《Ninth World: Prima Natus Vampire》18. Vampire's Wrath

The night was peaceful. The only sound that could be heard was the buzzing of insects from time to time. The two moons shone in the sky painting the surroundings and a soft hue of purple. The stars that formed the night sky made for a beautiful picture. However, the night was suddenly disturbed.
“Kyaa!”
Lilith woke up instantly. Her senses being far sharper than those of her family made it easy for her to keep guard even while asleep. That wasn’t it either, the voice of the scream was way too familiar for her to let it pass. Looking from side to side she realized Aurora was nowhere to be found.
“Damn it what happened”
In a slight panic Lilith climbed out of the tent. her rough movements woke up the rest of her family which quickly entered into a similar state as her. With swift movements Lilith dashed towards the source of the voice. It took less than a second to reach where Aurora was.
Aurora’s right arm sleeve was tainted red with blood at the shoulder where a claw had torn the cloth and cut into her arm. In front of her a bear like creature stood on its rear legs displaying its massive body. While standing, the monstar was five meters high.
Seeing Aurora bleed Lilith’s mind went red. The only thing she could think of was revenge at all costs. The surrounding temperature dropped by several degrees. A small layer of frost began forming over the grass near Lilith. However, above all else the most eye catching thing was Lilith herself. Her silver hair began changing to a black and crimson colour. From her body a red mist began dispersing to the surroundings.
The beast’s instincts warned it of the immense danger. Mia had never seen her beloved master display her anger in such a way. Silver, Shadow and Sapphire were frozen in place by the terror that held their hearts. Finally Aurora felt dread for what was to come.
In the next moment Lilith walked towards the beast leaving a path of frost behind. The red mist followed her twisting and turning as if impatiently waiting for orders. Finally Lilith stopped five meters away from the beast. She extended her hand facing her hand towards the bear like monster.
“For the sin that you have commited, I sentence you to death”
After those few words Lilith closed her palm. As if opening the doors of a floodgate the red mist rushed forward. The Beast turned around and tried to flee in horror to no avail. Soon enough the red mist caught and enveloped it. Pained roars could be heard from inside the cloud. From time to time a massive clawed paw could be seen swinging from the inside only to be devoured by the mist again.

It took ten seconds before no sound could be heard from inside the cloud of red mist. A second later the mist retracted from its victim and flouted back to Lilith. Where once a massive bear like beast had been now only a modified corps remained. The mist had absorbed all fluids from the monster. Now it was being absorbed back into Lilith.
“Aurora, are you okay?”
“Y-yes”
“I am glad”
With that short exchange Lilith’s hair went plack to its silver colour as she closed her eyes. The next moment her body went limp and fell to the ground. In panic Aurora rushed besides Lilith alongside everyone else. Thankfully, Lilith’s body seemed to be completely alright.
“Looks like she exhausted her mana with that attack”
Mia was right. Despite Lilith boasting a rather large mana pool for her age she had used too much of it too quickly. The exhaustion knocked her out on the spot. The anger she felt had overwhelmed her making her push her body to its limits. This resulted in overwhelming power at a rather high cost. To put it simply, she had wasted all that power ending with an overkill.
“This is my fault. I shouldn’t have left the tent in the middle of the night”
“About that, why did you leave?”
Aurora’s cheeks flushed a little at that moment. She recalled what she had been doing before she got attacked by the monster and couldn’t help feeling embarrassed.
“I-I… needed to pee”
That last part came out as a mutter that no normal human would be able to hear. However, Mia is a vampire, her senses are far more developed than a humans, not to mention she was an elf before. Elves boast of a good hearing only dwarfed by the hearing of some beast-kins.
“I see, well it can’t be helped that you had to leave. However, next time please be more careful. You are precious to my master. This is the first time I have ever seen her this angry. If something were to happen to you I fear what she might do”
Aurora couldn’t help but nod. She had indeed been too relaxed while doing her business. Her lack of experience had brought this upon herself and the others. However, since this was her first time outside the walls of a town there was no way for her to know better. In the end she couldn’t do anything else but learn from her mistakes.
“Miss Aurora, should I cast some healing magic for your wound? I am not that good with it but it should help”
At that moment Aurora realised her shoulder didn’t hurt. She quickly touched where the wound had been only to find it was completely gone. Now that she thought about it, when the beast’s claws had pierced her skin it didn’t hurt as much as she had expected.

“It 's healed?”
Those words of amazement escaped Aurora’s lips as she continued examining where the wound once had been. Her mind worked quickly to try and guess what had happened. She was still unused to the changes that had happened to her body. Because of this, it was hard for her to believe the wound had healed by itself in such a short amount of time.
What Aurora didn’t know was that the wound was shallow to begin with. Her body and skin was far tougher than that of a normal beast-kin. Now, under the moonlight, that toughness had been boosted. To begin with, her wound had only been skin deep, and her enhanced healing closed it soon after.
“Well, in that case let's go back and rest. But before that, I would like to suggest a change of clothes Miss Aurora”
“R-right, erm, Mia, could you drop the miss? it makes me feel alienated”
“No problem. Let's get you changed Aurora”
With that said, Mia picked up Lilith in a prince's carry. After walking back to where the tent was Mia gently laid Lilith inside as Silver and co cuddled her. Soon enough, Mia took out a change for Aurora after which she began washing and sewing the bloodied clothes.
“Go ahead and rest for the rest of the night Aurora. I will should finish this before dawn”
“T-thanks”
With that said she crawled back inside the tent and cuddled Lilith as well. The sleeping vampire suddenly moved hugging the wolf girl before shoving her face between her neck and shoulder. The sudden action caught Aurora by surprice as a tiny yelp escaped her. However, the surprise didn’t last long as she smiled and hugged Lilith back with a bright smile on her face.
“I love you”
The tiny unconscious murmure couldn’t be heard by anyone present as all of them had fallen asleep, completely exhausted due to the events of the night.
Back outside the tent. Mia was humming softly while working. Blood wasn’t easy to wash after it dried so she quickly made some water with magic and began cleaning the clothes. After that she took a bone needle and some thread and began fixing the three holes on the clothes.
It’s a given that Mia isn’t skillful enough to repair them in such a way that it wouldn’t be noticed. So instead she decided to make the three seams look like a decoration instead. After some effort, her job was done. The three lines of seams looked like a floral decoration made from grin and pink thread.
Not long after the sun began rising from the horizon. As the maid she claimed to be Mia began preparing breakfast for everyone. While doing so she thought back to her time with Lilith in the cave house. The reason she had decided to become a maid was an extremely simple one.
When she was a child she enjoyed helping her mother with housework. Back then she wasn’t all that helpful, clumsy and weak she was more of a hindrance than help. However, she still enjoyed it. As an adolescent she would constantly dream of marrying and becoming the perfect housewife.
Now she had met her master, someone she wanted to help with all of her heart. Because of this she decided to become Lilith’s perfect maid. Her liking housework and adoration for her master had fused into this career that seemed perfect for her. Being able to take care of Lilith like a mother while respecting her like a servant would her master. Mia couldn’t ask for anything else.
Well, that is why she is obsessed with becoming a maid for Lilith. On the other hand, Lilith didn’t care about it much. For her, as long as Mia stayed with her she was more than happy. At the beginning Lilith didn’t treat Mia as a servant at all. However, after Mia’s endless pestering about it Lilith gave in.
Going back to the sleeping Lilith she slowly opened her eyes. Drowsy from the effort she had gone last night she couldn’t help but enjoy the scent that tickled her nose. In front of her Aurora’s nape was exuding a tantalising aroma that tempted her constantly. Not fully awake, Lilith couldn't pay much attention to her actions as she softly licked Aurora's nape.
“Lilith?”
Aurora was suddenly woken by a strange pleasure she couldn’t explain. As her eyes opened she saw Lilith with her mouth open, tongue out and fangs extended. A slight blush painted Lilith’s white cheeks a shade of pink. Aurora was taken aback by the sight only to feel Lilith’s hands crawling below her shirt up her back.
At the next moment Lilith bit Aurora's neck softly. No blood came out, instead a soft moan left Aurora’s lips. Lilith was still half asleep, moving only by instinct at the moment. However, that soft and cute moan had finally made her realise what she was doing.
“So-Sorry!”
With movements quick as lightning Lilith separated from Aurora only to feel light headed. As she was about to fall Aurora held her. Their eyes met again at that moment and neither could look away. Finally, Aurora spoke first with a bright smile.
