《Ninth World: Prima Natus Vampire》20. Boar Slam

Time went by peacefully and finally night fell. The two moons were now up in the sky and the sun was nowhere to be seen. At this time two girls were sleeping in each other's embrace with calm and satisfied expressions. A soft hand caressed the hair of the two in an attempt to wake them up as softly as possible.
“Master, Aurora, it's time to wake up”
Mia’s soft voice would have lulled anyone to sleep instead of waking them up. If it had been up to her, she would have let the two continue wandering through dream land. After all, if Mia were to go all out not to mention one boar even a hundred would be a piece of cake. However, she had been explicitly told not to surpass the power of a normal person unless absolutely necessary by her master.
Slowly the two girls opened their eyes after a long yawn. Aurora was the first one to come to her senses. She quickly got out of bed and began preparing for her mission. It was a given something like this would happen, her excitement for this mission was above everyone else’s. On the other hand Lilith was barely keeping her eyes open. The comfort of being hugged by Aurora had robbed her of any will to get up.
After a while everyone was ready to head out. It took a while mostly because of Lilith’s grogginess which refused to go away. That was a given since the three mascots didn’t have to do any preparations. Mia hadn’t slept and she had been prepared since the beginning. Aurora had prepared quickly due to her excitement. The rather lazy and slow to wake up Lilith was the one dragging everyone else down this time.
Now that the group was ready they walked out of their rented room and headed for the fields. Most of the damage the boar had caused was concentrated on the fields near the forest. Because of this, the group decided to separate and cover the said area with the previous determined groups.
In this rather chilly night the stars shone in the cloudless sky. The pair of moons looked like a pair of heterochromatic eyes looking upon the world. In this calmness finally the troublemaker decided to make its appearance. Normally, a simple boar would be no problem for the residents of this village, a few arrows would suffice. This time however, the boar had been mutated by mana becoming a beast.

In Aurora’s vision, which was clear as day, a massive boar appeared out of the forest. Its bulging muscles could clearly be seen through its tough hide. Above all what made this boar look imposing was its size of two meters tall and five in length and its twisted tusks. A normal girl Aurora’s age would have gone weak on the knees from the sight. However, Aurora is not a normal girl, at least not anymore.
In a moment Aurora’s heart began beating faster out of the sheer thrill of her first combat. A rather sinister smirk bloomed on her face as killing intent began emanating from the girl. The instincts of a predator slowly overwhelmed her senses. The boar instantly noticed the thick killing intent that was being directed on its way.
To the boar's surprise a small beat-girl was the one emitting the killing intent. How dare such a feeble being challenge it! Without a second thought the boar began its charge towards the weak girl. Instead of running in fear like the boar expected Aurora charged at it. From a bystander's point of view it looked like a little girl was looking to get squashed by the hulking mass.
The results of the collision was amazing to say the least. Aurora didn’t get squashed but instead stopped the boar dead in its tracks. Her two hands firmly holding the beast’s tusks as cracking sounds could be heard from the sheer pressure her fingers were putting on them. The surprised boar had stopped moving due to shock but the unbelievable events were not over.
With herculean strength Aurora lifted the monster from the ground as her feet began sinking on the soft dirt due to the added weight. Now the panicking board was flailing around above Aurora’s head. In the next instant a loud thud reverberated in the area as the boar's heavy body was slammed onto the ground with an absurd amount of force.
The impact had been enough to not only break a few ribs of the poor boar but its tusks as well. Shadow who had been waiting for an opportunity to strike dashed forward and sank its claws precisely on the boar's neck artery. Blood began pouring out of the wound like a fountain as the boar squealed in pain and fear. Then silence, like that the battle was over.
Thankfully the residents of the village hadn’t seen a thing. All of them were hiding inside their houses out of fear of being killed by the beast. After all, who would believe such a strange group could actually deal with such a troublesome foe.

“I did it!”
With that shout fueled by pure excitement Aurora announced to the seven winds her victory and the success of her first mission as an adventurer. Not long after,Lililth accompanied by Silver and Mia accompanied by Sapphire appeared. The group was full of smiles as the vampire and dhampir congratulated the smiling wolf-girl.
“I wanted to see your first fight!”
After a while that complaint was heard from Lilith. Now that the excitement of victory had settled down all of them went back to their room. Aurora had told them about the confrontation. Because of this Lilith became a little annoyed at not being able to actually see it with her own eyes.
“Hehe, it's fine, it wasn’t that amazing either way. However, I won't say I didn’t want you to see it too. So next time, I will show you how awesome I am!”
The group laughed and chatted for a while longer before going to sleep. Aurora wasn’t tired at all, on the contrary, she was still full of energy. Lilith on the other hand yawned once and it was lights out instantly. It was a given since she had been using Aurora’s thighs as a pillow while they talked. The calm and happy expression Lilith had made Aurora feel sleepy as well. Not long after she was out for the count as well.
In the same village a discussion was taking place. A rather large problem had apear and the villagers were troubled on what to do. The boar was too large for them to move around and processing it would be a nightmare. Through the night many villagers worked together to drain the thing’s blood as well as skinning it.
Normally, the spoils of battle would go to the adventurers. However, this time around it had been stated that the villager’s wanted to keep the boar. Because of this, the compensation for the mission was a tiny bit higher. Now, the villagers had to work hard to process the beast.
The night soon left and made way for the upcoming day. All the villagers looked exhausted with bags under their eyes. They weren’t used to allnighters but alas they made it. However, their ordeal wasn’t over. They still had to care for the crops and cattle on this brand new day. With a sigh they surrendered to their fate and began working once again.
“Zombies!”
That scream was heard from Lilith’s mouth. However, she came to realize she was wrong soon after. This quote on quote zombies were actually the villagers. The lazy Lilith had woken up late as per usual, around the middle of the day. The exhausted villagers were dragging their feet when walking and their pale complexions due to exhaustion made them look like the undead.
This had been the first time the villagers had been a bit greedy. After all, meat is rare for them, and such a large amount should last the whole village a day or two. However, as of now they deeply regretted their decision. All villagers took a decision in their hearts. They would never ask for something like that again without proper preparation.
“Sorry to scare you miss, it was a busy night last night”
“It’s alright, but you guys should take better care of yourselves”
An old looking zombie, or rather the zombie looking village chief approached the surprised group and spoke so. Aurora, being a gentle kid was actually quite worried about his and the other villager’s health. After all this mission was to help them out. What good would be saving them from the boar if they died due to exhaustion right after.
“We are alright, don’t worry about us. With a night of rest all of us will be back to normal. With that said let me thank you for your efforts. That thing had been destroying our crops for a week now. If this had continued for another week or two we would have trouble latter on winter”
“It was nothing really, just doing our job”
After this short exchange the village chief invited them to have dinner which admittedly was a bit plain yet tasty. Some of the meat from the boar was used as well making it a bit more fulfilling than what the villagers usually eat. Not long after they finished eating the group said their goodbyes and began their walk back towards Ninalun.
“They are good people aren’t they?”
“Yeah, let's hope they take care and have a bountiful harvest”
Satisfied smiles bloomed in the faces of everyone as they admired the landscape while walking back. Who knows what new adventures and perhaps troubles will fill their lives from now on. One thing is for sure though, this is only the beginning of their story.

Everyone is a Superhero! Apart from me
Welcome to Loktharma, where everybody is a superhero from birth. That makes Eugene De Lavet the most special of them all. At eighteen years old, he still has no clue what his superpower is. Loktharma has never been a fair world. There are Worldbreakers who were born to brandish the power of the universe, warp time-space, destroy lands and continents. There are Craftmasters who control the elements and terrorize countries with their might and wits. There are Commoners who are only gifted with power for the finer arts, architecture, military arts, or small-scale elemental manipulation. Even in an unjust world like Loktharma, there is always one constant: everyone is assigned a Flair since birth; the power to do something extraordinary. And then there's Eugene. He's been running around in a secluded forest since birth, training and sparring his ass off. While he can wield a blade better than most at his age, he certainly can't throw a giant boulder using the power of his mind, or turn his skin into diamonds. He has no Flair, no purpose for leveling up his stats, and no idea why General Rizeni Baggardo keeps him confined inside a forest for eighteen years. At least until Lord Pyro—the Craftmaster of Tailiah—unleashes his fury on the forest, searching for a treasure Eugene doesn't even know exists. On a frantic escape for his life, Eugene starts to realize he was a part of something he's been completely oblivious to until now. Along with his companions, Melodi and Azra, he travels the land and unveils the secrets of the world. [The story will be told primarily through the lenses of three main characters, with occasional side character POV chapters. It also draws inspiration from Japanese shounen. So only proceed if you're cool with these aspects.]
