"The demon race had been one of the ancient races that roots even way back the very first days of Mytherion, for how long Mytherion had even lived as a planet, that I could not estimate. Even the oldest books could only estimate Mytherion’s age was about 6000 years. There were four ancient races that have lived and was recorded on these most ancient history books available: The Humans, the Demons, the Divines, and the Demi-humans. All of these just branch out to multiple sub-races and whatsoever factions. Those I won’t be tackling in this story I’m about to tell.

We were a very proud race for ever since when I could start to remember. I knew a lot, I’ve learned a lot, I have to. I was a royalty for all I know. This pride we have been holding might have been the sole reason as to why we have been involved in countless of conflicts between other races. Well that’s why I have been working my ass off to end those as soon as possible or even before my reign came to an end.

It didn’t matter anymore since I had been long dead there on my previous world though.

Being the leader of the entire demon race, I Fredericus Corralton Spence de Augustus, or rather addressed to as the ‘Maou’, have done everything I could within my capabilities to lead the entire demon race. I had been living for long to be considered as an old demon, for demons spans age of more than hundred years. We’re not immortals, even old age had been our very sole grim reaper.

I’ve lived the past 80 or so years of my life, fulfilling the duties of the ‘Maou’ that leads the demon race generations per generations. The very first was to gather enough knowledge about the past, almost everything that involved the demon race. Second one was to gather the three of the destined highest generals which became an obligatory task for the succeeding ‘Maou’ since the second-gen. The very last one was to fulfill my sole obligation and lead the whole demon army to a war against the humans.

And so the story went…"

SMACK!!

"OUCH!! What was that for?!"

“Aaaahg!! Cut to the main story already. I’ve been getting tired of these introductions that everytime you have to tell a part of the story to me, you have been telling too. How many times have I heard of this introduction already?!!!”

Ingrid was furious.

“Eeh?! But I have to tell it. Won’t a good story need a good introduction first? Like a background story?”

“We’ve been living together for three years now and you’ve been telling me the same stuff.”

“For the record we’re not living together. Don’t make it sound like we’re already married.”

Fred and Ingrid were sitting at the couch inside Fred’s unit, not the studio one. There was not much work to do at that moment. They have finished their pending stuff to submit to Seria too. Fred let Kyrie and Ara have a break and do their stuff for a while, whichever it may like shopping, going out with friends etc.

“This is your all your fault.”

“Why?!! What did I even do?!!”

“I—I mean you should have brought a reference book with you from when you got transferred here.”

“That’s absurd! You’re telling me I should have brought with me history books and references right at my final battle with Yuusha where I got stabbed and died??”

“Yeah!”

The topic was going nowhere. This were one of the very few instances where Fred was actually the one in control of the topic. Fred talking about Yuusha still would hurt her feelings even though those were already far distant memories for Fred. Fred might be a former Maou but at Earth he was just an ordinary average human so having a memory of someone for the past two years could be considered long enough already to forget. Having her pride hurt, Ingrid was too flustered to defend herself. Fred noticed it so he decided to go back from the start. He did not want to be in bad terms with Ingrid too.

“Okay, Okay, I’ll be telling it already, just wait.”

“What do you mean wait?”

Ingrid questioned.

“I’m still remembering some important parts. My memory was not too great here compared to when I was back at Mytherion.”

Nerves popped out of Ingrid’s forehead like fireworks.

“I’ve just asked when the first meeting you had with Yuusha was. I don’t need a long backstory”

“Right, right, here we go.”

0. Intro of the Fated Encounter 1

Fredericus Corralton Spence de Augustus, narration via Earth Fred.

Pre-Mytherion, 33 years before Great Human-Demon War

Just like at Earth, Mytherion had day cycles too. If I would compare the cycle between the two, a week at Mytherion would need about two and a half weeks here at Earth to finish. Days and nights had been either longer or shorter and it really depends on the placement of the planet within the orbit so that would be a rough estimate.

If Earth would have weekends, Mytherion would have these days called grace days. These days everybody spends just like how humans at earth does: to rest or do recreational stuff. All types of work are being suspended, other than businesses that needed to run all days of the week.

Being asleep for long, I just wanted to take all my free time to rest before an actual ‘you really need to do this’ comes up and consumes my grace days period.

I was awoken from my deep slumber.

“Master, Master, you need to wake up.”

I squinted my eyes. It was already morning. My faint flurry vision could see a silhouette of someone waking me up which I was sure was Morgianna based on the way she talked.

My head’s splitting. What time is it?…

“Uuuuhg. Just let me sleep for a few more moments.”

My blankets were warm, and it have always kept me safe from the cold temperature of the whole room.

“What would it need to wake you up? Do you need some caressing from me?”

The laziness I immediately perished. I woke up due to a sentence that I did not want to hear.

The person, or the succubus rather, that had been trying her best to wake me up was Morgianna. She had been my companion and one which I acknowledged as a little sister ever since we’ve been together. We had a lot experience we had shared together but still she had been sticking to her duties as my personal guardian too. It was just until recently that she started acting natural with me. Sure took her time.

“Hey. Don’t I’m ordering you not to.”

“And who’s saying I can’t again? Who do you think is in charge on here?~~”

Her voice was near my ears. Her breathing could be felt on my cheeks which sends chills down on my spine. I didn’t want to open my eyes because I might see something vulgar and inappropriate. She then slipped her hands inside my shirt, gently slide it at my abdomen, towards my chest and towards my cheek.

“Hey hey hey!! Stop!”

I was startled. Even though I knew she could act like this at times, and though it’s only a natural way of teasing me because I’ve been thickheaded and she got annoyed.

“Ooookay, but first you need to dress up!”

She then suddenly pulled my shirt upwards and started to undress me.

“Wha—Hey don’t!”

This was one of the things I’ve been having a hard time to deal with. At times Morgianna will try to seduce me bit by bit then will suddenly get serious and turn into a motherly figure which always scold me after noticing my wrongdoings.

“You have been using this same shirt for how many days now.”

“But it’s comfy.”

“No it stinks already. I’ll be giving this to the maids to be put to the laundry.”

“NOOOO!!”

That was when I felt the coldness of the room. I held my slender body by myself in attempt to keep myself warm. I didn’t know whether it was just my mindset telling me it’s cool and demons really were cold-blooded that we didn’t even need protection to the cold or I was really just feeling cold. In any case, my mind tells me not to expose my body to the cold so much or I might catch a cold, if ever I could.

“Brrrrr…. It’s freezing. Give me back my favorite shirt…”

“Proctor Miriara had called for you. It seems like there’s work to do.”

“Not at this daaaaay. I just want to rest!”

“Don’t be so stubborn, you’re not a child anymore.”

“…”

I stared into blank space, still hoping somebody would pull me out of this reality and transfer me to an imaginary world, or an isolated capsule of sleep and rest.

Well if it’s the proctor that called it must be something really important.

It should be something important since my proctor was the one who requested it. Also, there had been no reason for me to avoid my duties, for I have far long set my mind for ending this war against the humans. The proctor was one of my ‘trusted demons’ ever since the incident with the Thelesmatas, so if she requests for me then it would be because of something important.

“Okay, okay. Give me about a few minutes. Besides, I don’t want to anger Proctor Miriara as much as possible. She’s just as scary as my Father.”

“Make it one minute.”

“…You’re asking too much….”

---

My room was at the very top of the demon palace. It was a very cliché location to hide princess in which the white knight prince should encounter all quests, trials and hardships just to climb and reach her. But it was my room in this case. For several decades I’ve been living at a room near my parents and guardians. But as I grew up I’ve managed to convince them to move my own personal space at the castle. That’s how I ended up with my current state. Being at the very top of the castle with my own personal space frees me from the watchful eyes at the main building. At least that’s the last place to find me whether I tried to escape my duties and just take a good night rest.

The spiral stairway down from the topmost room of the castle towards the highest accessible floor was the only way in and out from my room and there were very few selected individuals, Morgianna included, who could climb it and access my room.

“My master, you have become too heavy. You’re developing unnecessary fats all over your body. You better work out.”

“Just carry me, I order you. Besides, I’m still warming up my body. I was just suddenly woken up and I need to warm my body first before having excessive workout.”

“So this is the warmup that you’re talking about?”

At the age of around forty she have developed her ability of flight, mostly due to her traits as a succubus. With that, I’ve been asking her to carry me whenever I feel lazy walking. My body was wrapped by her arms which supported me like a young baby being carried by her child sister, while flying.

“Do you think I don’t notice that you’re just doing this just to take advantage of my well-developed body pressing at your back right now to fill-in your sexual desires?”

“Wha-?! What are you talking about? I never once did think that way. Jeez…”

What I was saying was true. I was dumbfounded by what Morgianna was talking about. Why would I ever lewd someone who I treat as a family. Rather why would I ever lewd someone for no reason at all. I tried to keep quiet and thought of something to answer Morgianna as she further extends the argument.

“Besides… If—if you just tell me… I’d be glad to.”

WHY?!!

She’s a succubus. One of her known abilities were opposite-sex seduction. There had been instances that it just randomly activates and she accidentally releases highly-concentrated aphrodisiac which could even affect me if I became careless.

Her random moodswings pose a real threat for me so I did my best to keep up with turning her back to the ‘normal Morgianna’ if ever she turns Succubus-mode.

“Do-don’t! Please don’t cross that line. We’re already at the age where we’re already accountable for our actions. How could you think of something so childish? What if your traits as a succubus suddenly activated and caught me off guard? Do you think I’d be able to reverse the effect myself once it hit me?”

“…”

Morgianna paused for a moment. The awkward air filled the surrounding.

“We-well in any case I think we should hurry.”

I cut the awkwardness off by going back to the main topic. The past years had been like that for me and Morgianna since she developed maturity. It might be up to the moment I died back at Mytherion that I was still wondering what have made her that way: was it just because it had always been a passive to her, or maybe because she had really started to think of me as something other than her older brother, that I really did not want to be overconfident of myself. In any case at times that I needed to draw a line just to have her stop acting awkward towards me, then I would.

At times she gets to clingy, then she will get too childish, then she will get too condescending, then she will get awkward. It had been an endless cycle for almost several succeeding decades.

“Hoooh, now we’re talking. Let’s pick up the pace. You haven’t seen me at my full speed yet.”

That’s the sentenct I didn’t want to hear the most.

“Wait… You don’t mean… No no no!! We’re heading downstairs it’s dangerous!”

She had done this to me countless of times already. I wondered too why I was always getting caught on that trap. It might be because I’ve always shown her a lazy side of me which she and only she knew.

“It will only feel like descending while riding a flying dragon. We’ve done this countless of times already.”

She tightened up her grip on me, like a clingy lover that won’t ever let go. I could feel the softness of her body pressing against my back, but that was the least of my worries at that moment. She was about to descend the spiral staircase with a speed of a racecar while flying. I did not know if her body’s already used to it or she had been practicing, but it was certain that I’m not.

“LEEEEESGOOO!!”

“NOOOOOOO!!!!!”
