《Moniker's Mana》Chapter 11

"!?"
Moniker opened his eyes panicked. He found himself in an elaborate bed after getting his bearings. He quickly pushed away from the covers that were encumbering him and left the bed in favor of the air. He checked his status to make sure he was alright.
[Moniker]
[HP: 455/455]
Something else greeted him as well.
[Acquired: Poison/Venom resistance tier 1]
He was, of course, curious as to what exactly it did. He tapped on the words poison/Venom resistance tier 1. His status helped explain what it meant.
[Poison/Venom resistance tier 1: Poison and venom damage are both reduced by 10%]
"That's... convenient."
Moniker dismissed his status and made a portal back to Scarlets's room, but as he was about to go through the portal, the door to the room with Moniker in it opened. A young girl carrying tea stared at Moniker. She was the very personification of beautiful. She had long silky golden hair that seemed to glow. Her eyes were a deep royal blue that would shine in the night. She was wearing a royal blue dress to match her alluring eyes. Moniker stood still for a moment frozen by her beauty. She spoke in a calm and cheery tone.
"Your awake?"
Moniker didn't respond with words and simply nodded. She saw the portal and her expression saddened. She had somewhat of an idea as to what its purpose was.
"W...where are you going?"
"Scarlet."
She saddened even more and pleaded with Moniker.
"Won't you at least have some tea with me?"
"...tea?"
"It's quite good."
The portal that Moniker had made faded. Moniker flew over to the girl. He had a curious look on his face. He got closer and looked at the girl's eyes. He was a few inches from her face. The girl averted her gaze from his as her cheeks were crimson red.

"Um... excuse me?"
Her warm smile told all that she was embarrassed. Moniker looked away from her eyes and instead gazed at the tea she was holding in her hands. She had two cups of brown liquid with vapor emitting off of both cups.
"Here."
The girl held out one of the cups and Moniker held it gently. Moniker held a puzzled expression and looked at her again. The girl looked Moniker in the eyes and her own widened. She was taken back by how amazing they were a perfect mix of gold and silver. She smiled without knowing. The two were both staring at each other with a smile.
"You drink it."
"Drink?"
"...Here."
She held Moniker's hand and brought him down to the ground. Let go and grabbed his other hand that was holding the cup and slowly and gently brought it up to his mouth. Where he took a sip of the tea. She held Moniker's hand for a bit longer until she finally let go. Her cheeks were bright red and she couldn't meet Monikers' eyes. She turned away from him to hide her face.

A Demon Lord's Reincarnation
Selina’s got a pretty active imagination. When doing math, she pretends that she is a great detective solving a heinous crime! Ordinary tasks, like a trip upstairs, turn into a perilous adventure to raid a dragon’s cave! She believes that life should be full of wonder and magic, and tries to force the world to cope with her conviction! But when Selina wakes up to remember her past life as the Demon Lord, she has to face the fact that real life is messy, and not anything like what she imagined. With ancient powers stirring, family problems, and the hectic life of a teenager, Selina will have to discover more about herself if she is going to survive the trials ahead. With the help of her best friend and a fair share of luck, she might just get through this alive. Maybe. (Updates (hopefully) on Sundays) This story started out as a flipped isekai. Instead of a hero being pulled into a medieval world, a Demon Lord is pulled into the modern world. It has since moved a bit beyond that initial premise but it is the foundation of the work. Along the way, I threw in dragons, elves, dwarves, and some vampires (but no werewolves, gotta nip that in the bud) all wrapped up in the political drama of a modern world. The story, however, will mainly focus on the characters and their development and as such, is a bit of a slow burn. It may take a couple of chapters to get into. You have been warned! (PS, please show patience for the author's notes. They're a bit crazy and don't always make the most sense. The author's a bit of a ditz. Please ignore him.)
