《Gold Inc.》Chapter 21 - Reminiscence

In reality, the consent forms aren’t all that protective when a woman really wants to bring Phobos to court. After all, it isn’t like when you consent to have an intimate relationship with someone for a night that it applies forever.
Basically, you can withdraw your consent at any given time. Even if you just signed a consent form a few minutes ago and you could withdraw your consent in the middle of the act. So signing it doesn’t prevent a woman from suing Phobos if she feels that she is violated. It just brings an arguing point from Phobos’s side that as far as he knew the women were willing to go to bed with him.
Of course, the consent form could backfire as well. A woman could apply to the court that she was coerced into signing and that she had no such intentions from the beginning. That being said most judges would look at the financial status of Phobos and would express their understanding for such a consent form. The fact that they were in court was a prime example of why it was needed.
It would be much worse if it wasn’t a consent form but a non-disclosure agreement which in reality had no binding power. Such non-disclosure agreements could really be taken as coercive measures from the judge's point of view.
Thankfully there haven’t been many cases where Phobos was taken to court. There were just a few times but when Even talked to them she found out that they just wanted attention from Phobos but had no other way to get it.
They just wanted to keep in touch with Phobos and didn’t have any exaggerated ideas like marrying him. At most, they wanted to be his assistant and be close to him. Even to just be called from time to time so they could offer their night service to Phobos.
After Eve talked to them she sympathized a bit with them but it was basically impossible to be a personal assistant of Phobos. It wasn’t like she was guarding the position or anything like that after all Eve couldn't wait to expand Phobos’s circle but it was hard to convince Phobos that he needed another assistant if she wasn’t at least as competent as her and Hera.
And it was hard to convince Phobos to sleep with a woman more than twice. So the only thing she could do was invest in them like she did in Anna and called them hopeful prospects. In reality, when Phobos was ready Eve intended to start from these women.
Anna was a backup of a backup. There were two batches of women to go through until she was reached. Of course, it wasn’t because Anna lacked something. She could be called impeccable in most aspects but so could the other women. So in this case seniority mattered. Eve had a ledger with hundreds of prospects.
If there were any other prospect in this city most likely they wouldn’t be surviving from the restaurant as they were now. Eve had just started expanding her prospects in the southeastern region of the European Federation. She had invested in Anna not long before which is why she wasn’t that high in seniority.
This is also the reason why Anne had scruples in having a relationship with Phobos. If she was a senior in the group of prospects she would have already been convinced that Phobos was the ideal male and her being entirely dedicated to him was the right thing to do... Cough... That's right as Eve said to Phobos she wasn’t brainwashing people to sleep with him but she did like to “convince” others to dedicate themself to him.

Of course, Eve felt that there was no need for Phobos to know about this. When Eve took him around to inspect minor investments he would just feel that his investment partners were quite enthusiastic and had good social skills. It never crossed his mind why all his investment partners were beautiful women after all he had been accustomed to most people he met being such beautiful ladies.
Eve was naturally careful not to let Phobos meet women he had already slept with because with his memory he would never forget. If he met one he wouldn’t feel anything strange but if most of his business partners were women he slept with he would feel that something is strange.
Eve wasn’t worried about Phobos finding out. After all, he had access to all his investment information and if he just looked through it he would find that more than ninety percent of the women he had slept with were in some capacity connected to his new businesses.
However, he was too lazy to check such information out. When going around meeting investment partners was nothing more than creating an illusion of busyness and in actuality, he was just traveling around. So Eve just let him meet promising prospects to facilitate future contact when needed.
Eve wasn’t hiding any of this but was just delaying bringing this to Phobos’s attention until she could convince Phobos to expand his inner circle. However, everything she did try to convince him had minimal or no effect on Phobos, it was really discouraging for Eve. This is why she was so hyper when Diana got Phobos’s approval.
At the same time, she lamented that all the layouts she had prepared all came to nothing. She didn’t know how to feel about this apocalypse. Eve achieved a breakthrough with Phobos she had been struggling for years with. At the same time that breakthrough didn’t matter much as the rapid expansion she was ready for could be achieved.
Eve was a bit more cold-blooded than Phobos and Hera after all she came from the dark side of society. That is why she didn’t find much sorrow in the deaths this apocalypse brought about. After all, everybody will die at some point. Did it matter if it was early or if it was late?
She was more concerned with Phobos’s state of mind than the billions of deaths that have most likely occurred. In this world, there was only one thing she was concerned about. Eve as a proud slave the only thing that could occupy her mind was her Master, Phobos.
If Eve had to be honest although she grew up in such an environment but she wasn’t that influenced by it. After all her intelligence was there she isn’t easily brainwashed especially as she was just a prized exhibit and wasn’t trained to be a slave.
This can be seen as she escaped when she found an opportunity. After she escaped she wanted nothing to do with that world and its worldview. She even looked down upon some of the girls seeing how dedicated they are to their masters. More so when they were treated badly, she couldn’t understand why they wouldn’t try to escape every possible way.
For Eve even death was a better option than enduring some of the things she had seen others endure. As she grew up she knew that it was the result of years of brainwashing and special training but she still felt that before reaching such a point taking one's life was better.
Only later when she joined Phobos and acquired better information resources did she know that in order for a “qualified” slave to be produced there were a lot of casualties. The rate of a qualified slave was a hundred to one. Those who were eliminated from the training either were sent to whore houses that didn’t require that obedience or like Eve thought, took their own life rather than be broken.

She found out that there were even gold level trainers that could bring the ratio from 100 to 1 to 10 to 1. However, the nine left out were a lot more tragic as half of them were mentally broken and the other half commits suicide. However such trainers were sought out in the slave world as although there are a lot of beautiful women in the world it was a waste making a successful product even in ten to one not to mention hundred to one.
There was even a niche market of real dolls when mentally broken failed products would be sold. It was a niche product because at their level if they can afford such dolls they can afford the successful products. That meant that only people with the hobby of real dolls would buy them regularly.
However, most of the people who have frequented that market have one or two real dolls but they had a really high demand for the physical beauty of the real dolls. So only if a real doll was really in line with their esthetics would they buy one. So most of the real dolls were sold from the hands of golden trainers.
What Eve didn’t know was that at least twenty golden trainers were invited to assess the possibility of her being trained but all of them had the same view that it was impossible and that as long as she was obedient it was better to leave her alone.
So if somebody told them that at the moment Eve had dedicated herself to Phobos all of them would curse all your relatives for doubting their professionalism. After all, the title of a gold level trainer is earned through blood and despair. If you discredit them it means that you were a life and death enemy.
Eve herself didn’t know why she went this way. When she escaped from the slave ring she wandered around the world now free physically as well as mentally. With her competency, there were no worries for funds and she was free to do whatever she wanted.
Just as she was getting bored of traveling around she met Phobos. At first, she just thought that he was an exceptionally beautiful boy but didn’t have any other ideas. However, she unconsciously began to follow him and observe him from a distance.
While following him she noticed that there was a female of Asian descent always with him. From her muddled look, she could see that a high-level brainwashing technique was applied to her. She had seen such eyes in slaves in training. They would be categorized as semi-finished products. The next step was to make the brainwashing the reality.
When Eve saw such Hera she was a bit discouraged and felt disdain towards Phobos and thought that he was just another billionaire that was dyed with corruption and darkness. However, for some reason, she still continued to follow him and found something interesting.
Although Hera was brainwashed and was serving Phobos as a maid and personal assistant, Phobos was making sure that she wasn't wronged in any way. Although Hera was serving Phobos directly, Eve investigated and found out that he had hired five professional staff that were making Hera's job as easy as possible.
The more she looked, the stranger she felt. Phobos wasn’t using Hera as she had seen some billionaires use their slaves rather it was almost like he found her somewhere, saw her condition, and was trying to accommodate her as best as he could. It wasn’t that he was making Hera serve him as a maid but that he was that she was trained to be a maid and needed to execute that training so he created the illusion that she was taking care of all his needs.
Eve then investigated some more and found out that Hera was going to two of the highest-ranked psychologists in the world for therapy sessions and it was their idea to let her serve him so that they don’t go against her programming as not to shock her while she was brainwashed and do some irreversible psychological damage.
Eve didn’t know how to feel about that but became a lot more interested in Phobos so she approached Hera and tried to convince her to let her work together with her. While communicating with Hera, Eve was really shocked because normally when a person was in a semi-finished state of brainwashing their IQ drastically drops. However, when Eve talked with Hera she found nothing of the sort. Although a little dazed, her brain was one of the sharpest Eve had ever seen. She couldn’t imagine at what level it would be when the brainwashing was released or completed.
However, Eve didn’t pay much attention to Hera because all of it was stolen by Phobos. Eve knew that Phobos was good looking which was the main reason she took interest in him in the first place. However, she didn’t expect the level of charm he possessed to be so high. It was to an unreasonable level. When being near Phobos she found that she attributed anything good that happened to him and excused anything bad that happened with every possible reason as long it wasn’t attributed to Phobos.
Even if Eve was aware of this happening she couldn’t stop it. She was shocked by the power of charm that Phobos possess. Charm can’t be attributed only to good-looking flesh, it was a bit metaphysical in nature and Phobos’s charm was at a scary level.
Of course, that is not to say physical beauty didn’t contribute to charm but rather if you don’t have the charm to begin with physical beauty was only superficial. For example, a mediocre-looking person had a lot of charm, that is to say, every word was magnetic, every movement was mesmerizing he would be a lot more attractive to the people around him even if in the same group a perfect looking person was standing next to him.
However, if that perfect-looking person had the same level of charm as the mediocre-looking person he would crush him in attractiveness. The mediocre-looking person would even feel invisible to the people around them. So a good-looking flesh was like a multiplier to charm and could exert a lot more of the hidden charm inside a person.
This was why Eve regretted a bit going close to Phobos. His physical beauty and his charm were to an inhuman level. The more she was in his vicinity the more she was attracted to him, the more he was the only thing in her eyes. It took only a week to reach a level where she felt that she could never extract herself from him.
This short time was on top of Eve knowing that she was being influenced by him and was trying to mitigate the impact on her. She couldn’t imagine how a normal woman would feel if she had contact with Phobos for a week.
Although Eve admitted to herself that she had fallen and had given up resisting and only enjoying the feeling welling up inside her, she didn’t know how to express these feelings. Although she was a master in reading and manipulating emotions in others she was still human and when she herself was overwhelmed with emotions as with all humans her cognitive ability fell.
So even if Eve knew some of the normal ways other people expressed their emotions like verbally conveying love, relationships and even marriages, she felt that those methods didn’t even come close to communicating what she was feeling inside her.
And thanks to her upbringing only one method was coming close to conveying what she wanted. That was the dedication of a slave towards her master. Give her belongings to her Master, give her feelings to her Master, give her mind to her Master, give her meaning to her Master, give her being to her Master. Give everything there ever was and ever will be to her Master.
The day Eve made that decision she was shrouded in the ultimate bliss and the whole day she stayed blankly without moving, only enjoying the paradise in her mind. She only woke up when Hera came and found her for something.
Although Eve had decided to dedicate herself to Phobos she didn’t mean to go and tell him because she already knew him well enough that it would only have adverse effects. So she just communicated with Hera so she convinces Phobos to let Eve take the same personal assistant possession as her. At that moment she was still a peripheral staff member and at the least, she had to get the same possession as Hera to be able to dedicate herself fully to Phobos.
It took a full month of hard work proving herself and convincing Hera to finally be approved to be on trial as a personal assistant. Phobos approved only because he trusted Hera but Eve didn’t mind at all. Gaining the approval and trust of Phobos would take time but Eve was happy just being close to him and being able to dedicate herself fully.
But as she took the position she saw how unprofessional Hera was in her service towards Phobos. Although she had been professionally trained and could rank as a high standard but in the slave world where Eve was from, she could only be categorized as unqualified. So Eve took Hera aside and started educating her to the highest standard in the slave-trading world.
Phobos at that time looked at them a bit strangely but as long as they were happy he didn’t care much about what they were doing. With Hera’s mind, it took only a week for her to perfectly integrate the highest standard of service in her duties towards Phobos. Eve was quite surprised but at the same time pleased that her close colleague for the foreseeable future was so capable.
At the same time, she learned that Hera wasn’t even serving Phobos in bed. Even more surprising was that Phobos was most likely a virgin which shocked her immensely. How could such a charming man be left unnoticed by the female population but she found out that his lifestyle was mostly reclusive before his parents died.
And after that, the only person who had contact with him was Hera so the lonely and thirsty females in the world didn’t have the chance to even see the holy grail let alone drink from it.
So for the final lesson for Hera, Eve took her and Phobos into a room and made a week-long training session in the pleasures of the night. Eve participated as well but even if she had seen a lot when she resided in the slave world she didn’t have practical experience. After all, she was a displayed treasure and an unsullied treasure was a lot more valuable.
So even if she knew a lot more than Hera and Phobos she was on the same level as them in practice. So it became mutual education until Phobos started taking control at some point and since then they could only be a plaything in his hands.
-
Eve smiled a little while reminiscing about the past, at the same time she looked at the distorting table in her arm and lamented how the times have changed. She remembered that after that week with Phobos and Hera she started scouting for women who could be worthy of knowing the glory of Phobos.
At the same time, she could only sigh again that all the preparation was for nothing. She could only hope most of the women were okay. After all, Eve was quite close to them they were preparatory sisters slaves so it was impossible not to have any feeling for them.

The Oresteia (Modernized)
All three of the great Greek Tragedians have written plays about the bloody chain of murder and revenge within the royal family of Argos. Yet theirs is in fact not a story of tragedy, but rather one of redemption. As they move from darkness to light, from rage to self-governance, from primitive ritual to civilized institution, their spirit of struggle and regeneration becomes an everlasting song of celebration to be heard throughout the ages. Forming a discourse set against the emergence of Athenian democracy out of a period of chaos and destruction, the Orestian plays are compelling stories of the tensions between our obligations to our families and the laws that bind us together as a society. In the beginning, we witness how a king’s decision to sacrifice his daughter and turn the tide of war inflicts lasting damage on his family, culminating in a terrible act of retribution. In the aftermath of regicide, we behold how a son must set out to avenge his father’s death by committing a most egregious sin. In the end, the sinner is tormented by supernatural powers that can never be appeased, but ultimately finds redemption and ends the curse on his house once and for all. Woven through all of this is the story of a friendship so close that it elevates itself to brotherhood - Where the blood of the covenant is shown to be indeed thicker than the water of the womb. In this very brief twelve-chapter modern rendition of the Orestian plays, I have chosen to place my focus mainly on the lives of the characters Orestes and his best friend Pylades. The chapters, each around 2000-2500 words, are split up evenly between them in first-person narrative. I hope that you will come to enjoy reading this heartwarming story, but more importantly, that you see how the conflicts portrayed in the story, whether human or institutional, are still much very relevant to our societies today. Note on Sources: The details of this story is very loosely based on The Oresteia by Aeschylus. And I mean very loosely. Other sources that I referenced for detail and inspiration are Mythology by Edith Hamilton, Electra by Sophocles, and Iphigenia in Tauris by Euripides. You may also find that I have quoted some of these works, and others (such as Shelley's Ozymondaeus), without citations (average of 1-2 such quotes per chapter). I did this because I do not have the ability to describe certain scenes nearly as well as some of those writers. If you read a particularly beautiful piece of prose here, chances are it's probably stolen lol. Also, I wrote this during the summer between my high school senior year and my college freshmen year. It was the summer of 2020, and being quarantined apparently gets my creative side out lol.
