Only 2 days now remained until the completion of the third exam. The only participants left were some of the bravest, smartest and strongest of cultivators. On the third day Zi Cheng was eliminated along with 10 others when they came up against a fearsome wolf demon. On the fifth day Li Huo awakened from his gaze into nirvana and became a Gazing Nirvana realm cultivator.

“Only two days remain, these kids are truely exceptional to remain this long” Orochi stated while stroking his chin. Having 9 participants left was an abnormality as in previous years, almost all participants would have been eliminated before the third day. Many of the grand elders were also having a similar though.

The great elders below them also felt the same, they too were slightly moved by the talent shown by Shi Xuegang and others. After all, Li Huo and Wan Kun’s breakthroughs could be considered extraordinarily fast and extrodinary.

FengHuang and the others continued to gaze at the image which is now showing a cave entrance. This particular cave was sending out waves of spiritual energy that was actually drawing all remaining participants towards. Everyone from Wan Kun to Shi Xuegang were slowly making their way towards it collecting anything valuable on the way.

“Fuck, why are there so many god damned bugs here” Lin Zhenlan who had managed to survive until now is currently unleashing her fury upon a swarm of red back bees. This particular species of bees were known to be highly aggressive in their attacks and commonly worked together to relentlessly pursue their part. The young girl was just unlucky to run into an entire swarm at once.

While this particular swarm were only around the nascent soul realm, their numbers easily made up for the power difference. Each individual bee was only 5 inches long but there were easily over 300 of them or there was if Lin Zhenlan hadn’t slaughtered most of them. Currently about 130 or so remained yet they were still fighting.

“Fucking red back bees are so fucking annoying” the girl put one hand in front and fired off several small energy blast hoping to hit a few bees. Luckily she was able to destroy about 5 of them. ‘Shit, I’m almost out of energy’ realising she was very fatigued, Lin Zhenlan turned to flee in hopes of shaking the demon bees.

“What is that buzzing sound” nearby Wan Kun was also running at high speeds towards a distant large spiritual energy signature. After discovering this buzzing sound, he also sensed several small energies moving towards a much larger energy that felt vaguely familiar. “It’s that surnamed Lin girl we met on the ship” Wan Kun’s master snapped him out of his thoughts. “Do you think we should check it out old man?” The young cultivator asked. “Yeah why not, we’ve got enough treasures as is” his mastered agreed.

During the past five days, Wan Kun had successfully broke into spirit severing realm and had managed to obtain several valuable demon bodies and their demon cores intact. Many rare valuable herbs have also been collected by Wan Kun. Even Wan Kun’s master have commented on how unnatural it is for a single island to have such a large collection of rare herbs in a single place in a mortal world no less.

Rising towards Lin Zhenlan’s location Wan Kun was met with the sight of an obviously tired and sweaty Lin Zhenlan un leashing a flurry of curses while being chased by a swarm of twenty or so bees. “Fuck, Fuck, Fuck, so manly god forsaken dip shit bees. Fuck this shit, Fuck these bees, Fuck this exam, and Fuck you” Lin Zhenlan screamed before screaming wildly at the attacking demons.

“Wow, I did not know so many foul words can come out of a woman’s mouth” Wan Kun was stunned at this type of language, earlier on the ship she had been so polite and peaceful but now that very same girl is cursing up a storm.

Spotting Wan Kun Lin Zhenlan yelled “What are you waiting for? Are you mentally challenged? Help me you retarded piece of shit”. Responding quickly Wan Kun jumped into action and punched out towards the bees. His fists destroyed the demons upon impact. Following his example Lin Zhenlan also began attacking the bee demons.

The two attacked the demons in what could have been a well co-ordinated attack had Lin Zhenlan’s temper not interfered. The beautiful girl just kept attacking wildly missing her targets yelling “Why won’t you piece of shit insects stay still?”

Lin Zhenlan’s attacks were also destroying nearby forestry and even almost hit Wan Kun a few times. “Dear Lord, you almost hit me” he yelled at her only for her to scream back, “Well it’s your own damn fault for not dodging!”

Despite the random attacks Lin Zhenlan threw, Wan Kun’s precise strikes were able to clear out a vast majority of the bees. With Lin Zhenlan’s content wild attacks, Wan Kun had to stay sharp in this horde battle.

Buzz, Buzz, Buzz! Many of the bees unleashed purple stinger projectiles from their spiracle. Wan Kun seeing this yelled “Stop attacking for a sec” and created a blue energy barrier that blocked the strikes. However they kept raining down keeping Wan Kun pinned.

Suddenly Lin Zhenlan charged out of the barrier with a fierce look other face. “Take this, Yellow River Cutter!” Lin Zhenlan unleashed a yellow wave of water that bisected over 50 of the insects. “Finally stopped dodging” Lin Zhenlan that prepared more Yellow River Cutters for the remaining bees.

Since the Bees became rooted when they fired their purple projectiles, and the fact that they were mostly aiming towards Wan Kun, Lin Zhenlan was able hit many targets with relative ease. ‘Thank god demons don’t become intelligent until Spirit Severing stage’ Wan Kun couldn’t help but think to himself. Since demon beasts gained their human level intelligence at the Spirit Severing realm, they were still basically animals.

Very soon, all of the demons were killed by the two cultivators. Every last demon beast core was also collected by Lin Zhenlan and Wan Kun. In the cultivating world, every last recourse is important so all parts of a demon beasts, herbs and magic treasures are collected.

“Phew, thats finally over. Now, brother Wan, I sincerely thank you for your aid” Lin Zhenlan gave her thanks in a polite voice not dissimilar to her done she used back in the Sacred Beast city and the transport ship. She gave him a polite bow while cleaning her dress. This surprised Wan Kun with how polite she was now as opposed to her crude attitude mere moments ago.

‘Is this girl secretly a man?’ Wan Kun couldn’t help but think to himself. Most women he’d met were of the nice gentle variety who never swore or at least not that violently. Most foul language he heard were from himself or other males but this young maiden in front of him just broke that image with her extreme cussing.

“Oh by the way, would you by any chance be heading towards that energy signature?” Lin Zhenlan questioned Wan Kun like nothing had happened. “Er, yeah sure” Wan Kun replied still confused by her sudden flip in attitude. “Very well, since I’m going there too let us travel together. We’ll be safer that way” not waiting for his reply Lin Zhenlan continued forwards. ‘Ah, what the hell’ Wan Kun in the end just decided to follow her.

Meanwhile back in the viewing pagoda. “Wow, that lady surnamed Lin reminds me of a certain bipolar dragon” FengHuang said with a smirk. A water ball suddenly flew at her face before it was blocked by a red barrier. Over at the side Ao Shuidi is frowning deeply while glaring at FengHuang
