《Shaking the world》Chapter 7: Acquiring a weapon

Inside the classroom, all the students from the first day sat at their desks looking at what Kira had just written on the board.
Mage Knight Tournament!
“At the end of every year, the academy holds an annual tournament for the students. This ranges from first year students like yourselves to fifth year students in their final term. Battles will be three on three so teamwork and synergy are important.”
What is she going on about?
“So before delving further into this topic I would like to know what you think is essential in a fight.”
Looking around the room her eyes met with Daelos’s causing her to reveal a charming smile.
SHIT!!
“Daelos care to explain?”
You Bitch!!
Standing up from his seat his face didn’t betray his thoughts. “The key to winning any fight lays in three fundamental practices. Having greater strength than your opponent, Being faster than your opponent and Having a better technique compared to your opponent. If these three practices are utilised to their greatest ability then losing is practically impossible.”
“Oh I didn’t think you were so smart!”
Shocked by Daelos’s enlightening statement the rest of the class looked at him like he was an alien. This was especially true for Rhina as she had fought him with her everything.
Is that what he used to fight me?
“Daelos you are correct. Strength, speed and technique are essential in battle if you want any hope of victory. And because of that I’ve decided to place you in teams that suit that dynamic. In team 1 we’ll have Rhina as she has the most destructive power amongst the class. Then we’ll have Daisha as she’s the fastest in the class and last but not least we’ll have Daelos as his adaptability is the highest!”

Raising his hand Daelos couldn’t help but ask why is everyone still in class. “Didn’t you say that the people who didn’t win a single fight would be removed?”
“Oh that…I lied, I only said that to motivate you guys.”
“…”
“…”
“…”
“…”
“Anyway the purpose of todays lesson is to understand what equipment will enhance your combat capabilities.”
“Meaning?”
“We’re getting you guys weapons!!”
Speaking up for herself Rhina said “I already have my own weapons.”
“Then help your team select their own.”
The rest of the class looked at each other “What about us?”
“What about you?”
“What are our teams?”
“There’s four of you, kick someone out and become team 2.”
“…”
Ignoring their panicked faces, Kira’s attention switched back to team 1. “Off you go.” Shoving them out the class, team 1 headed towards the trading market.
…
“Hey Daisha.”
“Yeah?”
“What was that golden flame you used during your match?”
“That was holy fire.”
“Holy fire?”
“By combining the law of light and fire I made a special flame that has the abilities of light but moved like fire.”
“Cool…What weapon are you thinking of getting?”
“I don’t know. But it should probably be something light weight, so it doesn’t affect my speed. What about you?”
“I don’t know if there’s a weapon that suits me. What do you think Rhina?”
After the night the two spent in the infirmary, Rhina’s attitude towards him improved immensely.
Looking at her two classmates walking behind her, she simply answered. “Your way of fighting is very direct, so I’d suggest a close quarter type weapon.”
Walking around the market the team soon found an affordable shop filled with tier 1 and 2 weapons. Seeing customers walk in the shop owner was delighted and came to personally receive them. “Welcome, how may I be of service?”

Stepping up as the team’s spokesperson, Daelos addressed the owner. “We’re looking for weapons that can last past the annual tournament.”
Bringing them around his shop, the owner should off a variety of swords, hammers and bows. Unfortunately nothing managed to catch their eye.
“Yo Lyla, what weapon do you think I should get?”
“Nothing.”
“huh”
“Your abilities and style of fighting don’t really suit any weapon I know of.”
Is that so.
“You know I feel like you become more and more useless as the days go by.”
“If it wasn’t for me I’m not sure you would have got this far.”
Can’t argue with that.
“If no weapon suits me then what do you think I should do?”
“In my opinion you should just turn your body into a weapon.”
“Turn my body into a weapon?”
“Yeah, don’t you remember what the books in the library said?”
“We read a lot of books!”
“*Sigh*, remember how knights train their bodies in order to handle the energy they draw out from their bodies?”
“Yeah, they’re real nut jobs-
Don’t tell me!
“You want me to go through that kind of training!”
“No I want you to ask Kira about it and get her opinion.”
“Oh! I can do that.”
“Go buy those bracers.”
Looking around the store Daelos saw two silver bracers with built in gloves.
“Why?”
“You need to at least buy something?”
“Good point”
…
Returning back to class, Daelos and the others were surprised to see that only Kira was inside. Seeing them standing by the door frame she hurried them in and checked out their weapons.
Back at the store, Daisha had found a silver rapier and decided to buy it because she thought it’d enhance her light manipulation abilities.
On the other hand Rhina had briefly left the two in order to get her twin elven swords from her room.
“Can’t say I disagree with your weapon choice. But why do you only have bracers?” Looking over at Daelos she couldn’t help but feel confused.
“None of the weapons suited me.”
“Oh? That’s fine.”
“How long do we have until the tournament?”
“Nine months.”
“Can you train these two within these nine months?”
“Oh? What about you”
“I’m going to do my own independent training.”
“Your lone wolfing it huh.”
“Sort of.”
“I see, well I can train these two while you’re doing your independent training.”
“By the way I need a favour”
“Oh?” a mischievous smile crept onto her face.
She’s definitely misunderstanding something.
“Can you tell me everything you can about how knights train their bodies?.”
“I can, but why do want to know?”
“Its been an interest of mine for a while now. I also have another favour to ask.”
“Go ahead.”
“Can I have a leaving pass?”

Eight
His name is Eight. Not really, but that’s what the System decided after a slip of the tongue. One moment, he was stepping out the office door on the way home, and the next waking up on a hillside below a town wall. Oh, and the gate guard drove him off, because he thought Eight was a monster. Life’s tough when you’re trapped in an eight-year old body on another world. The first book focuses on Eight's survival on a dangerous new world. If you're a fan of Gary Paulsen's Hatchet, you'll enjoy it. The story is one of discovery, bushcraft, and finding one's way. Note that, while this is very much LitRPG, progression is slow, and Eight spends much of the first book alone. The second book recounts what happens when Eight and friends head east to the village of Voorhei. Expect a blend of fantasy adventure, ghost story, cozy mystery, and family drama. Books one and two make a complete story, while book 3 has just gotten underway.

The Hand of Sigmar. A Warhammer Fiction.

When confronted about his presence he claims to be led by the God-King Sigmar, but with the name of the Protector of Mankind come his responsiblities. Soon Adebar finds himself tasked with ridding a town of a mad killer, and settling some lethal family quarrels.Word from the AuthorGreetings! The Hand of Sigmar plays out in the much beloved Warhammer Fantasy setting (owned, of course, by Games Workshop). Do not fret, however, as I've made it a point to make the story digestible even to the uninitiated, and maybe even be a good introduction to the setting. This work will be shorter overall, partly because its born out of a sudden passion, partly because I thought I'd try my hand at a more comfortable story than the grim darkness of the 41st Millenium (psychotic murderer and fraudulent holyman included). Depending on how this does and my time allows more adventures may be coming. While I cannot claim the places, concepts and gods etc. mentioned within as my own, the story and all characters flowed from my own fingers.
