the voice of a man echoed throughout a vast empty dark cave.

behind him was a space rift that was approximately 13 meters tall and 2 meters large. if someone looked at it, he would think it was a gate to a sea of pure black ink.

The black spacesuit he was wearing prevented anyone from seeing his facial features,

" It seems that you don't realize the importance of that space rift behind us do you ? ! and why don't you stop complaining for a second, just take the fact that you got assigned to this role as an honor and a recognition for your skills ! " a woman in the same black spacesuit said to him.

" honor ? ! what are you talking about? there is nothing to do here besides standing up, where is the honor in that! and It has been like this forever..... and my skills would be better of use out there. alongside the others "

the man said pointing to the only exit this vast cave had.

" you know what! you ! " he said pointing at her before adding " you can stay here meanwhile I will be joining them." meanwhile he was still lying on the ground, but this time looking at the seeling

As he was getting about to stand up, the woman saw him and exclaimed in discontented voice,

" Are you truly going to disobey the orders you were given?! "

" hn?! What do you mean, Why do I even have to obey them in the first place?!" The man responded to her quietly. with a half-joking, half-serious tone

"...." that woman was just dumbfounded by that answer

" aaaaa~ ....sigh ~..... "You really are no fun !! You're aware of that, aren't you? ?! "

" What!... Fun, right?!....Do you think or find, any part of this mission to be amusing? Lets me remind you that our current primary priority is safeguarding this rift, not having... fun! " She replied berating him.

" Protecting it from what ?!! beside us! there is nothing in here....at least nothing you could consider a threat so sto... "

"judgment day " she interrupted him in a melancholic voice.

" what I am trying to say is that this rift will perhaps be the key for all humanity to once again prosper! if we truly can colonize this world.... it would mean a new beginning, a new era ... an era of peace. all those continuous battles for survival, the constant fightings.....us slaughtering each other for some meager resources....stealing, killing, looting, invading ... all these things that became.... natural, as if they always meant to be like that..... we will put an end to all of them. ...perhaps for us it is already too late and we have no other choice than to be ruthless and cunning if we want to survive.... but one thing is sure !...... I don't want the future generations to have this lifestyle....and this is our opportunity to put an end to all of it....to have a fresh start !! So please.... up until now this mission was and is a success, so don't go ruining everything by starting to do things on your own. " the woman said giving him a moral lesson with a mix of sadness and sincerity visible on her voice.

"...." After her long speech silence once again regained the cave.

The man sighed, then said rasping and whispering to himself

" So you are the optimistic type, but alas it is a naive way of thinking ...you are underestimating human greed young lady. "

" Hmm ? Did you say something.." the woman asked him not sure if she heard him talk or not.

" Nevermind, I said you are probably right, Just look at what we were able to achieve just by working together for that small period, imagine if all humanity was unified behind one common objective. But I think you are putting too much hope in this world, it still could be too dangerous for us... "

" Why what ?! " she asked eager to hear what he had to say.

" We need to see and judge it by ourselves, how it is out there... Instead of relying only on how the others are describing it to us. So let's go ! " the man said looking in her direction getting up and getting the dust off his butt. then he started to walk away

" what?? Where do you think you are going ?!! did you even listen to what I just said !!?..... Here I thought for a second you changed your mind ! "

" hmm? What are you talking about it for the greater good of mankind....." he said in a sarcastic tone.

" Listen to you! The irony in your voice is obvious! ... You know what ! don't disturb me anymore you can do whatever you want, just lets me focus on my duties " she told him.

" It truly not fun hanging out with you, .... Lets me guess you have no friends do you ? ! it is because you are always way too serious and tense, "

the man said. Preparing himself to leave starting to slowly walk toward the only exit.

" Your file said that your ability is teleportation right ? ! Just teleport outside see how it is and come back. Just don't take more than a minute."

the woman said in a last attempt to stop him from leaving.

" If it was possible.... you think I wouldn't have done it by now? and it not exactly teleportation but something similar more like checkpoints... you know what that means right ?! well then see you lat..." But after taking only two more steps a weird sound similar to an electric current started to resonate and echo all over.

" What !?... What is happening? Why is that thing active... Anna ! is it normal ?! ...isn't it too soon for that ? !.. " the guy exclaimed after jumping some meters away and quickly turning around.

" I don't know! but that space rift is definitely not supposed to be reopening that soon....If I recall, it was supposed to reopen only on the seventh day! ..." the woman named Anna said to him

" Happy now ?! You asked for the trouble you got them," she added blaming him.

" heen !! Are you blaming me ?!..." the guy said dumbfounded by how he became the cause of what was occurring.

"Anyway.. aren't we supposed to be the only team assigned for this mission !? or perhaps they are sending a rescue team ?? " he started to ask as many questions, hoping to get any kind of answers from Anna.

" How am I supposed to know? I was only included in it at the last moment! And the only information the higher-ups gave me was the strict minimum. !! Anyway, we don't have time to argue! Be ready for any eventual conflict."

the young lady named Anna said meanwhile jumping away from the space crack! That they were seemingly guarding. taking as much distance possible from it

Upon landing some meter away from it she instantly raised both her hand in its direction.

the man asked her, and she simply nodded two times, still focused on that beautiful yet terrifying sight in front of her.

" Good... " the man said only that word before looking in the direction of where some metallic boxes were laying on the ground, purple energy surrounded one of the boxes before the same thing happens to his left arm, suddenly a big revolver appeared out of nowhere in his hand.

The accumulation of stress, tension and a bit of that natural human fear of the unknown the two gourds were feeling, that short moment seemed for them like it was an eternity.

Finally, after that brief and yet at the same time long waiting, a hand started to slowly emerge from that space rift. then the hand grabbed one of its edges like it was normal to grab the fabric of space itself to begging with,

The rest of the body of that person, started emerging slowly but surely ... Until that person was finally able to fully pull themselves from the grip of that space crack.

it was a man who was wearing the same spacesuit then that of the 2 guards, the only difference being that it was fully white.

The first thing that person did was stretch out.

and before having time to do anything else he found himself trapped in a transparent energy field.

" Jack now !!!!.... "

in an instant, the other guard named jack teleported beside the barrier, then aimed at the intruder that was trapped inside of it, with his weapon looking like a bigger version of a revolver. And without wasting time said in a deep voice full of murderous intent.

" stay still !!.. You move you die, you fail to answer one of my following questions you die ....assuming you understand what I am saying that is! I need you to answer in order, first ..state the name of the place you are originally from, second state your identity ! and finally your goals, objective, or your mission or whatever the reason you're in here for!"
