Ludolf, who was supposedly guarding the entrance, did not attempt to stop the man who had just passed beside him without even a glance or a greeting.
But Ludolf didn't seem to mind; he was simply rocking back and forth in his chair by shifting his weight and occasionally pushing lightly with his feet.
"Fath.....vise president, I finis..."
"Both of you can dispose , I have an important matter to discuss with his highness " Adam was about to say something before he was abruptly cut off by his father, who gave both him and Ludolf orders to leave.
" Hm?!... " Ludolf was about to object, but instead chose to simply stare at Zel, who nodded slightly.
Then Ludolf stood up, spanked his big belly, and exclaimed loudly,
"then!!.. after protecting your ass for so long....I am taking some well-deserved vacancies."
" Then, before you leave, let me thank you for your hard and dedicated work; I'm sure it was difficult for you to sit and sleep all day." Zel expressed gratitude to him.
" "What !! It was training, not sitting! i was improving my balance and blood circulation, and I was reducing my muscle pain, and anxiety, Because if you didn't know! seeing you in your current state was extremely depressing for me, you should try it sometime.... anyhow, boss!.... " The chair he was sitting in vanished as if it had never been there, to begin with.
He then wrapped his arm around Adam's like they were old friends.
"Anyway, little guy, come with me! We small Frey, don't belong among the bigwigs, bwohahahahah. See you later, sir!" Ludolf spoke to Adam. before they began to leave
The loud ludolf could still be heard from a distance by both men in the room
"So, do you drink? Let's goo! I know some ladies who can assist you in releasing your pent-up frustration. Bwohahahah... hold on! How old are you again? Bwohahahahaha."
After a moment, the corridor fell silent once more. a sign that they had both left
Sigh~
Sighing, Kaspar closed the door, walked to a comfortable chair in the corner of the room, and let himself sink into it. He was looking up at the ceiling of the room when he asked,

"Zel, what happened in there? ....How did someone like you! end up like that!? .....
" ....what about Rainer? " Zel asked back
" Rainer refused to give us any information, claiming that he had received orders directly from you, and for his own safety....we had no choice but to put him in detention ... but that just infuriated the Russians, even more, they perceived it as if we were hiding information from them ...the death of one their own didn't help at all ..... That woman, Anna if I recall her name correctly.. we had no other choice than to give her to the Russians as a token of goodwill to calm the tensions. we didn't even have the time to interrogate her,
" tensions? what kind " Zel asked
" Lyudmila and Jess almost fought each other, if it was not for The Doc's intervention... let's just say things would be... Anyway, you're not going to tell me what happened, are you?" Kaspar asked already knowing the answer. "
Upon hearing 'the doc' Zel shivered a bit as if he remembered feelings he didn't want to recall
" Things are more complicated than they appear, Kaspar.
More importantly, Tell me, he used me like a rat lab didn't he !? " he then said His voice full of worry, hoping that he was mistaken and that what he is imagining right now simply didn't happen.
" Everything went well, Right now DOC is there with 9 of your royal guards, and Jessica is on her way! ...and What did you expect !? I rarely got to see him that happy, despite the fact that most of that happiness came from the discovery of a new world,"
Kaspar stated solemnly before adding
" when he saw you....he even started to laugh in an evil way and said something like ' finally you are in between my hand ZeL '....." Kaspar said still serious
"...."
"...."
"...."
" B.. hahahahahahahah "They both began to laugh.
"By the way, I had no idea you had a child! He wasn't a member of the Academy, was he!? .... You should treat him better, he's a good boy," Zel said.

" What kind of story did that bold son of mine had told you? "
" The story of How great of a parent you are, " Zel said teasing the middle-aged man
"...."
"...."
But they both calmed and became serious once again
"My generation knows better than anyone...how many things have changed, the world...the birth of what we call the awakened.....after that space crack appeared out of nowhere 20 years ago, humanity had known what we can consider the greatest calamity and the darkest age of all its history... facing almost total annihilation and nearly going extinct from 9 billion to approximately now what 6 million at best ?! "
sigh ~ Kaspar took a deep sighing before resuming
"anyway.... what I'm trying to say is that earth is a dangerous place, and I'm just trying to keep him safe... one day he'll be on his own, and that day he'll realize it was all for his own good...that what his mother would want to him . " Kaspar said in a melancholy yet sad tone.
" .... tomorrow I am heading to Berlin, I need to see her," Zel said in a stoic voice.
" no you are not!, such a trip is too dangerous for the actual you !. if it's the coalition you want to contact we could send a team for that ... "
" I need to personally talk to her.. "
"What about that new world? ....you are aware that you are no longer the same, and I am sure you are feeling it.. Your ability, the results show that you can only use 9 percent of its capacity, which is the most your body can handle. To put it simply, you are like a sportsman with a heart condition; if he overstimulates his body, he will not be safe from a heart attack "Zel was told by the vice head of the research department
"So you're saying I can still use it, but there are slightly more risks than there were before, right?!?" Said Zel, who was now slowly pulling himself out of that hospital bed.
" What I'm trying to say is that you should try to avoid using it as much as possible if you want to live. " Kaspar said, rising from his seat and walking over to Zel to assist him in getting up."
"How long would it take for me to fully recover?" asked Zel, who appeared to have accepted those facts about his new state.
"I'm not sure, maybe a year, maybe two, maybe never??!! I sent the results to the DOC, and all I could say is that the actual you, is like a crippled... It is even a miracle that you survived "
"I see...then make certain that Professor Rainer is released from detention and adequately compensated for his services." Meanwhile, Zel began to walk out of the room, but each step he took was clearly difficult.
"Did you not hear what I said? Where do you think you're going at?" Kaspar yelled.
"On a walk! ....don't worry, I know my body better than anyone, and I'll be fine....oh, and after you apologize to Professor Rainer, please send him to my office, and I'll meet him there," said Zel, who was making his way out of that hospital room. In a nonchalant tone of voice.
" Wha..? if you want to kill yourself please my guest ." Sigh~
Sighing, the vice president of research was left alone in that room with nothing to do but stare at its white roof once more. He then said to himself,
"Better than anyone he says, hmpf not sure if you know it better than the DOC."

Apollyon's Curse
Within the pages of folklore and fantasy, tales of people who chase after the dream of eternity, of living forever, rarely find a happy ending. They are either struck by the grim truth of reality, give up, and return to mortality or face a ghastly realization of their wishes. The latter often the worse fate, as they come to realize, only far too late, that what they sacrificed was worth far more than the time they gained. Ultimately, the common thread in these stories is that “immortality is as much a curse as it is a blessing”. People either realize it early and give up or are doomed to inevitably face its consequences. In the world Enrich lives in, that saying does hold merit. Every pathway towards eternal life has shackles of its own. They bring those high above down to the ground, evening the playing field. It is thanks to these fundamental laws that ambitious mortals are able to defy the heavens and achieve immortality themselves. The variety of methods result in each of these bindings varying in intensity and degree of freedom. Enrich’s path doesn't break this trend. Though, after what he did to himself, most wouldn’t even consider him a living thing anymore. On the day of his ascension, a world’s worth of souls were melted and recast. On that day, the human’s path had reached its conclusion, recast into Apollyon. An artifact, a weapon, is eternal, after all. As for the curse? The payment will be made, as it must. So why not offload the curse to someone else? Mortals throw their lives away for all manner of petty reasons, noble or otherwise, especially in desperation. Eventually, someone will be willing to foot the bill. Most will if given the chance. The bait is far too tempting, after all. Power, status, knowledge. All at their fingertips. If only they say “yes”. And Apollyon is very willing to help any lost souls. If they give up everything in return, of course.

Mistwalker Xyn and the Cult of Eldritch Evil
[Participant in the 2020 Royal Road Writathon Challenge] Having just graduated to adulthood, Xyn is salty about how his lackluster Awakening has resulted in his current derided status within his clan and tribe, particularly when compared to the successes of his litter-siblings. The revelation of the truth about his heritage sets in motion events leading to him traveling to human lands on a secret mission for his tribe. Cringeworthy moments and awkwardness will ensue as young Xyn (an anthropomorphic tiger-kin), raised in the sheltered life of a martial artist, navigates human society with a trusty sidekick or two picked up along the way and might just save his corner of the world while he's at it. Gore will be minimally present as needed to tell a fantasy martial arts tale. There won't be any sexual content, but mild/vague suggestive themes may occur occasionally due to the nature of Xyn's mission and his insecurities. Story should be teen appropriate.
