his father, was eyeing this bountyhunt as if a sweet delicious pie.
...
Inside the agency, in the owner's private desk, two females were discussing. They were both parts of the five and one was also the owner of the agency. The owner was of the Phytotian race, humanoid shrooms. She had bright fluorescent blue-emerald body color and a giant circular red shroom growing all around her head as if an hat. She had long auburn hair flowing down to her behind, leaving with every moment a slight window to peek at her skin uncovered by the open-back tight red dress she wore.
She was currently looking quite amused towards the other female in the room. She was a nulltread with the physical beauty of an elf, the color of a perfect tan and four pointed horns growing from the back of her head and circling it before ending pointed forwards. It made her short brown haird look as if it was in a natural cascading kind of haircut. She too was wearing a very tight fitting dress.
The two were good friends and had been such since a very long time ago. They had been drinking together while gossiping before they sensed the arrivals of two other legends. It was a very rare occurence to find so many of them at the same place and the same time, even if it was the agency.
???: Hydnellia, why did you even allow that bounty?
Hydnellia: And why not, Nasuta?
Nasuta: Isn't it obvious? The guy won't pay. He plans to use the mercenaris as meat shield!
Hydnellia: Since when were you so altruist?

Nasuta: Shouldn't you be? Since you're the agency master and everything?
Hydnellia: That is exactly why I accepted it. It is time to thin the ranks. Let the fools go and die so that the good crops can developp further.
Nasuta: ...What about the contractor?
Hydnellia: Him? While what he did is useful, I must maintain my image. I put a secret bounty on his head too. Der will go after him once his contract is fulfilled. We bring him back alive and slaughter him as an example to the masses. After he pays his dues.
Nasuta: Sounds like a good deal, could you put me in on it? I believe a secret mission straight from the owner should be very rewarding~
Hydnellia: It is. But you shouldn't go. I don't want my last old friend to die.
Nasuta: ...Is there something else you know?
Hydnellia: Well, while he did not give much information, he did give us pictures of the targets, as usual in such cases. I happened to be an acquaintance to one of them.
Nasuta: Wow. You agreed to put a bounty on a friend of yours? That's some business dedication. ... You wouldn't agree to a bounty on my head, right?
Hydnellia: Fu~fu~fu~ Don't worry, I would never. That guy is one of my ex...He was too much of a sadist, like me, so it did not work out. We had a little quarrel~
Nasuta: That guy you told me about long ago? The one with the impressive Magic?
Hydnellia: Himself. I am surprised you remember that.
Nasuta: You haven't had many real lovers since you became a legend after all.
Hydnellia: True. Anyways, you're better off not going. That man was strong.
Nasuta: How strong?
Hydnellia: He was the one to win our quarrel~ And if his two pals are like him...
Nasuta: I got it. I won't go. I am quite curious though...You think we could send a recorder?
Hydnellia: If we could find a willing one, why not? It could be very entertaining~
Nasuta: I got just the guy for this~
