That day, the sky was clear. What does it mean? It means that there was no cloud to cover the sun that hanged in the sky!
The most important thing was to the people who lived in a city that located in the middle of desert. Their activity were at the peak because that time the sun also reached its highest point in the sky, hinting that the time was already in the afternoon.
Some of the people washed their own sweat. The heat that produced in the desert made them like that and they also worked daily at the time so they exposed to the sunlight. But luckily the sun was directly above their head because that mean the rest time for them!
"Ah, so hot! By the way are you wondering about the area five kilometers from here?" a merchant asked to the old man that currently sat on the single chair. This old man was one of those merchant that selling his product of his farm of goat.
Seeing the people started to crowded in front of him, he could only sighed. "You still have a habit to come to my place to hear my speech. I don't know what to tell you about today." he really had no inspiration to tell anything to them.
And the people who came to the old man's place was mostly the citizen of this town. Because the old man often told many stories about their city or sometimes even the information about their country, they hastily walked to his place.
"Come on, you are an expert in this field so do you have any new stories? Or do you have information?" someone asked him.
"Information?" when the old man started to rack his brain, suddenly the heat increased by half! Not only that but there was also a loud sound that came from outside the city.
"What was that!?" another merchant exclaimed. "Oh, it can't be that those madmen were doing it again?" another person asked with a doubt.
"Everyone, I told you already not to call them madmen. They were the great scientist that discovered the method of Soul Transfer! You should at least respect them for that." the old man that gripped the edge of his chair now explained.
"Old Man Ryner, pardon his mouth for his ignorance." a middle-aged man that covered himself with long garment now asking for forgiveness form Old Man Ryner.
"Eh, father? Why are you asking for that?" but because his father already position himself with his hand clapped against each other, his son also followed.
"You don't know anything much but Old Man Ryner's grandson is a scientist that worked there too you know." his father whispered to his son. "I see. Then I should apologize instead of you father."
The son stepped forward and said, "I am sorry for my words! Can respectable Old Man Ryner accept my apology?" with a stuttered in every word he said.

Old Man Ryner then only patted his shoulder and replied, "Relax, I'm not angry at your words. It's true that their passion already reached the level of madness but because of that they can accomplish such a feat."
Old Man Ryner then remembered his grandson. "Your age is almost the same as my grandson you know."
The people at the scene had a multifarous look on their face because the newcomer saw that the young man apologized to the old man so quickly. In another place, this was a rare occurance and now they had a new understanding of this city.
Then the old man told them about his grandson....
-
"My nose is slightly itch! Someone must be talked about me." a young man that wear a white coat rubbed his nose. Currently he stayed at the room for almost half a day, checking a formula that showed in the hologram in the front of his face.
Yes, the current technology reached an astounding and profound realm than our world now.
"That's the last one! The formula was valid and now we just need to practice it to the last step of our experiment." after numerous correction and some adjustment he collected the data and saved it in the device.
"Is it really true? Then we need to attend to the meeting room now! Looks like we slightly late this time." a middle-aged man replied to the young man. He also wear the same clothes as the young man and after hearing his sound, he opened the door.
"Uncle Ben, you still here? Are you also done on your part?" the young man smiled and grabbed the device that contains the data. Ben who already used to his smiled sneered because he himself was the most hardworking scientist in this area!
"Yes, I already finished some time ago and just waiting for you."
Then they walked to the outside. In another room in the same area, an old man with his glasses and white beard sat in a soft and comfortable chair. The table in front of him was shaped like a large round table and in every place of the table, there was a document placed in front of the chair.
There were some people who already arrived at the room and sat in their own chair. Mostly of those people were already past their productive age and now the wrinkle in their forehead increased again.
"They said that this experiment will become a major breakthrough if successful. But from the economical outcome, we really waste a large amount of money right?" a bald man asked his friend.
"Actually that's not the main problem. The main problem is we lacked a subject for this experiment." replied his friend.
This place that located in the middle of the desert was actually a place that conducts major research regarding soul! Yes, soul because that topic became so viral in the country and across the globe, they started this topic as a research material.

The first success marked their advancement regarding the soul and the fruit of their effort that time produced Soul Transfer method! This method caused a sensation across the country and this time they tried to test this on a more convincing subject.
Human Experiment.
The old man with the glasses looked at his own portable watch that used hologram to showed the current time. "Where is he? He is our important contributor but yet to appear here." he whispered to comfort himself.
But the door that large enough for two people suddenly opened wide and large. Dozens of people entered the roo and from those people, the young man and a middle-aged man could be seen.
"Manstein, I told you we should come here sooner but you did not listen. Now look you made yourself in trouble." Ben told Manstein about what happened when they arrived at the door.
"Sorry, sorry. But this is the most essence of our hard work and I don't want it to become a pile of junk! Now we must look for our seat and sit down to listen to the decision from the executor." he replied while scratching his head.
"Hey Manstein, at last you appear! Don't make me waiting for you and quick sit down."
"Still acceptable?" Manstein glanced at this bald old man. This bald old man was, in fact his superior and the executor for every project, research, and experimental that conducted in this area.
The old man saw him with his glasses and nodded while tapping at his portable watch in his wrist. "Thank you."
Manstein sat a bit far from him and at his very opposite side sat Ben. Manstein put out the device and plugged it into the hole that matched its size. He also raised his head to see that the seat was full and now a man standing in the front of the large projector.
The room suddenly darkened and the projector turned on. The one who standing in the front of the projector said, "Alright because every important person already gathered here we can start the topic for today's meeting.
"As you know..." when he said that a light that projected a picture appeared in the center of the round table. The picture showed the title for this meeting.
"The latest thing we tried to dig was about the safety of Soul Transfer to the human. We conduct several experiment about it to the rodent and after several trial and error we did it! Their soul move from their original body to the prepared vessel and with the first success we further increased the chance to our survival."
His speech pointed that the survival of them all related to this experiment and now everyone in the room felt pressure in thier chest. Normally they just cast aside this case but this time they seriously in need for a definite proof of their use.
"Yes, our financial issue started to affect our progress and now we barely able to fund this time experiment. But sadly we don't have enough to pay for a subject. Even those government that we called do not have a single prisoner that sentenced to death or anything similar. So we...."
Painful, that was the expression the man showed. He really rejected this idea but from the bottom of his heart, he knew that it was impossible.
“...need a subject that will be used in this experiment.”
From what the man was said, everyone in the room knew that they need a subject. They started to talk about it for a few minutes and still not reached their decision. But to their surprise, someone got up from his seat.
“If you still hesitate to decide then can you let me become a subject? I volunteered myself!” said Manstein with a determined look showed all over his face.
Ben who was sat opposite of him said, “But you need to think this twice! You are still young and your family lived in the city near here so you don’t need to do this. Just let someone else replace you.”
Manstein felt warm in his heart but he still insisted on his decision by pressing a few of button in the table and the data from the device appeared in the projector.
“Let me tell you something. Check your data in your document and then compared it again with the data in my device. This is the data I acquired from few days of experiment and revising the method again.”
While Manstein explained that, the speaker walked towards him and said “Are you really confident in this?”
But to his surprise, Manstein only nodded slightly. The speaker then turned to the bald old man.
“I’m actually delighted after you presented us this but I need to ask you something. Do you really sure about the method?”
The bald old man asked and after that the people raised their heads to compare the data in the document with the data that Manstein showed in the projector.
Manstein answered, “There is no guarantee of one hundred percent to successfully transfer the soul but at least I can increased the chance from sixty percent to seventy percent. Furthermore, the problem after the tranfer has been supressed and I think this is the right time to conduct the experiment.
“But I want to become the subject myself. This is my idea and if you accept it please tell my family in the city that I will participate as the first human subject.”
No one could really say something because they afraid if the unexpected happens to them. But because of this too that they felt guilty.
“Alright....you will become our first human that will try the Soul Transfer method.” The bald old man agreed because they also out of the choice.
“Thank you.”
Thus the first human to conduct this method fell to the young man named Manstein.

Genre: Action, Adventure, Medieval Apocalypse, Times Loops, Progression, War & Fantasy, Grimdark, Magic, Horror, LitRPG (but RP). Tone: Despair at the firsts chapters (which makes sense for a story that begins with the end of the world, doesn't it?), and lots of humor and stupid situations after to lighten the tone of the story. (Oh, and the MC is NOT a psychopath, a rapist, a hypocrite, or human garbage, so sorry for those who like that, because I don't like that). Note: Expect this story to contain grammatical errors and occasional random conjugations. I am learning English, and I have made a lot of progress, but I still have some gaps. Well, but I'm just an enchanter with a secondary illusion skill tree. In other words, I'm totally dependent on my guild. But since thanks to this guild I could play the way I wish I don't mind. After we were all sent to another world I kind of regretted not being able to play god with the others.
