《Sanctity of Blood》Chapter 18

A humongous red wolf had appeared in the sky.
John had woken up in the midst of his transformation.
He felt so much energy coursing through his veins that he didn’t know what to do with it.
He saw everything around him getting smaller and smaller while he grew bigger.
“What’s going on? Is it because I ate so many blue crystals?” John couldn’t understand what was happening.
John then saw a little figure with blood red wings on its back, flying close to his gigantic head. A moment later, he recognized that it was his son, Drake.
“How do you feel, dad?” Drake asked.
“What is happening to me?” John’s voice was heard inside Drake’s mind.
“I bit you again and injected some more venom into you. You have become stronger. Once you finish the transformation you should be able to go back to your previous state.” Drake said.
A towering red wolf with green eyes, more than a hundred meters long could be seen.
John tried to acclimatize himself with his new body until he discovered that he felt comfortable in it. He felt fast and powerful and that made him happy. He turned to his son and then said, “Can we turn everyone back home to look like me?”
It was almost dawn, a burning line of a red yellowish light could be seen on the horizon.
"Yes. Better to go back before the entire village wakes up," Drake said with a frown. In fact with his new capabilities, they could both instantly appear back in their respective rooms like this night never happened. The All-purpose system could very well teleport them, couldn't it?
"Why? It's not like we have something to hide." John Brightwood said as he kept opening his palm and then making fists repeatedly as space seemed to almost bend from the sheer power he barely summoned.

John then said, "This power you gave me could change the village. Our way of living will change from now on. We won't be barely eating scraps and no beast could ever put us in danger. Do you know how many hunters, before me who died trying to feed the village? They put their very lives on the line so that the little ones could have something to eat….and the times we were helpless when a class 3 beast had come to our village looking for food... hehehe... it's now over. OVER!"
Their telepathic link told Drake that the relief his father was feeling for the villagers was immense.
"Why stay close to the Brightwood forest? Why not move somewhere safe and learn to cultivate the land?" Drake asked the obvious.
John only shook his head and then said, "And go where? Our village is probably the only settlement on the Brightwood continent. If there are other humans, they should be immortals who hunt for beast cores. There are two Forbidden grounds on this Brightwood continent that I know of from the clan records : the Brightwood Forest and the Dragon Lands. The brightwood forest takes up three quarters of the continent and the remaining is the Dragon Lands."
"What's in the Dragon Lands?" Drake asked, curious to know if he had found a new target.
"Beasts with Dragon blood and real Dragon themselves. It's their paradise. Of course, beasts with normal bloodlines are allowed, but they would need to have enough strength and connections to claim a territory there." Said John.
"Understood." Said Drake who couldn't wait to get his hands on some dragon blood.
John felt it though their telepathic link as he said, "Surely, you're not thinking to...you know…"
"Yes." Said Drake with a solemn look. He continued, "Such a noble bloodline. I can't let it slip through my fingers now that I am strong enough to claim it."

John sighed and then cut off the telepathic link. He was already overwhelmed by the actions of his five year old son. He had to stop looking into the kid's mind, lest he starts having the same dreams of grandeur.
"System, why can my father shut off the telepathic link while I can't." A confused Drake asked.
[You're the Alpha. Any one belonging to your bloodline can access your mind at any time and vice versa. It's an absolute rule as you're the one taking care of them with your role as the Alpha. They need to be able to join you if they need your help at any time.]
Capitalizing on the time he had while his father was ' disconnected ', he asked the system, "Do you have a way around it? My thoughts are too sensitive and it'll be a disaster if my father starts turning the rest of the village."
[Yes. There is a way. Fragmenting your mind into two separate entities.]
"Nice. Do it now!"
[Permission to access Empyrean's corpse to siphon energy off of it. A being of your level will demand more energy than what I have stored.]
"Permission granted." Said Drake with a smile. It was good news for him to know that he could use the immortal corpse of the previous Allgod as an energy source. With this the sky wasn't even the limit with what he wanted to do with the All-Purpose System.
He didn't even feel any pain as the collar flashed a light and his mind was divided into two.
Now he could filter his thoughts instantly and let the part of him that was connected to his bloodline know what it needed to know.
The other part could converse with the system and do all the sensitive thinking it needed to do.
"System, teleport us back to our living room in the village."
Since the system had never been there, it couldn't bring them to the place. Instead, it made a scan of everything in a thousand mile radius and the village just happened in that radius. Drake only had to select the place he wanted to be sent to and then both him and his father appeared in the living room of their house under the surprised wide eyes and mouth of a two year old. His little sister, Lucia Brightwood.
"Bwother...do magic again...again." She said out loud jumping and clapping hands.
A startled woman then came running into the living room. When she saw the three she heaved a sigh of relief, "I thought someone had broken in."
She couldn't miss the guilty look on the father and son pair, "What are you two hiding, so early in the day? You look guilty."
"Babe, we gotta talk. Drake, play with your little sister for a while." John seriously said as he left with his wife, Lena Brightwood, towards the kitchen.

Advent of the Mindfire Mage: A Challenger's Return Story
Updates MWF, 6PM EST! Not so long ago, a story was posted on Webnovel, one that fired my imagination unlike almost anything before or since. It was known as The Challenger's Return: Rebirth of the Rainbow Mage. However, 150 chapters in, the author NightWind, who I'd personally interacted with and begun to consider a true friend, vanished from the internet without a trace. And so, I have acted upon my fervent desire to pick up his torch, to refuse to let his world that stirred such passion in me die. Read below about my own take on The Challenger's Return. Was Lheticus summoned to the Tower by chance, or by choice? Either way, with the new power he wins, he won't hesitate to burn anyone who seeks to keep him from his true love to cinders, and with a unique ability of the highest potential, he may just succeed, but he's just as likely to burn himself down. And as it turns out, the latter case may be woven into his very destiny...can that destiny be changed? And if it is, what will be the repercussions for the Tower? (You may want to read a fair amount of the original Challenger's Return before starting this, as, particularly in the early chapters, many things that are laid out in it are glossed over in this story.)
