Promise

Liu Feng reached the medicine shop and saw that it was repaired and looked like how it used to. As he entered he saw Lei Jun with his mother and father having dinner.

“Liu Feng where did you go for one month, I have been to your house but no one opened the door when I knocked.” Lei Jun said.

“I had some things I had to do, hello aunty and uncle,” Liu Feng said as he looked at Lei Jun’s father he had visible bruises on his face.

“Come Feng’er we are going to have dinner and then we will be going to the Bai family estate to pay back a bit of the ransom so that we will be able to get back Lei Min,” Lei Jun’s mother said with a joyful expression on her face.

When Liu Feng saw this his heart which was already in pain hurt even more.

“Yah my bother my dad managed to get 50 blue drams from somewhere and with this half-off the ransom will be paid off and we can get my sister back,” Lei Jun said with excitement as well.

“Lei Jun could I talk to you alone please,” Liu Feng said with a serious tone.

“Hmm you want to talk to me alone okay okay come let's go to my room, mom, dad give me 5mins I will talk to my brother for a while.”

As they both walked into Lei Jun’s room, Liu Feng closed the door behind them and looked at Lei Jun for awhile.

“Brother, I must ask did you disappear for a month because you were confused about your sexuality? If you did please don’t test it on me.” Lei Jun said as he used his hands to cover his chest.

Liu Feng looked at him and said as his voice trembled, “Lei Jun I am so sorry I could not save her on time”

*Thud*

Liu Feng went on this knees and kowtowed to Lei Jun

“Brother, what the f**k are you doing? Why are you bowing to me?” Lei Jun was shocked as he tried to pull Liu Feng up but what shocked him, even more, was that he could not even budge him.

“Brother remember how I promised you a month ago that I would save Lei Min, and today after a month I went to save her but I was too late...If only I had gone earlier.” Liu Feng said

“What do you mean I know that you promised me due to your anger I did not take it seriously and what do mean it is too late?” Lei Jun was still confused but deep in his heart anxiety was breeding.

Liu Feng took out the body of Lei Min from his ring which was still covered by white cloth.

“Wow is that an interspatial ring!!! Wait this is…what is this..?” Lei Jun stammered as he walked towards the cloth which covered the face and pulled it down.

“This is my sister? This is Lei Min? How can this be?” Tears started pouring from his eyes as he clutched his Lei Min’s body and cried.

When Liu Feng saw this as he was kneeling down his heart hurt, even more, he felt so much pain he could not even breathe properly he felt like dying himself seeing the brother who protected him who did not even cry when his father was beaten, cry for the first time.

“Liu Feng how come you have my sister with you? Isn’t she supposed to be in the Bai family?” Lei Jun asked as tears streamed down his eyes which were now bloodshot.

Liu Feng looked at him and explained to him how he broke into the Bai family’s estate and went into the prison and saw that Lei Min was on her last breath and he even told him what Lei Min’s last message was.

As Lei Jun was listening to all of these his face started to show more pain.

“I already took care of the Bai family the only person left alive is Bai Hu’s father who is the main culprit for Lei Min’s death.” Liu Feng said

Lei Jun stared at Liu Feng for a while and he looked back at his sister who now laid lifelessly in his room.

“Liu Feng you BASTARD!!! How dare you collude with the Bai Family and kill my sister!!! You expect me to believe a bastard like you who is trash managed to kill the Bai family? F**k you!!” Lei Jun screamed as he lunged towards Liu Feng and mounted on top of him and begun punching his face repeatedly.

Liu Feng did not resist at all and just took the blows as he felt that he deserved it. And he knew his brother was just angry and frustrated, and how was it possible that Liu Feng killed off the Bai family nobody would believe him.

Hearing the commotion Lei Jun’s mother and father came into the room and saw Lei Jun beating Liu Feng, but they soon saw the corpse of their daughter lying there. They rushed towards Lei Min’s body.

“My daughter why are you lying here? My daughter, please come back. Lei Min please I am begging you please come back to your mother, please. I still have not seen you married yet. I have not yet hold your grandkids. Lei Min!” Lei Jun’s mother cried out hold Lei Min’s body.

Lei Jun’s father just dropped to his knees and did not say anything. After a while, Lei Jun’s father pulled Lei Jun off from Liu Feng.

“Dad Mom he was the one who colluded with the Bai Family and killed sister, he came here and spouted lies saying he killed the Bai Family. I want him out of this house.”

Liu Feng looked at Lei Jun’s mother and father and they just sat beside Lei Min’s body and did not say anything.

They also wanted Liu Feng out of the house.

Liu Feng got off his knees and took out a purple dram which he got from the Bai family’s elder, and gave it to Lei Jun and said “I got this from the Bai family’s elder after I ki…”

“You trying to buy our silence with a purple dram even after all of this. Is my sister’s life only worth this much? I thought of you as my brother but I mistook you. From today onwards you are not my brother I Lei Jun don’t need someone like you!” Lei Jun screamed as he threw the purple dram at Liu Feng’s face.

The purple dram hit Liu Feng’s face as it dropped down to the floor, without saying anything he just walked out of the house.

As he walked back to his house he didn’t expect Lei Jun to react like this. “Now I really am an orphan.” Liu Feng muttered under his breath with blood dripping down his face.

When Liu Feng reached home he lay on his bed and thought about what happened.

“They did not even try to let me explain and anything I said in that situation would just escalate them further,” Liu Feng said out aloud.

“I am never making promises ever again, and since I am truly an orphan now I will keep it that way. I do not need brothers, friends, and love. I will climb to the top of cultivation just by myself.”

Liu Feng slept soundly until the next morning, for the past month he had been training continuously thus he had not slept properly.

When he woke up he organized his thoughts trying to put things about Lei Jun at the back of his mind and went to have a shower. After his shower, he took out Bai Li’s interspatial ring from under his bed. An interspatial ring could not be kept inside an interspatial ring as it would cause instability of space and would destroy both the interspatial ring. As he was fiddling with it the ring in his hand he felt as if his necklace was becoming hotter, when he looked down he saw red Qi emitting from his necklace.

“Whenever red Qi comes out from my necklace it means something good is about to happen, Arghhh!!! Another memory? That cannot be I just got a memory for this realm.”

Information started flowing through Liu Feng’s brain from the necklace.

“Not a memory but instead it is a technique? The ? I have only heard of martial skills and cultivation arts what is a technique?” Liu Feng thought.

He sat down in the lotus position and begun to analyze the technique. “This is an Armour forging technique from the Asura blacksmith clan.” Liu Feng said out loud with surprise. “My mother is an Asura and with these memories, I am getting I think my mother is from the Asura blacksmith clan.”

Using this technique I will be able to combine interspatial rings of the same kind with the same space together. “Let’s try this out,” Liu Feng said.

He then took out all the things from his interspatial ring and placed them in a corner of his room. Liu Feng then placed both the rings, side by side with his ring on his left, and Bai Li’s ring on the right. He then drew the sigils required for the technique around the two rings on the floor with a pencil. He then started transferring his Qi into the runic circle which is formed with all the sigils combined together. The runic circle glowed red and then Bai Li’s ring started turning into dust and proceeded to flow into Liu Feng’s ring.

This process lasted for 15 mins, once it was done the runic circle dimmed. Liu Feng then took his ring and inserted Qi into it, he was shocked to see that it now had a space of 1000cm3. It increased from 100 to 1000, this was an extremely huge increase.

“Wait I remember that a spatial ring with a 1000cm3 is a graded ring with a grade of F and can be bound to an owner, let me try binding it to me,” Liu Feng said has he transmitted more Qi into the ring.

After a while, he heard a chime from his dantian and he noticed that the ring was now in his dantian signifying that he had bonded with the ring. He took it out of his dantian and wore it, he saw that there was a small engraving of a cloud on the ring.

“Why does it have the same engraving of Kumo on it?” Liu Feng was puzzled. “ I should go to the library to learn more about the three great Arts. But first I will cultivate today and then I will head to the library tomorrow. I really want to go and test my current strength against the wild beasts in the middle area of the Wild Lands.” Liu Feng planned.

After cultivating he now had his dantian filled up to 40% he would be able to break into Qi condensation 5 in 2 more days.

He then proceeded to practice the eight ethereal strikes as well as to cultivate the cloak of the night as he was still at the middle stage and wanted to reach the late stage.

As Liu Feng was cultivating he did not know of the commotion happening in the whole west district, news of the extermination of the entire Bai family begun to spread. Nobody knew who did it but everyone was shocked for someone to be able to destroy an entire clan meant that the person must have been strong and also must have had a deep hatred for that clan.

Soon news of the Bai clan’s demise reached the medicine shop of Lei Jun’s father, they were all preparing for the funeral of Lei Min. Lei Jun stood there shocked as he realized that Liu Feng told him that he had indeed killed the Bai clan but could not find Bai Hu’s father.

“Was I in the wrong?” Lei Jun muttered as he was helping his mother with the funeral preparations.

“Dammit, dammit who killed the entire Bai Clan my father, and my son as well. What was their motive? Do they know I am alive? Are they after me as well? I shall hide here in the middle areas of the wildlands hopefully whoever killed the Bai clan will not find me here.” Bai Hu’s father said as he was running through the forest.
