Monday Morning, as usual, he finished his cultivation now with 70% of his dantian filled he would be able to breakthrough to Qi gathering 3 tomorrow and would be eligible for the scholarship. He decided that he would skip school today as he wanted to go out into the wildlands to hunt wild beast so that he could accumulate money as fast as possible to be able to buy the staff.

Liu Feng headed to the west gate to enter the wildlands, and as usual, he had to go through the process again of being scanned for his cultivation level so that he will be allowed to go through.

He exited the stronghold he decided to hunt savage rabbits first but this time since he was alone he could not use the lure and tackle tactic instead he had to face a savage rabbit head-on.

As he roamed about the outer areas of the wildlands he came across a savage rabbit with a cultivation of Qi gathering 1 he approached it cautiously and as soon as the rabbit spotted him he charged up to the rabbit and started off with a straight left punch and then a right kick to maintain a distance so that the rabbit could attack him and not the other way around and during the first two attacks he directed his Qi to his right fist and did the first strike of the eight ethereal strikes.

As soon as the strike connected with the rabbit it flew back and was lying still without any movement Liu Feng cautiously walked up to the savage rabbit and he was shocked to find out that the rabbit had died but there was no visible damage on the rabbit. He then proceeded to skin the rabbit and was shocked to find out that the internal organs of the savage rabbit had ruptured thus causing its death.

“That strike has an insane amount of force being able to rupture the internal organs of a savage rabbit but sadly it drains quite and amount of my Qi using 5% of it” Liu Feng analyzed in his head.

After skinning the rabbit he than proceeded to hunt more savage rabbits after hunting for almost an entire day taking time to meditate to replenish his Qi he had gotten 20 pelts from savage rabbits, and without knowing he had reached the border of the outer area and the middle area of the savage lands.

He looked around to see where he was he could see a clear divide between the density of Qi between the outer area and the middle area out of curiosity he went into the middle area and meditated to replenish his Qi and to his amazement, his Qi replenished 2x faster than in the outer area of the wildlands.

After replenishing his Qi he decided to leave the middle area and go back to the stronghold as the Wild Beast here would be in the realm of Qi condensation one full realm above him. But just as he was about to leave he heard sounds of combat and people shouting deeper in the middle area.

“To check it out and not to check it out” Liu Feng was contemplating with himself. He was not stupid to overestimate his capabilities as there would be Qi condensation beasts deeper inside and the people fighting inside would also definitely be at the Qi condensation realm and him with a measly Qi gathering 2 will definitely be killed if he was caught by either of them.

As he was walking out of the middle area quietly he was thinking “if I have to buy the staff it would require me to kill 1000 savage rabbits as 2 pelts go for 1 white dram, that would be a lot of work for a long period but it would be safe, but if I go and check out the commotion there might be some rewards to reap allowing me to buy the staff faster” he forced his fear and the thoughts of dying down and turned around and quietly approached the sounds of combat and shouting.

When he finally found the scene there were four cultivators 3 males and 1 female at the stage of Qi condensation 1 fighting a jet black ox which had a cultivation of Qi condensation 2.

Liu Feng remembered learning about this wild beast in school it was called a Dark Ox and was very aggressive and was known for its exceptional defense.

Neither the cultivators nor the Dark Ox notice Liu Feng hiding in the trees since they had all their attention in combat. Liu Feng was able to determine what realm they were at since they were in combat and their Qi was fluctuating visibly, he carefully assessed the scene and realized that the female cultivator wearing a white dress was injured badly which dyed the dress red and her Qi was almost depleted.

One of the male cultivators who was wearing a uniform which Liu Feng did not recognize had a giant hole in his stomach having been pierced by the Ox on the verge of death, he then saw that the other male cultivator who was wearing the same uniform who looked the same as the cultivator with the whole in his stomach gets his head crushed under the hooves of the Dark Ox they were most likely twins.

“Nooooo my brother you damn beast how dare you!!!” Screamed the cultivator with the hole in his stomach as he charged towards the beast.

“No Min Chu control yourself” the remaining male cultivator who was wearing a purple robe screamed.

Liu Feng who witnessed the twin with the hole in his stomach get his head bitten off by the Dark Ox, could not bear to see the amount of violence being displayed he almost threw up but controlled himself if he revealed himself he would definitely die immediately.

He watched on as the cultivator in the purple robe fought on with the Dark Ox he used his sword and stabbed into the eye of the Ox but the Ox flung him across as he smashed into a boulder. And immediately the Ox started charging towards the female cultivator and crushed her into a tree with her screams immediately stopping.

Liu Feng felt guilty in his heart as he could not do anything and had to watch people die even though he did not know them he still felt guilt as they were human beings too.

The last remaining cultivator was enraged, “Dammit dammit everyone is dead now either you die or I die” as he brandished his sword and used a sword martial skill which made a purple beam of light shoot out from the sword which pierced through the other eye of the Dark Ox.

He then sliced off one of the front legs of the Ox with his sword which still had a purple light emitting from it but he failed to see the horn of the Ox coming towards him as he was blinded by rage.

*Puchi*

“Arghh f**k cough cough”

The cultivator in the purple robe at his heart pierced by the Ox as he collapsed on to the ground with his last breath leaving him.

Liu Feng waited as he saw that the Ox was limping away deeper into the middle area, as soon as the Dark Ox left he immediately went up to the massacre and started looting the bodies of the 4 cultivators he first went up to the twins and found that they had pouches on them with 10 green drams inside each of the pouch he took the 20 green drams and kept it inside his pouch and left everything else.

He immediately went to the female cultivator and checked her pouch she only had 5 green drams inside her pouch he looted that as well.

And he went to the last cultivator, he had to hurry as he could already hear the Wild beasts rushing here due to the scent of the blood. He searched for the pouch on the cultivator with the purple robe but he could not find any pouch on him, which surprised Liu Feng.

But he instantly saw a ring on the dead cultivator’s finger it was no ordinary ring but was an interspatial ring he immediately took it and the sword of the cultivator and rushed away from the scene deeper into the middle areas as he could not run out as wild beasts were approaching from the way he was supposed to exit.

He kept running further and further and came across a small cave, he first threw a small rock into the cave to check if anything was living inside and waited for a while before he crawled into the cave. Once confirming that there was nothing inside he exited the cave to find a boulder that could seal the cave entrance.

He sealed the cave with a boulder he found after going into the cave, once inside he finally had time to catch his breath.

“Whew, I was f**king lucky I did not come across any wild beast on the way here if not I would have most definitely not seen the light of day” As he took out the interspatial ring from his pocket.

There were two types of interspatial ring, the ones which are bonded to an owner and the ones which are not bonded to an owner. This was definitely not a bonded ring as if the owner dies a bonded ring would turn to dust. Liu Feng poured his Qi into the ring and he was able to see inside the storage space of the ring which was 100cm3.

There was one blue dram inside with several beast pelts inside as well, Liu Feng almost screamed for Joy he immediately stopped himself as soon as he realized he was in the middle area of the Wild Lands.

So he managed to loot 25 green drams and 1 blue dram though the money was not earned in the right way money was still money. While looking at the coins of blue and green in his hands Liu Feng decided that he would do whatever it takes to further himself on the journey of cultivation even if it is not morally correct.

As someone without a family to rely on he only had himself thus he had to throw away his moral compass. No-one would sympathize with him and give him resources just because he was an orphan, he had to take things for himself.

He then kept all his loot into the interspatial ring and wore it Liu Feng was happy that he was able to get an interspatial ring as well since an interspatial ring of his size would go for 1 purple dram which was equal to 100 blue dram which was equal to 10000 green drams and 1000000 white drams.

With the interspatial ring, it would lessen his burden of having to carry all that he hunts and he would even be able to sell the whole body of the wild beast instead of having to skin the wild beast and sell only the skin.

He then proceeded to inspect the sword and realized that it was a normal weapon and not a graded weapon.

Weapons can be graded using the ranks of F, E, D, C, B, A, AA, AAA, S, SS, SSS.

Liu Feng himself has only seen graded weapons till E grade being sold online for 1 purple dram which was the prize of the interspatial ring he currently has and an F grade weapon sells for 1 blue dram. Which he was currently planning on buying since he has 1 blue dram.

After keeping the sword into his ring he noticed through the gaps between the boulder which sealed the entrance of the cave he realized it was night time already, and traveling through the Wild Lands at night was extremely dangerous so he decided to travel tomorrow morning and hole up in the cave for now.

Waking up to the light rays coming through the gaps, Liu Feng woke up groggily and examined the surroundings outside his cave through the gaps.

Determining that the surroundings were safe he decided to break through into Qi gathering 3 now. As he sat in a lotus position in the cramped cave he circulated the basic military Qi gathering art.

70%….80%….90%…100% “whew, finally I am eligible to apply for the scholarship with my Qi gathering 3 cultivation,” Liu Feng said ecstatically.

He now had to make his way out of the middle area and back to the outer area and then back to the stronghold.
