《NO STRINGS ATTACHED》CH. 27

As Tempest's turn came and he appeared on the arena, the rest of his team was observing by the side. He came here right on time however he was not alone. As such, there were two additionnal women on the bench. They were ignoring and being ignored by the trio though.
Adeline: Do we really need to watch his match? I mean, he did not even watch yours...
Shen: We have to unfortunately...or he might do something stupid like Atem.
Atem: *cough*
...
Facing Tempest were four warriors and six mages. He was obviously considered a warrior and the opponent was targeting this fact. Keep him at bay and bombard him. Would it work though?
In any case, the host gave the green light and the battle began. As it did, Tempest took off his hood and took a pose. He pushed his muscular upper body forward, had his legs close together and spread his arms wide. With a grin upon his face, he bodly declared:
Tempest: Show me your worth!
It did not take long for the opponents to be in formation with the four warriors in the front shielding the Mages while they prepared their Magic. Yet, while they were casting, Tempest remained immobile in the pose he took. He was waiting for it.
And the magic was launched. Six powerful spells of different elements went straight for his lone figure on the arena. There was a loud explosion as all the spells hit on the location. The smoke was thick and it took a few seconds before they could see. While they were waiting, of course, the Mages, as professionnals, had already prepared the second volley. Just in case.
And they would have to send it for Tempest remained there unhurt and retaining his pose. The second volley was launched. However, this time, as the smoke disappeared, the 'Tempest' was not the real one. It was an ice statue that was being shattered.

At the same time, from behind the mages, there was a raucous laughter as the real Tempest seemed to exit from the air itself as mist surrounded his body. At that moment, he used his incredible speed to pounce on the Mages and one by one was punching them out of bounds. Quite savagely but not to the point where their lives would be on the lines.
Of course, some mages had the time to escape using a blinking kind of spell. He still managed to take down four of the six. And now, the four warriors were upon him with their gigantic weapons. He took the same pose as before and let them slash their swords. However only a metallic sound was heard as all the swords bounced on his body.
Then, he began to exchange blows with the warriors, limiting his strength to enjoy the fight more and give a greater show. The Mages left were shooting weaker but more precise spells at him too but he took everything on with no injuries.
He dispatched the warriors after some time and rushed towards one of the Mages. At the last moment, the grinning mage used his blinking technique to move away instantly to the opposite side of the arena. However, at the very same moment, a grinning Tempest used the very same technique and reappeared in front of the Mage who this time did not have the time to react.
He was punched straight and hardly into the ribs and flew into the stands. Tempest turned around to the last Mage while laughing and said:
Tempest: What made you think only you guys could use that spell anyways?! Ahahahah!
As he was getting to rush, the last mage jumped of his own free will outside the arena. He was giving up. Since he knew he had no chance whatsoever, he would rather not be hit. A wise decision.

Tempest was declared winner. They said that the official papers and badges would be delivered in five days. However, before anyone had left, and while Tempest had strangely remained on the arena, he spoke:
Tempest: I have something to say!
Everyone stopped and looked towards him, the lone wolfman on the arena. He grinned as he took out a huge pile of blue papers. Then, he spoke:
Tempest: To celebrate our successful examinations, we invite all the powerful and beautiful to the greatest party of all times at our Manor! Right here and right now, I'll be giving out these hundred invitations! Each one will allow entry to two people! However, do not worry even if you do not get one and aren't invited by a friend who did! We will leave two hundred places to be taken tonight! Come to the Manor! Whoever is deemed worthy by the gatekeeper will be allowed in!
As he finished his words, he threw his arms in the air along with all the blue papers. Then, strangely, the papers exploded into blue light and out of each a small ice wolf that seemed to be made of blue fire appeared. They began to run through the air in all kinds of direction.
All the adventurers who had battled today found themselves with a wolf circling them. All the powerful people with strength that was close to that level also had one. There were also some wolves who were cricling around random people in the stands. These were hidden powerful figures. And the fact that the wolves were with them meant one thing. They were being sent a message: "we know you're here"
As everyone was anxious to figure out what those wolves were, they exploded in fireworks and a blue letter replaced them. The very same one that was on Tempest's hands at first.
As the grinning wolfman was leaving the arena, he spoke once again:
Tempest: So many strong people! It should be quite the rare occasion so let us all meet! Tonight! At our Mansion!
As the wolfman joined back with the others and picked the two women with one on each arm, the other two sighed. It seemed like the wolfman couldn't remain low key for even a day.

The Traitor Games
Welcome to the Traitor Games, and congratulations on your invitation to join as one of the races putting on a show for the galaxy. Your species has been judged as too violent for integration into the Galactic Conglomerate and thus the decision has been made to relegate you to a probationary period during which members of your species will be pitted against each other in games of lies and betrayal. Unfortunate, but the great thing about a probationary period is that it can end! How can we do that; you might be asking. Well, that's easy, if those participants can earn enough points through playing the games, they can potentially buy out your probationary time. Of course, other rewards will also be on offer for success in the games, and if none of your species chooses to be selfless, well then it just goes to show that you wouldn't have been a good fit for us anyway. All those on Earth unlucky enough to not be chosen to become part of one of the most popular shows on Galactic Television, fear not. We will be streaming the various games your race is participating in all across the world. Should we run out of participants, even with our most generous three life system, we will draw more from the population. Good Luck! Noah Landry is one of these participants, he just doesn't know it yet. He blacks out while walking to the local bar McCaffery's, and finds himself, somewhere else. He's wearing clothing he doesn't remember putting on and rocking an absolute banger of a headache. Now he needs to figure out where he is, what's going on, and how he can get out of the Traitor Games. [Participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]
