Chapter 29
**************Tessa POV***************
We have began the assault on the outer walls of Gart, but we are losing. Jack has created some new type of zombie creatures. It's twice the height of a normal man and has bulging muscles. The skin on it is dying and chipping off.
They also have cannons along the top of the outer walls. Everyone was surprised to see them since we thought only the elves had this technology. Our army was being defeated.
Lamruil and I were talking near the rear of the army watching as the soldiers died.
Lamruil:"We need to retreat. They have defeated us."
Tessa:"Your right. This war has failed."
We called a soldier over to issue retreat orders, but his body was cut in two before he made it to us.
Lamruil:"How did the enemy already get this far!"
We couldn't see what was doing it, but something was jumping around tearing the soldiers limbs off. Blood was spraying into the air and covering the monster.
Lamruil:"What the hell!"
A girl was standing in front of us. She was covered in blood and had white hair. While she was standing there two more just like her appeared and killed many soldiers.
Lamruil:"What are you!"
Jenny:"We're here for Tessa and her friends if you try to stop us everyone will die."
Tessa:"Are you more of Jacks monsters!"
The one that had previously been talking disappeared then I was sent flying.
Jenny:"How dare you think we work for him!"
I had used a magic barrier so I took little damage, but that would have killed me if I didn't react fast enough. I used telepathy to contact Cal, Fraya and Jeanette since I knew these girls were powerful.
*If there not with Jack I can only guess they have some connection to the Demon King.*
The only person I had ever seen with white hair was the demon king so I assumed they had a connection.
*Maybe it was Laya.*
The three of them attacked me at the same time. I knew I wouldn't be able to beat that speed and power so I created a barrier around myself.
*Once the others get here we'll be able to beat them.*
I knew my healing ability was good, but I didn't want to rely on it. The girls made it to us in a few minutes and a battle began. Cal took on the girl that talked while Jeanette and Fraya fought the other two.
I knew how to fight hand to hand, but the other three were better than me so I stayed in the supporting role. I would assist in attack the three girls. I also had to keep enemy soldiers and zombies from interfering.

Cal had cut off the girls limbs many times, but she just grabbed them and they reattached. She did seem to be protecting her heart so Cal focused her attacks on piercing it. Fraya filled the one she was fight with holes, but she had a hard time keeping up with the girls speed.
Jeanette fought with spiked gauntlets which tour the skin of her enemies. The healing ability these girls had was stronger than the ones we had. It rivaled Falons which had only one weakness.
Tessa:"They might have a crystal on their chest like Falon! Tearing it out will kill them!"
Maybe they weren't protecting their hearts, but the crystal instead. Even if the heart is damaged as long as the crystal is in their bodies it will regenerate.
They all took my advice and started trying to destroy the chest plates that the three were wearing. The three girls had to go on the defensive and it looked like I was right.
*Does that mean Laya is here.*
I suddenly felt a pain in my stomach and when I looked down a sword was sticking through. The blade had my blood on it, but I could see it was that color anyway. I watched as the sword started to retract and blood poured out of the wound.
Tessa:"Aaaaahhhhhh!!"
I fell to my knees and waited for the pain to subside and my healing ability to begin, but it didn't stop hurting. I could still see blood pooling around me as it gushed out of the wound.
Laya:"It's not going to heal. You didn't think I would show up unprepared did you. I came to kill you after all."
**************Willow POV**************
We were close to the battlefield I could smell the blood in the air. Ruby could sense that the attack on Gart had began so she was rushing. I let her run ahead until we could no longer see each other. I stopped walking and looked to the sky.
I used gravity magic to fly into the air and got a look at the battlefield. I could tell the elves were losing and some sort of creatures were killing most of them. The enemy soldiers seemed to keep a distance between them and the monsters.
I felt magical power being generated from the royal palace and linking up with each creature. The power seemed corrupted and evil. I forcefully cut the connection and the creatures all stopped moving. The battle seemed to stop for a minute while each side tried to figure out what was happening.
*Looks like they can't do anything with out that magical power.*
The elves eventually started slaying all of the monsters that were just standing around. I then focused on destroying the cannons the enemies had.

*The cannons kind of destroy the fantasy setting.*
I felt a little sad that I got sent to a world where gunpowder already existed. I was hoping to be the one who invented it. I scanned the battlefield and found that Ruby had finally made it.
She had cut right through enemy soldiers and was headed towards the back of the army. I assumed she was going to meet up with her superiors. I noticed a skirmish in the back between eight people.
In one group three had white hair and one had black. I could tell she was a succubus, but I wasn't sure what the white haired ones were. The other group has three humans and a elf girl. I was immediately interested in the elf girl since I could see she had blonde hair.
The elf girl was on the ground and bleeding while the succubus stood over her with a crimson blade and armor. I used gravity magic to force the succubus and her white haired friends onto the ground. They couldn't stand up under all the weight I had put on them.
The humans were surprised and looked around for who was doing it, but they noticed the elf girl on the ground and went to help her. I was to far away for them to see me so I stayed there and watched. The elf girl tried multiple healing spells, but the wound wouldn't close.
I was about to help her when she suddenly burned her wound. The bleeding had stopped, but it was so painful that she passed out. I was very interested in this elf girl so I decided that I would try to finish up the current battle.
I was still holding the four girls with gravity magic, but it prevented anyone but me from getting close to them. The human girls seemed to want to finish them off, but when the gravity pushed them away they gave up.
Ruby had finally made it to them and asked about what was happening. I didn't have time to listen in on their conversation because I turned my attention to the enemy army. The elves had started to gain ground now that the monsters and enemy cannons were gone.
I sent multiple enemy soldiers flying into one another. They bounced around like pinballs. The elf soldiers were stunned to see the enemy start flying all over the place. I tried to see how many I could bounce one off of before he died, but none of them lasted very long so I tried using a whole bunch of human pinballs at the same time. I ended up killing them all pretty fast.
The current battle was a victory for the elves now so I descended close by and walked to the elven camp. I didn't feel like being interrogated by every soldier so I went completely invisible by reflecting light around me. I entered the tent Ruby and her friends went in with the elf girl.
Ruby:"Why didn't the wound heal!"
Cal:"I don't know it wouldn't even fix after multiple healing spells."
Ruby:"That bitch! I thought she died with the demon king!"
I undid my invisibility and stood there. They noticed me immediately and the girl with brown and red hair placed both her swords on my neck while the one with brown hair and glasses pointed guns at me. The blue haired one put up her fists and stood in front of the elf girl.
Ruby:"Wait he's on our si.."
Cal:"Who are you!"
Willow:"I was sent here to aid the elves in there attack on Gart."
Ruby:"He's Black Death the guy I was sent to guide so move your swords away from his throat."
The dual girl removed her swords and sheathed them the brown haired one holstered her guns.
Ruby:"Sorry about that. Everyone this is Willow he's here to help. Willow this is Cal, Fraya, Jeanette and the injured girl is Tessa."
Ruby pointed each of them out to me and told me their names.
*So the elfs name is Tessa.*
Willow:"It's nice to meet you lovely ladies. I was wondering what I should do with women who attacked you. It will get tiring to keep them contained forever."
Cal:"That was you who stopped them?"
Willow:"Yes and the current battle has come to an end."
Cal:"That's impossible we were losing."
Willow:"I turned the tides of this battle in our favor."
Cal:"Ruby, Fraya, Jeanette take care of Tessa I'm going to see what's happening."
Cal left the tent and I walked towards Tessa.
Ruby:"What are you doing?"
I pressed my had onto her wound and used my mana to scan it. There was a curse that prevented her from healing so I destroyed it. The scar was still there so I repaired her skin. She now looked to be sleeping peacefully.
Jeanette:"That was incredible! I've never seen a healer better than mom! She couldn't even heal her wound herself, but you did it easily."
Willow:"She's your mother? You don't look like an elf?"
Fraya:"She like an adoptive mother."
Willow:"I see. Sorry for saying that."
Jeanette:"It's fine. Thank you for healing her."
Willow:"Your welcome young lady."
She giggled then smiled. I thought she seemed kind of childish. Cal entered the tent and looked at me.
Cal:"Lamruil wants to see you."
Willow:"Who's that?"
Cal:"The leader of this army."
Willow:"Oh then lead me to him."
Cal:"Follow me."Back to Main Page

Megacorporations accrue enormous power by linking together nations turned insular in the aftermath of yesterday's global multilateralism; a reinvigorated United Nations threatens the crumbling sovereignty of state by enforcing human rights independently of member nations, and the UN and others patrol for mass destruction technologies in the ever-accelerating, ever-democratizing arms race. Another environmental collapse looms, visions of the last haunting memories and consciences of the lower and middle classes around the globe. That is the reality that virtual child Colton is rehabilitated into. A system shock, a brave new world and above all a regurgitation. Rescued from being a tool in cyberspace and grown a new body, Colton couldn't care less about the new meatspace world.
