Chapter 12

I opened my eyes and looked around. I was shackled to the floor in what looked like a dungeon.

*I didn't know we had a dungeon at Vaneth Academy.*

Across from me was a table with Tessa lying on it unconscious. Her arms and legs were strapped down.

Falon:"Hey Tessa wake up!"

She didn't move which frightened me until I noticed her chest was still moving.

*Good. She's still breathing.*

I looked around and saw a magic circle with the table Tessa was on in the center. It looked like it was made with blood which I new that it was. There was a table in the corner of the room with my guns, satchel and glasses on it.

*I guess they didn't realize that those are weapons.*

I tried to create wind blades to cut my chains but I felt like I was all out of mana. My body felt sluggish but it was how I lived every day in the other world so it wasn't hard to adjust. All I could do was wait so I took a nap, but sleeping while chained up isn't easy. I finally fell asleep after 40 minutes, but the door flew open a minute later.

Laya:"Hey! Time to wake up!"

She had that evil grin on her face which this time pissed me off.

Falon:"Shut the fuck up I finally fell asleep then you came in here screaming!"

Laya:"I'm sorry. Let me make it up to you."

She walked over to me, leaned in close to my face and stabbed me in the gut.

Falon:"Aaahhhh! That hurt you bitch."

Laya:"Hahahahaha! You thought I was gonna kiss you didn't you! Hahahahah!"

She pulled the blade out and the pain started to lessen. I looked down at my wound and it was closing up.

Falon:"Are you healing me?"

Laya:"No. That crystal in you chest increases your natural healing."

Falon:"What else does it do."

Laya:"It steals away all your mana and sends it to your original body. Since the two of you posses the exact same mana he can manipulate it, but so can you. I had to install that crystal to keep you from ever being able to use magic again, also your body is going to keep producing mana, but it will immediately be sent to Lord Keltor."

Falon:"Is he using my name."

Laya:"No he's using his name. You lost it eleven years ago... Falon."

Falon:"Your right Keltor died eleven years ago and I'm gonna make sure he stays that way."

I glared at her.

Laya:"You can't do anything now. You don't have your magic anymore."

Falon:"I don't need magic to kill a fake like him."

Her face contorted into one of anger and clenched her fists then stabbed me in the gut a few times. Blood started to pour out of my mouth.

*Damn! She stabbed me in my lungs!"

Laya:"How dare you call him a fake! Your the fake! He is the true Keltor! Your nothing but a battery for him! I'm going to make you suffer! I need to keep you alive, but the condition your in doesn't matter as long as you can produce mana!"

After she calmed down and stopped stabbing me, my wounds started to heal up and lungs started working normally.

Falon:"What are you going to do to Tessa?"

Her face returned to the wicked grin.

Laya:"Kill her. We've already finished what we needed to do."

Falon:"What was it that you needed to do."

Laya:"I sent the annoying soul in me into her. Once the two of them completely bond together, I will kill her and I'll be the only one who can use blood magic."

Falon:"So if she dies I will never be able to fix my soul?"

Laya:"Yup. Your gonna be our prisoner until the day you die which won't be anytime soon. Your new healing ability will keep you from dieing if you decide to bite your tongue off. Hahahahah! I'm gonna love torturing you for the next few years. Well I have to go now. I need to help with the attack on the capital."

She placed one hand on her smiling face and the other between her legs.

Laya:"My husband will be arriving soon.*giggle* *giggle*"

I watched as she left the room.

*So he's coming here and attacking the capital. Haha Laya gave me everything I needed.*

She told me their plans and moved her good soul over to someone who can help me put mine back together. I new I had to escape soon since I had no idea how long it would take for Tessa's soul to bind to Laya's good soul.

I was glad I had that new healing ability because I was about to need it. I rubbed my hands against the inside of the shackles until they started to bleed. After a large amount of blood covered my right shackle I broke my thumb and pulled my hand out using the blood as lubrication. I then did the same thing for my left hand.

I had to snap my ankles to get my legs out.

They all healed pretty fast and I was able to stand up and walk over to my satchel where I pulled out a new set of clothes and boots to wear. I placed my guns on my hips and my glasses on my face then threw my satchel over my shoulder.

I walked up to Tessa, broke the straps and tried to wake her up again by placing my hands on her shoulders and lightly shaking her. Her eyes started to open and tears started to appear in her eyes when she saw me.

Tessa:"Falon!"

She hugged me tightly and I placed my arms around her.

Falon:"It's ok. We have to get out of here."

Tessa:"It hurt so much*sniff*I felt all my bones breaking over and over again.*sniff*"

Falon:"I won't let that happen again."

She released me from the hug and looked up at me while clearing away her tears.

Tessa:"The headmaster is working with the Demon King and Laya is too."

*My brother! That bastard! How could he turn against the humans!*

I was about to say something when I noticed she wasn't looking me in the eyes instead she was looking at my hair.

Falon:"Is something wrong with my hair?"

Tessa:"It's.............brown."

Falon:"I guess that's because of this."

I lifted up my shirt and showed her the blood red crystal embedded in my chest.

Tessa:"I know what this is."

Falon:"You do?"

Tessa:"I don't know how I know but I know it transfers mana to an outside source. It shouldn't work unless what it's transferring your mana to has mana on the same wavelength."

Falon:"Well...his mana is on the exact same wavelength."

Tessa:"That's not possible everyone's mana is a little different."

Falon:"I'll explain later, but right now we need to get out of here."

She agreed and I helped her off the table we walked over to the door, but I was stopped by Tessa before we left.

Tessa:"Wait."

She said meekly.

When I turned around she jumped up wrapping her arms around my head and pulled me into a deep kiss. I was surprised at first, but then started to kiss her back. We broke apart after a little time passed and I could see she was blushing.

Tessa:"T-that's incase s-s-something happens."

I grabbed her hand and smiled at her.

Falon:"I won't let anything happen."

She smiled back at me still blushing and we left through the door. After we had gone through three doors, we came to a room with a knight sitting in a chair. He looked about 15 and not very skilled.

Knight:"D-don't move."

He pulled his sword out and started walking towards us. I released Tessa's hand and stood in front of her then raised my hands into the air.

The knight walked up to me with his sword pointed at my head. I stepped in close were he could no longer swing his sword and brought my right elbow down into his shoulder and heard a crack. I then swung the same elbow into the side of his face causing him to smack his head into the wall. He was knocked out.

Tessa:"Did you kill him?"

Falon:"I don't think so, but he might not be able to be a knight now since I broke his shoulder."

She looked like she felt bad for the knight so I took out some hand cuffs from my satchel and put them on him. I let her heal his shoulder.

After a few more doors and four sets of stairs, we finally made it out. We were close to the temporary housing. The entrance was a shed that seemed run down.

The ground around all the buildings had been destroyed from magic attacks.

Tessa:"What happened!"

Falon:"The Demon King is attacking the capital."

Tessa looked up at me.

Tessa:"Is he here!?"

Falon:"I don't know, but he will be."

Tessa:"We have to go find Ruby!"

Falon:"Lets head to the peace keepers office."

The two of us started running to the building used for student offices. We passed a couple skirmishes on the way, but we didn't know any of them so we ignored it.

*I hope Cal and Fraya are alright.*

When we reached the building there was a large group of students in front of it. They all seemed to be fighting something. I saw Ruby to the far side of the crowd with Fray behind her fighting off multiple attackers. Cal was on the opposite side fighting Stef, but his hair wasn't totally blue anymore he had blonde streaks in it.

Both Cal and Ruby looked worn down while Fraya was the only one not since she wasn't fighting. Stef was staying at a distance throwing fire balls at Cal while she was was just cutting right through them. Stef looked very energetic and was smiling. Ruby had a bunch of cuts all over her body.

Falon:"We're going to help Ruby and Fraya first, she needs healing. Are you up for it."

Tessa clenched her fists and looked me in the eyes.

Tessa:"Yes!"

Falon:"Then stay behind me."

I pulled both of my guns out and pointed the Smith & Wesson into the air then fired it.

BAAAANG!!!!

The noise was so loud that everyone turned to look at me.

Falon:"Anyone who attacks those girls will die!"

They all looked at me for a minute then noticed my brown hair and started to charge at me. I blew off a couple heads before they started to notice I wasn't quite normal. Some of them started running away while others kept rushing at me. Only one made it all the way up to me. He thrust at me with his sword and I side stepped then hit his wrist with the butt of my gun making him drop his sword. I then smacked him in the back of the head with my other gun and he was knocked out.

The others all ran off and only Tessa, Ruby, Fraya, Cal, Stef, the unconscious guy and me were left.

Falon:"Go heal Ruby."

Tessa ran over to Ruby and started healing her, but she was just staring at me. I turned to Cal and Stef. Their battle had stopped while I killed all those people attacking Ruby and Fraya.

Falon:"Why did you join the demons Stef!"

He had a look of astonishment on his face.

Stef:"How.........your not suppose to be able to use magic."

Falon:"It's not magic. It's science."

I pointed my gun towards Stef and pulled the trigger. The bullet hit him right in the head and it exploded. I looked around and saw all the blood everywhere which made me feel a little sick.

*Maybe these bullets are a little to much to use against a human.*

I walked over to Cal and reached my hand out to help her up and when she took it her eyes widened and she looked me in the eyes.

Cal:"Big brother!?"
