Chapter 5
I exit the shop, and trying to open it again. 'Shop'. Sure enough, the shop opens. Closing the shop again, I take out some of those arrows from my inventory. One after the other, I rain a hail of arrows upon the wolves. Death from above, those wolves never knew what hit them!
A little over a dozen later, though, I get a very exciting pop-up.
>**Level-up!**
Oh, yeah, boyee! I have to kill a few more wolves, but once I blow through sixteen total from the beginning of the night, they have all died. Before I level-up, I decide to go down and collect the bodies of the fallen wolves. At 20 credits a body, I should be able to get 320 credits! After collecting the bodies, I go back into the tree and open the shop again.
I sell the sixteen dead wolves, this time with teeth, and go to the buy category. Holy cow! I've got 990 credits! Papa bless! I must be getting credits from killing the wolves! Super cool! With 990 credits I can get... so much stuff!
But first, I need to improve myself. Skills, skills, skills! Opening the skill menu of the buy shop, I see several skill books that I can buy. I really wanted to get a magic skill book, but I didn't want to be left without any money. Unfortunately, the cheapest magic skill book cost 1000 credits. For now, I'll go with Archery. It's 300 credits, but I think it'll be worth it. Right now, I can only hit wolves that are less than ten feet away, or directly under me, so I really need this skill.
Okay, with 690 credits left I head to the tools category. I need an axe, something to make flame, some string, maybe some bear traps, and something to make a real bed out of! I don't need to sleep, but I get a little sleepy at night out of habit and would like to be comfortable.

For 100 credits, I buy an axe. For 50 credits, I buy a shit-ton of string. For 100 credits, I buy a hammock deal. It should be comfortable. Hm... I could use a sword. For 300 coins, though, I'd rather not. A small knife will have to do for now, from the tools category for 100 credits. 340 credits left to spend, and I've got a whole shop full of stuff to spend it on. Another skill book here I come!
Skills books. Too many to choose just one! I plan on making a wall around my tree, so Construction might help, but Survivalist might help too. Both cost only 200 credits, but I can only get one right now. I'll get Construction and see if I can make a nice place for myself up here.
Exiting the shop, I open my inventory.
>**Inventory**
>Wooden Bow, Used
>Wooden Arrow x6
>Iron Arrow x100
>Archery Skill Book
>Construction Skill Book
>String
>Axe
>Hammoc
>Knife
Looks like everything I need is here, and 140 credits to spare. I take out the two skill books and consume them. Tasty treats for the mind, and I am filled with knowledge about constructing walls! More specifically, my wall, and all the things wrong with it. For the next few hours, I work solely on the wall. With the construction job, I can make the wall quicker and stronger, and I can use the axe to break large pieces of wood into smaller pieces. Part way into my wall construction, I realize that I need a shovel and some rope, so I buy those two things from the shop with my remaining credits. I check if sticks or rocks can be sold, but neither can.
When night comes around, the ground around my tree has been cleared and a wall has been built to protect me from anything that might want to attack. I set the hammock up high in the tree and use the rope to make climbing up easier. With a real bed and an easier way of getting up, I feel really safe in this tree.

Night passes, and day eight comes up. There was no pop-up, but I suppose it will be important to remember how many days until the next shop day. Just to check, saying Shop did not make the shop appear.

Museum of Deadly Beasts
Lin Jin never imagined he would ever transmigrate. And to such a peculiar world at that. Here, deadly beasts were regarded as sacred, and thankfully, he owned a museum for deadly beasts. “Master, this is just a dying little tortoise…” “What tortoise? This is a rare species that contains the blood of a Black Tortoise and could be promoted up to level seven.” “What about this shedding mongrel?” “Mongrel? How narrow-minded. This is a branch descendant of the snarling hound with a hint of Kirin’s blood. Take my word for it and sign the blood contract at once. I guarantee you that you’ll soar to success and be on your path to invincibility!”

8 119How to Raise Your Dungeon
A dungeon core awakens for the first time. It knows nothing, it has nothing, but it can hear something. Voices, whispering, talking, and sharing. For now, they are distant. But it believes, if it proves itself, they may provide it with wisdom and direction. And so its slow but steady growth begins. Polls will come when the dungeon specifically wants to choose between a number of options, and believes it will receive an answer. However, it will "hear" any comments made on the most recent chapter, and these will shape its behaviour. It trusts you implicitely. This story is an exercise in stretching my creative muscles, so with each decision made, the options and opportunities open to the dungeon will change- some closing off forever. The dungeon will face threats periodically, and its fate in these encounters will be heavily influenced by your advice, though it will of course do its absolute best even without advice. It hardly wants to die. Heavily inspired by There Is No Epic Loot Here, Only Puns, though my approach to the concept is somewhat different from that work.
8 199Perceptive Ambience
After the boom of the industrial revolution, something happened. The discovery of what that was, and why things turned out the way they did... But let's focus on today. Greenery has overgrown a building now-forgotten, and the memories of what was permeate the crumbling walls. Something nearby wakes up those fragmented memories, and something new is born.
8 104The Light in Death
Set in a modern city where Jesse Gil narrates his experience running a business capitalizing on his ability to heal any affliction — even death. He's forced to take on a student, Shawn Ellison, a spoiled college dropout who awakens abilities of his own, to prevent him from accidentally killing himself. As a result, Jesse must become more than just a healer. He'll need to master his power over energy: the fuel for life, the soul, and magic. I'm uploading the initial draft of each chapter so people can follow along with the story as I complete the manuscript. I'm hoping to gather interest, and potentially attract an editor. After going back to revise and edit; I will self-publish it.
