Landing perfectly on the floor in between them. I posed the most coolest and badass dab ever.
Boo-yeah! All the kids like dabbing!
[[I applaud for your coolest entrance in saving these damsels in distress. I praise that you've executed that dab perfectly.]]
Hmph, no need to state the obvious Administrator...although I would appreciate more of your praises if you would!
Heh, now let's see how our fair maidens are doing...
I turn to look at them and all three of them looked at me with strange looks.
I turn back to my opponent and stood proudly.
Hah! They were too impressed that they turned mute! I knew I was cool, but not THAT cool. Pff- Now, I should finish this quickly, young teens are in need of help!
Lucia: (What was that???)
Luna: (I don't know, it was embarrassing to see, but let's just be thankful it saved us....whatever it is.)
Alea: *Holding back the urge to burst with laughter*
In the past month, without taking any long breaks, just short ones, enough to have time on checking my stats and upgrading my skills. I continued to gather strength, exp and items...
All in order to face the big one, the man who stood at the top of the food chain of this Labyrinth--- The Big Boss, Tood Raid.
Even now, while facing a formidable foe just like BAK--- I can't tell how insignificant he is compared to HIM.
Big Boss is a man who, if stared on his back, you could see the unreachable heights he had seen for himself. He is a beast, a complete monster, who had already peeked over the horizons, he who would not even be compared to any of these monsters who would only look down at their feet and cower in fear.
I, compared to him, would need everything at my disposal to match his strength--- no his Entirety, the Monster who's known as the Labyrinth Boss: Tood Raid.
That's why...
You'll become my source of growth BAK. You will become the bridge that I will need in order for me to escape!
I don't plan to become a washed up Old Man who'll die in the sticks all alone, I won't allow it! I will not die in this godforsaken lonely Labyrinth!
I will go on ahead, outside, where freedom awaits, and look upon the very same heights that the Labyrinth Boss--- Tood Raid, gazed upon--- and look even beyond over that!!!

[[Indeed you will Angus, and I will support you to reach that goal no matter what or how it may cost.]]
Let's start!
[[The hunt.]]
BAK: "G----GggGgOooOooOOOooLllLlLeEEeeEEeEeEeEEeeeEeEEeEmMMMmmMmMmmMMm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
*PANG!*
BAK went straight for the kill and aimed his blade at me, only for it to be blocked by a pillar I had created to defend myself.
[Pillar Create], A skill I've gained through so many experimentations of skills over the previous month I'ved grinded. It creates a pillar from the natural sources for it's creation like the ground I'm standing on, or from pieces of ores around the labyrinth.
Although...I could also-
BAK: "oooOoOoAAAaaAaA---"
Hitting BAK with a pillar to his side out of nowhere, I sent him flying straight to a wall.
Lucia: "What the- WHERE DID PILLAR CAME FROM?!"
The Creation of Minerals! The skills [Iron Create], [Rock Create], [Quartz Create], [Silver Create] and [Bronze Create], allows me the ability to create these natural minerals from thin air! The distance doesn't matter from where I want to create these skills, as as it's within my sights, I'll be able to create a mineral everywhere around my opponent!
BAK: "Gha-HAaAaacK!?!?!"
BAK pukes out blood, but stood up right away as if nothing had happened. It looks like he's also tmgained the ability to heal after gaining his new revival skill.
Hmm, what a drag.
It looks like I'll need to show more of what I'm capable in order to finally shut him out.
Running at full speed towards me, BAK tried to stab his sword through me. But I completely stopped it by creating an enhanced Iron wall infront of me.
Luna: "Just now---"
Alea: "Oh~?"
Luna: "Did it create iron and mold it into a wall?!"
[Power of the Stone (Passive)], allows me to change the properties of every kind of mineral. I can change, bend, liquify, soften, harden, weigh, and move them all according to my will. It took me the entirety of that whole month in order to master this skill, and now, it is a part of me. One that I would call my signature skill.
Remolding the Metal I created into a sphere. I raised my hand and beckoned the BAK to attack me.
Come, it's been a while since I've faced you. The strongest Room Boss of this Labyrinth!
BAK: "OOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH----!!!!!!!"
BAK reels his blade behind him and quickly slashes it towards me.
I parried his attack with the Iron Sphere I created. Creating flying sparks through the air.
BAK: "GoOoleMmM! GoOLeEmM! gOlEeeEEeEm!!!"
Jeez, everyone in this Labyrinth literally hates my guts (If I have insides). That's why, even when there are a few intelligent monsters roaming this Labyrinth like the Lizard Warriors, I couldn't make friends with them since they were so hostile towards me even at our first meetings and greetings. I'm just a guy looking for a friend...
While there is Big Boss whom I've encountered occassionally...I just don't feel like befriending him, even if he seems like a cool person to talk with, given our circumstances and why am I even grinding like for the heck of it, I don't think we can make a relationship like that with how it is.
*Whoosh!*
*Slash!*
*Pang!*
*Clang!*
Every strike and attack were easily defended with my Iron Sphere.
This repeated motion started to bore me, so tried something fun.

I seperated the sphere into tiny little balls and surrounded BAK with the small marble sized metal I've created.
BAK: "!!!"
Suddenly, Spikes appear in every each one of them and pierced through BAK's armor and body.
BAK: "GuhhAHHH-!!?!"
I took a step forward with a sudden burst of speed.
Just as I was about to make contact with it's body, I created a very thin metal panel in front of it's abdomen and phased through it.
I burst through it's stomach after gaining a sudden acceleration after passing through the metal panel.
Luna: "H-How gruesome! What kind of abilities did it use just now?!"
Just now, I used three skills. Those are called [Spike Creation], [Earth Travel (Passive)] and just a simple [Body Bullet (Passive-Active)].
The spike creation skill, I believe I won't need to explain what it does. But just in case It creates spikes on any mineral I wish to make with. The Earth Travel skill is a new ability I've experimented on before. Basically, when I dip a little bit of my foot through the floor/ground (must be made out of stone or any other mineral) and immediately activate my Body Bullet skill's passive, it slightly launches me towards the direction I face. It some sort of an acceleration skill. Finally, remember how my Body Bullet skill sends me out of the ground with great speeds once I exit to the surface? That applies to thin panels made out of mineral as well.
[[Allow me to take it from here.]]
[[This battle strategy was formed in order to allow Angus to use his Body Bullet skill whenever, wherever, and however he likes.]]
[[There was a time before when Angus had to fight against a Room Boss who could change the properties of his room.]]
[[In retaliation regarding it's ability, he thought of ways on how to counter it's ability and came up with an idea to use acceleration panels to fight against it.]]
Exactly, and thanks to that. With the help of these thin panels that would instantly launch me out after phasing through and out of it, I'm now able to fight my opponents no matter what the circumstances may be!
I may be strong, but that's because I trained to become one! I'm not overpowered enough to just throw out random overpowered things just like that. I don't even have the capability to whip out black holes out of nowhere! I gain these OP abilities because I make them to be one!
Ah, but [Body Bullet] and [Earth Walk] is a starting skill. It was already there to use, so It doesn't count.
Ovepowered abilities don't just magically appear out of thin air, you make one. It's all in the process of growing strong. We make these choices to stand up and fight for our lives.
Even if I'm in a fantasy world where magic and sword fighting are a thing, life isn't a fantasy, it's the harsh cold truth of every world there is. It doesn't care if you die or live, if you're strong or weak, Life chooses how you will live and then die.
But of course, if you don't become strong enough to live in a world that's ruled over by the strong, Life will easily pluck every inch of your body until nothing's left to pick.
And this right here---
BAK: "Bb-gghh!?!?!!?!"
---Is the result of a MONTH OF STRUGGLES INSIDE THIS ACCURSED LABYRINTH!!!
Landing safely behind BAK. I turn around to see it collapse on it's knees. The hole in it's abdomen was very clear and you could see it's insides dangling out. Jesus Christ, that looks disgusting.
Luna: "It- It defeated it with just one attack!"
Lucia: "Uwaah...It's even scarier than that guy. It's both faster, stronger and more powerful too..."
Alea: "Fufu~ I find it cute~"
Lucia & Luna: "..."
Alea: "Whaaat?~♡"
Luna: "Well...you did find small things interesting."
Who's small?!
[[Angus, the fight isn't done yet.]]
Wait what?
Lucia: "Ah! look at that!"
BAK twitches and suddenly grabs his sword. The hole in his abdomen slowly closing up.
What in the...Ew, that actually looks disgusting to see!
So it isn't done yet...It must've gained a strong healing factor more than I thought it had.
[[You are quite off your mark Angus.]]
Oh? why so?
[[I've analyzed more about the Berserked Armored Knight, and it seems like it won't last long after this. It is only hanging by it's life thread due to a skill that grants him the ability to pursue even after death, if only just by a few moments.]]
Is...that so?
BAK: "UwWWwwoooOoOoooOhhHhHhh....!"
BAK was already dead. But it persists on clinging to it's life if only but for a short moment. Groaning under it's tired breath, it walks forward towards the girl who were in front of it.
[[We should go ahead and stop it before it reaches the girls. It may harm them once it is infront of them.]]
...
[[Angus?]]
No, let him. He looks tired enough as it is.
[[...?]]
BAK: "UwWwWwwWWooAah..."
Walking without balance and tripping over nothing, BAK pursues to stand up. Slowly but surely, making his way towards the girls---
*Step*
*Fall*
*Stand up*
*Step*
*Step*
*Step*
---and pass by them.
Lucia, Luna & Alea: "..."
The girls didn't panic as they were approached by the hovering figure of the defeated knight.
They did not sense any killing intent from BAK anymore, BAK continued to proceed walking, they were beyond the destination he wanted to rest in his final moments.
After receiving the final blow he took from me, BAK decided it was time to end it. He was defeated, so it was just proper for him to retire.
The destination he looked upon--- was his throne.
It wasn't anything special, it was just a plain wooden chair with arm rests. But somehow, it looked special enough because it didn't seemed special.
Climbing up the few three steps of stairs towards his throne, light that peeks through the open broken parts of the ceiling, spotlighted his descent towards his throne.
It resembled the sight of a lonely knight returning to an empty throne with no king in it's place.
Everyone was quiet as they watched the tired Knight sit on his empty throne. He weakly lets go of his sword and rests it on his arm rest.
BAK: "....It....s...ti..m....to.....res....t.."
BAK mutters a few words, but we couldn't make it out with how weak his voice was.
His body started to glow bright, piece by piece, his body slowly became light fragments.
With a last attempt of effort, he takes off his helm and looks above the small view of the blue sky from the small open cracks of the ceiling.
BAK: "Ahh--...Lo...v.....l.....y..."
The throne was now truly empty.

Cheep!?

He survived when she, too, vanished, leaving behind nothing but a cryptic note. He was devastated, but he kept moving forward as best he could. Cancer didn’t put him down, and after suffering through several rounds of chemotherapy, Charles Monroe thought that things might finally be looking up. That is, until a virulent strain of ebola swept through the city. With his immune system strained as it is, the odds don’t look good for Charles. It claims that it needs his help and that it can give him a second life, one far away from all the pain he’s ever known. So, Charles answers as any reasonable person would. He says no. Charles isn't ready or willing to die yet. But, as with everything else to this point, even his choice to keep fighting is taken from him all too soon. With no other option but the dark oblivion of death, Charles chooses to make a deal with the spirit of a distant world that's seeking a wild card in its battle against the gods, monsters, and mortals that threaten its existence. Someday, he’ll find where his family went. Someday, he’ll uphold his end of the bargain and hunt beings powerful beyond anything he’s ever known. Someday, he might even – hatch? “CHEEP!?” Things to Know: -Cheep!? Will release on a minimum weekly schedule. -After a backlog of chapters, posting will slow, but in the interim you can expect a chapter a day up until roughly 25 chapters. -This story at times will potentially carry some heavy moments, but the tone is intended to be lighter overall. -There are invisible game-like elements in this story, but nothing so concrete as a dedicated gamelit novel. -I personally have some issues with anxiety, so I may or may not interact with the community a lot. I'll try if anyone has questions, but I can't guarantee that it'll be consistent. -MC is a non-human lead, and will never actually become human. Romance will potentially happen between side-characters, but not with the MC. -MC IS NOT THE ONLY VIEW POINT. I have to put that out there because people sometimes hate alternate PoV's in a story. None of them will be filler, and they'll be there only to give a little bit more nuance and meaning to the world that the MC has stepped in, or is about to be imminently important. I'll try to keep them down, but this also helps to prevent me from burning out getting trapped in one view. -Most of all, I hope that this story is enjoyable to you, and that you have a great time reading it! -Written by Michael Adams, Cowritten/Edited by Summer Kent

Scorched - The Winter Winds (LitRPG)
Frank Ebner once wanted to save the world. Let the second one be better than the first. On Earth he was a student of... well it hardly matters anymore. It was dying, and he and the rest of his fellows and friends studying how to stave off the end graduated just in time to be told it was too late. That there was not enough time, funds, will, to stop it anymore. That the governments and the worthies of the world had moved from trying to stop it, to surviving the oncoming apocalypse, while blaming each other. That was a world Frank wanted nothing to do with. One riven by wars for places in the Archologies going up, and between them and the dying world they were leaving behind. So when a strange voice offered him a way out, to a world unmarred by the poison killing his? Frank took it. The voyage changed him, made him fit his new world, one of stats and magic. It came with perks, for in passing through their Heavens, they'd been exposed to Divinity, and taken some of the Celestial within them. Heroes now, but there are heroes, and there are Heroes. The nobility of the Empire care only for those who carry blessed bloodlines, and their time to adapt and train up for the new world is limited. Patrons are scarce among those like Frank, with only the base Hero perks, and magic studies expensive and lengthy. Often requiring heavy Oaths to gain the necessary aid to wield mana as a mage. Frank found another way. It nearly cost him his life. Now on the run and burned by the very magic he sought and craved, he is a pilgrim traveling to the The Eternal Tree, font of Perseverance. Frank hopes Ir-karlak will grant him some way to recover from the fires that scorched him. Without snuffing out the embers those fires lit within, for he has learned to harness them and he would not give up magic for the world. *** In the last 21 days, as I update this, I've managed about 18-19 updates. So Scorched should update most days, muse willing. She's fickle, sometimes. Not every day, but most. If there's an update for the day, it will be at 7PM, GMT+2. *[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] Actually completed it. :) *
