《Romance of the Three Beasts》12.2 - Wolf's Thoughts
Advertisement
Wolf awoke in the morning. He glanced over to see Tiger off in thought. This was a rare sight indeed, Tiger thinking? What a terrifying thought. Tiger was enough of a handful without him thinking, if he actually started to think, Wolf might have more than he can handle.
“Morning.” He called to Tiger, starting to stand up and then stretch as the warmth of the sun began to wash over him.
“Morning.” Tiger replied, more quietly than he had ever before. He was still shook with how close they had lost Dragon, and so was Wolf.
Wolf made his way to the nearby river to wash up, deep in thought himself. The memory of the fight flashed through his mind. Even with the third gate, his opponent was able to clash with him. Wolf had taken the initiative and had continued his assault. Though within the twelfth strike, the large man had managed to draw the assault to a halt. Then the technique that had followed caused Wolf to fly back against a tree.
The Ro the man held was a large amount. If Wolf had been at his best… no, not even then could he have beaten them. Wolf washed his face and stared down at his reflection. His face was still stern, the natural glare within his eyes stared back at him. He reached down and felt the water trickling through his fingers.
‘I’ve been in the martial world this entire time… Tiger and Dragon are relying on me…’ His lips pulled downwards for once. He clenched his fist into the water. ‘We need to head to the springs.’
Wolf stood up, staring down at the river still. Once his eyes held a steely resolve, he turned.
Dragon was finally up, clutching at his side. Wolf could smell blood emanating from Dragon, but could see that the blood had stopped long ago.

“Are you well?” Wolf asked. He took Dragon’s silence as an affirmation.
“We need to head to the springs.” Wolf said, glancing between the pair.
“The springs?” Tiger asked from behind. Tiger’s mouth opened to speak, but he spent a moment to think and shut his mouth. He looked off into the distance.
Dragon remained silent as well.
Then Tiger spoke up. “Yeah, sounds like a plan to me.”
The three of them continued to travel through the land with the day passing by uneventfully. At one rest stop, Tiger left for a moment and Wolf went to check on Dragon. He checked Dragon’s wounds and then went to go check on Tiger.
He walked over to find Tiger punching various trees. Wolf could see the frustration within those fists of his. Wolf waited until Tiger finally had enough of his task. Tiger was panting when he stopped, his knuckles trickling with hot, wet blood.
Wolf called out. “You’re angry.”
“You could tell?” Tiger chuckled, though it wasn’t a playful chuckle like normal. This chuckle held something within it that Wolf hadn’t heard from Tiger in so long.
Wolf paused for a moment. “Do you think it’s your fault?” There was an awkward silence between them for a moment.
Tiger didn’t meet Wolf’s eyes when he spoke. “Of course it’s my fault. I wasn’t strong enough.”
“I’m not talking about Dragon.”
“Me neither.” Tiger whispered.
Wolf bowed his head. ‘Even now…’ They hadn’t spoken about it since they met each other. It was something that haunted Tiger to this day, that much was evident. It was part of the reason why Tiger retired from the martial world. That… and the death of his master.
“Wolf…” Tiger turned to face him finally, meeting Wolf’s eyes. “What do I do?”

Wolf looked deep within Tiger’s eyes. They were looking at him for guidance, Tiger had always looked to him for help, but this time… Did Wolf even know the answer? Wolf clenched his fists. ‘Tiger…’ What was he to say?
“Once we head to the springs…” Wolf then turned. He needed to think about the statement for a little longer.
Wolf returned to see Dragon had fallen asleep. The pair were nearby in case anything were to happen. This time, nothing would be able to sneak up on them. Wolf leaned against the tree and waited, letting Tiger stew in his thoughts.

Nano Machine
Until the time of him becoming the master of the lowest rank in the order of rankings, the lonely side of his life without luck was changed. One day suddenly, a future descendant injected him with a nano machine, and the machine started ‘speaking’ to him. [I am seventh generation Nano Machine manufactured by the Sky Cooperation, and I am operating as central nerve connected to your brain.] “What? What are you talking about?” This was beyond the boy’s knowledge, so he turned pale and asked. The Nano Machine linked to his cerebrum realized the User was not understanding a single word it said. “Who are you, and why are you doing this to me?” [“I am seventh generation Nano Machine.] “Nano Mashin?” [Yes, Nano Machine.] The boy’s face got hardened. Mashin was deity the Mashin Religion worshipped, along with the Sacred Fire. The Master of the Mashin Religion’s role was to communicate with Mashin. “Um, are you really Mashin?” The boy knelt down and asked with trembling voice. At this, the Nano Machine attached to his cerebrum realized he had misunderstood it.

World Wonderer
Mari was happily whisking up some butterscotch slice when our story suddenly whisks her into another world. You'd think it'd be the beginning of another classic Isekai adventure, but it soon becomes clear that things won't be so easy...Her nerdy-teenage-genius summoner has trapped her in his room, no one speaks English, and Mari's gut is NOT prepared for a whole new world of bacteria. Can Mari overcome the travel diarrhea, learn a whole new language and escape before she develops Stockholm syndrome? Most of all, can she learn to flourish in a world so different, yet so similar to her own? ****** Author note: This story is written in response to all the unrealistic, plot-armour Isekais out there. I believe that adventures are more fun when there are unexpected surprises and challenges to be had. That said, this is my virgin voyage into writing an ongoing fiction, so please take care of me @[email protected] Constructive critisms, suggestions and typos in the comments would be most appreciated! Respectfully, Mhm

GameWorld: Earth's Apocalypse
Be careful what you wish for. The old saying holds true for many people, but none more so than Jaxson Stratford. An avid video game player and reader of post-apocalypse novels, Jax always wished for the chance to attain power and abilities like the heroes of the stories he read about. Then, he received his wish in the form of The System’s arrival. However the truth of reality in this new System dominated world, is something far worse than he could ever imagine. This story is similiar to many others on the site, but the 'System' is something I've thought about for some time. That being said, it is still being fleshed out, so don't expect the story to be amazing, but rather an entertaining read.

Branded
From the second Eluc awoke in this world, he was filled with questions. Why can he not remember his past, what is this White Room, and where the hell should he go? Leaving these unanswered, he could only traverse this world based on his instincts alone. However, Eluc still had one lead: the Brand upon his wrists. Author's Thoughts: I want to return to this story one day, perhaps in a re-write. Ended up writing an entire other novel and now might have the confidence to undertake this to write another story. To anyone even reading this, sorry for the hiatus but thank you for reading this attempt at a story. Beautiful cover image edited from a picture by JR Korpa

A young Transmutator, the now only member of the family line, thinks he has what is needed to become a hero and break the stereotype people have of the Transmutators. Reborn into the RWBY World with a Small Cheat
This is my first story so please don't be mean (I don't mind critisism but some people are mean just to be mean). Also I want to make this interactive with readers (so I know people are reading) so please give me some feedback. The mc, a guy named Finn Pherb, just died geting run over by a truck (like nearly every other reincarnator). He thought his life was over, but it was just beginning. He gets reborn into the world of RWBY that's the same but different (in other words I'm ignoring the show so I can write a story that isn't to depressing) and with a little cheat.
