Chapter 33

"We're in Obserdine now, only an estimated twenty hours to the Holy Sword."

"We have a choice to make," Toyle said, looking behind him at the people in the wagons. "We can continue to the Holy Sword now, or we can rest here for the day. Which one will it be?" I kinda hope it will be stay here. There are still about 11 hours left of the day, and I still want to make some swords from the iron I have. I figure since the worth of each piece if determined by how much material went into making it, and iron swords are the easiest to make.

"Stay for today." Someone says.

"Keep going." Someone else says.

"We don't be splitting up!" Arnold says over the sounds of the people. "To make it a safer trip, we will wait here for the rest of today and leave early in the morning, perhaps earlier than the sunrise!" Arnold takes control and everyone settled down. Some are pleased with the outcome, some aren't. I personally am. "And please return the torches to Khalid." He adds.

I take the torches back from everyone, along with additional thanks. Once that is done, Arnold tells me we will meet up back here tomorrow morning, and that I should be here before the sun rises. With that, we go our separate ways.

I stay outside the town so I can take my smelter and the rest of my tools out to make some swords. With my increased mana and my increased magic power, I am able to better create swords. With the weaponsmith job, I am able to further increase my sword crafting ability. I create my first iron sword in a few minutes with the help of some Intermediate Earth Magic smoothing out the three iron I used in it, and It looks quite nice. I place a wooden handle on it and set it in place with a push tang.

With my first sword made, I decide to check its value in the shop. Three iron should make it worth at least 60 credits, which is the worth of three leather.

Well, I know it was going to be higher, and 120 credits are just what I wanted! With this new knowledge, I get started on a second sword. I can use earth magic to form the iron into sword-shaped rods, and then use my weaponsmithing skills to make the finer adjustments. I finish off the sword with a little grinding, and then use earth magic again to make the handle and pommel. With this method, the sword still sells for the same price, so I start to produce them quickly.

On average, at the end of 10 hours and 30 minutes, just 30 minutes before the shop closes, it took me 15 minutes to make a sword. This only allowed me to make 42 swords though, so I was only able to use 126 iron and sell it all for 5040, which is good and all, but I know I could get more.

I could buy Advanced Fire Magic for 4,000 and lessen the time it takes to make each sword, but it would also increase the time I need to wait for mana to recover. I could buy Basic Lightning Magic just to see what it was all about.

Nah, time to get some of the skills I've been holding off on getting. Crafting for 200, Alchemy for 200, Medic for 500, Multi-Shot for 200, Sculpting for 200, Identification for 1,000 which I was really holding off on getting, Herbalism for 200, Hawk-Eye for 300 to see further, Dead-Eye for 1,000 to slow perception of time, which I only didn't get because it was so expensive and doesn't say how much it slows, and that leaves me at 1,240 credits. Because I'm almost out, I buy Basic Plant Magic. I don't know how it works, but it might do something useful. I buy four more torches and then I wait for morning by making more swords.
